I have my Kleenex ready. Slay me Xtina and A Great Big World. Standing Ovation will commence after their performance.

What were the tv ratings for this show last year? It's probably going to end up being dismal this year.

What were the tv ratings for this show last year? It's probably going to end up being dismal this year. American Music Awards 2012 pulls in lowest ratings ever despite Justin Bieber, Taylor Swift performances Sunday's ceremony and performance show broadcast live on Walt Disney Co's ABC television was watched by an average 9.5 million viewers - down from 12 million in 2011.

^And it's going up against NBC's Sunday Night Football in one of the most hyped matchups of the season.

The performers list looks great! Justin Timberlake, Imagine Dragons, Christina, Rihanna, Gaga, Miley...only one missing is Bruno but still, this is WAY better than the VMAs. The presenters are yawn-worthy but who cares. Nobody cares about the nominees or winners either. It will be all about the performances at the end of the night because that's what everyone will be talking about the next day. I'm looking forward to it.

It might do good though. Who knows. I've been seeing a lot of promotion for it.

Daisy Fuentes, Joan Jett, Michael Bolton?! Are we sure this is not a rerun of an 80s AMAs? Viva nostalgia!

Will JT be premiering a new single or will he be performing something else?

^And it's going up against NBC's Sunday Night Football in one of the most hyped matchups of the season. It may eclipse last Sunday's game, which drew 27MM and 9.9 in demo and that was Broncos v. Chiefs. Peyton v. Brady should be on similar level unless it's a blowout. I'm curious why ABC would let AGBW/Xtina perform the exact same song they performed on TV (NBC), a couple of weeks ago. Seriously, what can they add to that performance? I'm glad Xtina is getting exposure, but it's nothing exciting or new. Odd choice.

^What else would they perform/ Unless you mean that they shouldn't be performing at all?
I'm not really super looking forward to anything, but I'll watch.

It's the AMAs and it's ABC. It'll be clean.
The lineup is better than the VMA but it'll be less fun.

Some of these acts trying to sing Max will be messy enough, and I'll be glad to pass judgement!^^

Is she trying to piss people off? It's the anniversary of Kennedy's assassination and she does a performance in an oval office setting?

Oh gee... I really really hope Gaga doesn't kill the era prematurely with a silly unnecessary mistake with controversy for the sake of it. She's in a pivotal position to make people take her seriously and pay attention to her for the quality of her music. So I hope she takes the opportunity wisely. I'm a gaga fan and I'm all for weirdness and controversy when justifiable but not gratuitously

Is she trying to piss people off? It's the anniversary of Kennedy's assassination and she does a performance in an oval office setting? Are you actually fucking kidding me? I hope you're joking in that post. I find it hilarious how desperate people are to drag Gaga and her name through the mud. Because it's taking place in an oval office setting during the week Kennedy was assassinated it automatically means she's saying something about Kennedy's assassination? Give me a break. Oh yeah, remember that time she released Judas right before Easter. Totally was obviously trying to make a statement that she is better than Jesus.

There is NO WAY she doesn't know its the anniversary and she obviously knows its going to be very controversial. Just by that photo (the setting, the outfits, the stance of R Kelly dominating her) it looks like this is going to tasteless. Why doesn't Gaga just dress up with pigtails and a cheerleader uniform; try to look like a 13 year old and just totally go for all the controversy? Its making me sick just thinking about it. Ill wait to say anything more until i see the actual performance

His assassinator had no sexual relations with him 4. It is a sexual song in nature, so yes, he is going to be dominating her Please explain your logic and explain what you think Gaga is trying to say

It's not about Gaga saying anything about Kennedy. This weekend marks the anniversary of his assassination. It's just very tacky. The performance could be seen as a disrespectful and desperate attempt to cause controversy.
It's very possible that no one will care. Her SNL performance went rather unnoticed.

It's not about Gaga saying anything about Kennedy. . So then let's wait and see what happens before we speculate for no reason
