Seeing as how K$ did 160k in a bad sales week with no name id and one smash hit, I would say Katy should do quite a bit more with name id, one smash hit and another pretty big hit...

I think they got Katy confused with Taylor Swift. LOL. I still see Katy selling around 200k first week. Anything else will make my jaw drop so low that it'll take an army to pick it up and put it back in place.

200k-225k First week, #1 debut. Overall it might do 1.9m-2.1m, I think. It won't go anywhere near Eminem or Taylor Swift's upcoming first week total.

LMAO. Lets not forget she only opened with 40k when IKAG was smashing. She's not a big opening artist but I believe that the album will have legs.

AND... IKAG was novelty. Sure CG was novelty as well, but this time she has a non-novelty 2nd single to help balance it out.

AND... she has had constant media coverage and made a good name for herself since the first album.

She's 2010's pop queen. She's not gonna do Eminem or Taylor Swift numbers, but I think 300K+ is certainly reasonable. And she'll continue to put up high numbers into the holidays.

Nah, K$ is the queen of 2010. Katy can be the lead princess though.

I'm really not sure what kind of numbers "Teenage Dream" will do. Everyone thought BEP(who had two big albums and 2 massive singles)were going to have huge numbers, and the ended with alittle over 300k. I really hope she get's at least 200k but I'm hoping for more :)
Lovin this song and era, and I want Katy's numbers to be big!

I'll be conservative and place my bet on something in the 175k-225k range.

I'm pretty sure big opening numbers (Taylor Swift & Eminem) aren't very common among pop acts. It's usually country artist or rap artist that open big.

Oh yeah I know Katy isn't getting anywhere near 700k lol. But I meant I could see her disappointing a lot of people and only getting like 170k, it wouldn't surprise me at all because she's releasing in a slow sales month and I'm not sure she has a large core fanbase. At the same time, a 300k opening wouldn't surprise me either, although I don't see it happening for her. But we'll have to see.

Is that bad? Of course not.

Kinda expecting sales similar to All I Ever Wanted's first week. Both had smash first singles and momentum going into the release. I don't see her pulling in anything more than 300,000+ just because she hasn't established a loyal fanbase yet.

If this maintains a +1600 bullet, it will be around 7500 spins the day of the album release. I'm gonna go ahead and say its bullet will average a little higher than that and be at 8000 spins when the album is released. Meaning this could be approaching the Top 5 when the album is released. If she keeps going at this rate, she will be on single 5 before the year ends. lol
But seriously.. I think single 3 will be released in October.

Personally, I don't really care about album sales, I just want Teenage Dream to get to #1

I think this will do better than All I Ever Wanted. CG was a much bigger hit than Life would suck... both were novelty songs, and TD is easily going to outdo IDNHU.

this is definitely going platinum, there shouldn't be any question about it really. But that's all gravy anyways. I can't believe she is so huge with just her 2nd album. Can anyone list her CHR history so far? I'm curious to know.

#2 - I Kissed a Girl #1 - Hot N Cold #17 - Thinking of You (I think) #1 - Waking Up in Vegas
#1 - California Gurls #26 - Teenage Dream (so far)
