Kelly Clarkson has two top-selling 'Idol' tracksBy: Brian Mansfield This week, Kelly Clarkson not only has the best-selling Idol track, she's got the top two. While Mr. Know It All continues to sell at a brisk clip (it passed 800,000 downloads last week, according to Nielsen SoundScan), Kelly's I'll Be Home for Christmas debuted with 24,000 sales. Kelly's version of the World War II-era holiday standard is part of her iTunes Sessions set, which will be available Dec. 27. Kelly Clarkson, Mr. Know It All (37,000, -3%, 816,000) Kelly Clarkson, I'll Be Home for Christmas (24,000, debut, 24,000) Kelly Clarkson, What Doesn't Kill You (Stronger) (8,000, 0 change, 122,000) Jason Aldean/Kelly Clarkson, Don't You Wanna Stay (7,000, +16%, 1.809 million) content.usatoday.com/communities/idolchatter/post/2011/12/kelly-clarkson-carrie-underwood-track-sales/1

THIS is cool:
It Gets Better Project We love Kelly Clarkson and the new video for "What Doesn't Kill You (Stronger)." Entertainment Weekly calls it an It Gets Better dance off. Check it out.
Turning into the gay anthem we always knew it would be. :'(

The video was good but why so many videos from the fans with water? Two of them were on the water and one was even in the water. Also, was it just me or did I see Kelly's choreographer in a few of them? Or maybe it was just a girl who looked like her. If they wanted this to be about the fans then use those videos, don't send her around recording multiple videos to use. I looked at the video again looking specifically for the choreographer and I didn't see her in any of the fan videos. There were several blonde girls but they didn't look like her.

I watched this video like 50 times today. Lol. I really love the whole concept, but would it have killed them to only chose videos in HD? The grainy, low-quality submissions are nasty. I want this dance route to become a phenomenon . (Yes, I submitted a video, judge me.)

This is probably going to sound bad, BUT SCREW THE FANS!!!! BRING ME A WHOLE DANCING KELLY VIDEO!!! She is really good at the flashmob scenes, loving the energy!!! I definitely got the Keeps Getting Better vibes at the beginning, but the end was totally worth it... My only complain is that the fan scenes are sloppy, Kelly can outdance us all haha Cute video overall

Tickets are going on sale for her concert and I'm so confused on how to get them. I thought I knew, but I apparently am not doing something right. Can someone that already went through this process and knows how it works please PM me? I'd forever be appreciative.

THIS IS AMAZING. THE QUEEN IS ACTUALLY DANCING AND LOOKS F**CKING HOT. HOLY S**T. baha, sorry, I can't resist, I am a bad person. Anyway, pretty good video. She actually looks like Breakaway Kelly in parts. Love the song, wish the rest of the album was as good.

I'm a little bit worried about the continuation of this era. I think selling gold is a reasonable goal for an artist of Kelly's stature, and right now it's just barely getting near that threshold. RCA may have dropped the ball on the release of the second single--- I feel it should've gone out in the middle of November. Of course, that cuts MKIA's run short, but it may have helped the era in the long run.
I'm hoping for the best, and assuredly holiday sales will improve this album's credentials, but I'd hate to see Stronger be something of a flop. I hope she can make it to at least 500,000 by year's end.

I think it will be fine if WDKY is a big hit. If it isn't the era is essentially over because I cannot see anything hitting if WDKY flops. It will be really depressing if the era pretty much lasted 3-4 months total and the biggest/only hit is MKIA. The cd and Kelly deserve better than that.

I have attempted to delete duplicate posts for the past 45 minutes. I have succeeded with exactly two posts. I'm about to slap the f**king taste out of somebody's mouth.
Just a heads up though (learned this the hard way myself a few days ago) - if you submit a post and get the "page took too long to load error," do NOT keep trying to resubmit the post. It very likely submitted it, but for whatever reason just doesn't load the page to show you that. Hit the back button and then refresh the page, your post will show up then.

