there will be a 3 way battle next week for #1 in next week's hot 100. i hope this comes out on top, but i wouldn't mind it settling for 2nd if it goes to #1 the week after when it gets more spins.

Wow, I love this song soooo much. I might even blare it during a football game. So refreshing. Even more exciting to find out that this is already Top 3 on Hot 100. Looks like #1 there is in the bag!!! Hope this lasts longer than CG did, though.... :-\

I hope Dynamite gets it next week and then TD the following week. If next week is it's last chance (which I doubt), then I hope TD gets it.

I am not a fan of California girls I cant relate not a girl and never been to California. But this song even though it is still girly you can still agree with some of its points. It is so much catchier and I really wish the best for this song.

This song is so mediocre The only reason it's a hit it's because of her momentum.

Yeah, everything about this song screams smash. The bass line, the lyrics, the melody, the pre-chorus (I swear, the only word to describe the melody is "heavenly", the beat...it's just a good single. It's not the greatest song EVAR but it's a really good single.

I am loving this now. But I'm always wanting to change it when i first hear it. The first verse is just so blah. But after that its really good.

It's taking me longer to warm up to this than it did California Girls but I think this is the week it breaks for me. I'm liking it now!

i'm in love with the remix that is included with the album. It sounds so great at the gym! The whole album does.

Yup! I love this song, this might become soon my favorite of hers. Her vocals here are her best. Intense, strong in the chorus, but sweet, innocent in the verses. The bridge is really cool. It has a great 80s midtempo vibe to it... like BEP's Meet Me Halfway. I'm rooting for this to reach #1 soon. Enough of generic crap like Dynamite or I Like It...

As far as the Hot100 goes, I think Eminem will block this AND Dynamite this week. She needs to sell 70,000 more than Eminem and 50,000 more than Dynamite. There are also 2 versions of Eminem's song in the Top 50 on Itunes. She might sell 50,000 more than Dynamite, but she's not going to sell 70,000 more than Eminem (I don't think). I could see her getting #2 on the Hot100 this week, and then staying #2 the week after that while "Dynamite" leap frogs her to #1.

"Dynamite" is close to peaking in airplay while "Teenage Dream" is consistently making daily gains of 2mil+ AI and performing better digitally. "Teenage Dream" is likely going to be song that blocks "Dynamite" instead of the other way around.

is there a way to find out her Nielsen BDS airplay? Then we can add the daily gains onto that.

I had doubts about this going number 1 on CHR and on the Hot 100, but now I can definitely seeing that occur. I'm pretty happy for Katy. :) I hope Firework (it's the official third single, right ??? ) does as well.

I hope you are correct that TD makes it to #1 (even though I like Dynamite and want it to be #1 as well). TD's airplay will continue increasing, but I could see her single sales falling down to "Dynamite's" level soon, and it will take awhile for her audience impressions to equal his.

Well "Teenage Dream" has already been outselling "Dynamite" for a while now on iTunes with considerably less audience impressions. Now that "Dynamite" is peaking in airplay, its sales have nowhere to go but down. On the other hand, "Teenage Dream" still has many weeks of airplay increases ahead which should help the song maintain sales. While it is inevitable that sales will drop after the album release week, I believe "Teenage Dream" will continue to be ahead of "Dynamite". If "Dynamite" were to get to number one on the Hot 100, it needs to do so within the next two weeks or so - the door is rapidly closing.

Oddly, the singles off this album keep getting better. Cali Gurls was quite bland, this is quite good, and then Last Friday Night is so good you'd think K$ had recorded it!
