Thanks. I could not remember for the life of me who that 5th was. I am actually glad Gretchen made it back into this category. Does anyone know what song Taylor Swift's label submitted for this category? I did not see the list this year. I will post all the nominees in the 1st post when it is released.

Carrie Underwood, 'Temporary Home' (4 wins, 5 nods in this category) I don't know about any other artist's stats, but I am about 100% certain you are wrong about Carrie's # of wins and # of nominations in this category. Carrie has 5 Grammys total. 1 of them is Best New Artist, and another is Country Collaboration for I Told You So with Randy Travis that they won last year. That leaves just 3 other wins. And, I am quite certain those wins were for Jesus, Take The Wheel, Before He Cheats, and Last Name, in that order. Last year, she was nominated for Just A Dream (I think?) and lost to White Horse. I can't think of any other nomination (or win) in that category, but I can understand how one can get confused with this lol.

I'm beyond shocked at LeAnn's nomination for "Swingin". Not that it'll win, going against the two current superstar females. But it's definitely an honor to be in that category with a song that barely (or did it?) even charted.

When I was reading the list I was like, "What the heck?!" but congrats all the same

LeAnn Rimes is now tied with Mary Chapin Carpenter and Tanya Tucker as the 5th most nominated artist in this category. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grammy_Award_for_Best_Female_Country_Vocal_Performance

LeAnn's always been a favorite of the Grammys for nominations (though not for winning), much more than the CMAs/ACMs, whose favoritism changes with popularity. She's one of their former Best New Artists so they'll always look upon her favorably.
Surprised at two country songs in SOTY but no country act in BNA, I thought The Band Perry might sneak in the latter category.

I am surprised The Band Perry is not in the group category. I agree. I've never heard of The SteelDrivers or Dailey & Vincent. Maybe I should have, but I just haven't. ??? In my opinion The Band Perry should be in there...But there is always next year??

So happy to see If I Die Young getting a nomination.

What I love about the Grammys is that it is NEVER about the charts. The songs and performances are based on merit and performance. Not sure why The Band Perry isn't in the country group category. Huge oversight in my mind, but Lady A will most likely win that category anyway.
I would love to see Rimes and Nail take the Vocal categories. After all, they are arguably, the best singers in those categories. No other male country artist could have sang Turning Home.

Pretty good nominations! Rooting for Miranda for Album & Female Vocal! Lady A for Group Vocal, and Keith Urban for Male vocal <3 Nice to see two country songs in the Song of the Year Category. Very please with The Band Perry's Country Song nomination Surprised they were snubbed in Country Vocal Group(same with Sugarland). A little surprised by Taylor missing, I thought her name alone would get her in. Nice to see Carrie nominated for another year, she's one of the best vocalists. Decent Nominations all around. Just hoping Miranda wins one or two <3

Even though leann's swingin flopped, her vocals are impecable, so her nomination is definitely deserved. Im just angry about: 1) Reba being overlooked AGAIN 2) Gretchen Wilson...REALLY?!?!?!? 3) Jewel...SERIOUSLY!?!?
Im just really sick and tired of the grammy's ALWAYS snubbing reba, even in the 90s when she had the best female vocals in country music. She should have won an award in 1990 for "You Lie" I just hope the same thing doesnt happen to miranda, her breakthrough is similar to when reba did in 1986, when she released whoever's in new england and it was nominated for Best country album (LOST) and the title track won in the female vocal category.
I didnt expect TOTR to get nominated since her vocals are mediocre on that, but what about consider me gone and i keep on loving you, i wouldnt even mind if they chose martina over her, but GRETCHEN SERIOUSLY.
OH YEA, heres something new, rascal flatts and jason aldean got overlooked(AGAIN).

Were Taylor's Fearless and Fifteen eligible for this round of nominations? Or was Mine her only shot?

I see some are upset with Gretchen Wilson's nomination...
Have any of you even listened to the song? It's absolutely gorgeous. I'm not sure how it beat out Reba/Martina/Taylor based on popularity, but based on quality, it deserves the nomination 100% imo..

I looked up on youtube Gretchen's song after I saw it was nominated and I really loved it. I don't get all the hate and I know nothing about her music or anything about her at all

I agree that the Country field at the Grammy's had more to do with quality in the past, especially with Lee Ann Womacks "out there" nomination for Country Album a few years ago, but when Taylor Swift won everything last year, I really thought they had gone commercial. (For the record I actually like Taylor Swift, but I know that she doesn't deserve to win everything).

I'm thrilled Gretchen got in there as I love that track. Jewel's "Satisfied" is the one I'm not too sure about, it's a great song/vocal but Reba should've been in there for sure, or Martina. Still glad Gretchen got the nom, and the rest too, just don't know how Jewel got it.