Am I the only one that thinks what RCA is doing is beyond amazing? Granted 4th quarter sales are bigger...people are willing to spend extra during the holiday season. But people getting upset that WDKY was not released earlier to capitalize in some additional sales, although sounds logical, is I think an actual smart move. People do not go out and buy cd's as holiday gifts for their kids anymore, they give them $25+ itunes gift cards. RCA released a now popular Hot AC track (and mildly pop) which has gathered over 300,000 album sales. Releasing one of her strongest pop hits after Christmas to me makes the most amount of sense to gather more album and single sales. I realize everything I stated is subjective, but in a business standpoint, I think RCA is being very smart. I still can not wait until Dark Side is released, to me I have a feeling that song is going to stick out more than WDKY, if they follow that with You Love Me then I will be in heaven

This much I know -
300,000 so far isn't fantastic, but it's nothing to sniff at either. This isn't 2004 anymore. Adeolmilies aside, big name artists are struggling to go past platinum. There are new benchmarks. Gold is a sure thing.
What Doesn't Kill You is likely to be a massive hit. I think anyway. Nothing drives album sales (more so than videos or promo or whatever) like a massive hit on the radio. Know It All was a hit, but not a smash, so whilst people may be disappointed so far, I'm thinking long term, big picture, and I'm smiling when I do. Smiling and listening to the million and one live goodies we've been spoiled with.
I've loved both videos, I've loved most of the performance, I love the album.
That much I know. And I pretty much know it all.

Turning into the gay anthem we always knew it would be. :'( Why is it a "gay" anthem as opposed to just a great song that many people can relate to? What does it have to do with anyone's sexual orientation? I mean no disrespect to anyone, but I just don't understand this.

As a fellow real know it all, I can assure you that what you know is what I know, which makes it exactly right. What does it have to do with anyone's sexual orientation? I mean no disrespect to anyone, but I just don't understand this. Because it is a gay anthem. It's a big-voiced, disco-inspired, dust-yourself-off/it-gets-better song sung by a female pop star with a gay following. What's not to understand? It doesn't mean straight people can't enjoy it, obv.

No one's saying it's solely a gay anthem or that it isn't a song that many people can relate to. With its dance driven beat and empowering lyrics about overcoming obstacles, it's easy to see why it fits the bill a modern day gay anthem. It's just one of the many specific qualities this song has.

Most bloggers seem to like the video. Here's an example: music.kcclaveria.com/music-videos/kelly-clarkson-releases-what-doesnt-kill-you-stronger-music-video/Kelly Clarkson releases “What Doesn’t Kill You (Stronger)” music videoKelly Clarkson‘s “Mr. Know It All” is still slooooowly climbing the charts these days (it just hit #1 on the Hot AC charts in the US), but that isn’t stopping the pop star from already releasing the music video for “What Doesn’t Kill You (Stronger)”, the second single off her fifth LP. The video features some homemade clips of Kelly Clarkson fans doing the choreography of the song; it also shows Kelly showing off some futuristic and rockin’ outfits. Whoever did the dance choreography kinda needs to get fired, but it’s great to see Kelly having fun and lookin’ fabulous. Haters can say anything they want about Kelly’s weight, but as far as I can tell, she’s never been happier and more comfortable. My fave part of the video? The flash mob, of course! Just so silly and so fun. In other Kelly Clarkson news, she’s releasing an iTunes session EP on December 27, and she’s set to appear on VH1′s Divas Live. “Mr. Know It All” may not be selling Stronger, but Clarkson and her label RCA seem intent in making this era a hit. What do you think of the video? The Prophet Blog also liked it:www.theprophetblog.net/watch-kelly-clarkson-dance-and-look-hot-in-what-doesnt-kill-you-video

About 18 hours after it's release, the 'Kill' video has nearly 225,000 views already with a ridiculously positive to negative like ratio.
Here's it's sales impact on the iTunes USA digital song sales chart:
On Wednesday, 12/14/2011 at 8:35 am EST,
# 306 - All Genres # 81 - Pop
On Thursday, 12/15/2011 at 12:35 am EST,
# 192 - All Genres # 57 - Pop
