After returning back to the original demo- I prefer the finished final version on the album now. The song is my absolute favorite on the album and NEVER GETS OLD!!!

Great choice for the 4th singe off her album. I see this being big, but not as big as the Teenage Dream era. I can not wait for the remix for E.T as well.

If they are releasing "E.T." as the fourth single, hopefully they will make room for "Peacock" in Spring/Summer 2011. I am surprised that she has not sold as many albums as I expected.

lol What is this a rip-off of? What they said. Pretty much everything that hits these days is a 'rip-off' anyway, nothing is original anymore. E.T. is not just sounda-like, you can sing the lyrics to 'ya soshla s uma'. *cough* blatant rip-off *cough*. Second time it's happening this era. But this seems a bit more original to me than most of what pop radio is playing. LOL. Only if you pretend the original doesn't exist. It sounds like "All the Things She Said," but I don't even think that was released stateside. It was released as 'All the things she said' in the US and the english version was one of the biggest hits wordwide in 2002/2003. But originally it's called 'Ya soshla s uma' and is from 2000.

Maybe it will be one of those fillers that are more remembered than some singles...(i.e. Monster, Kiss n tell, Breathe one me, I'm lovin it, Future sex love sounds). you left out my personal fav most deserved single breakin dishes. True...I was trying to find one for Rihsus but I kept thinking Good Girl Gone bad which I alway thought should close the era although not catchy at all. Thanks, boo ;)

My hope is late Jan E.T., late April Last Friday Night late July Peacock or a balladish type song if they don't want a gimmicky sexual innuendo song. But I think it will get released eventually.

So glad this is the next single! Hopefully Hummingbird Heartbeat will be released in Spring, then LFN in summer, to end the era on a good note ^^

Okay, wow, this songs sounds similar to one hit from seven years ago.. I'll take that over every other song on the radio which are all blatant rip-offs of each other. Weak argument.

Honestly I do not se Peacock, or Hummingbird as being her next singles. I could see "Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F) as being her next single rounding out Teenage Dream's era.
Singles to date: California Gurls (feat. Snoop Dog) Teenage Dream Firework
Announced: E.T (as 4th single)
Possibility (Last Friday Night T.G.I.F)

I'm pleased this song is the next single. I'd say it's probably my favourite track from the album remaining. Hopefully it does better than Peacock or Last Friday Nights would have done...

Only heard a clip of it, but to me it doesn't sound on par with the last three singles - the hook I guess is calling your lover an alien, and it just doesn't seem like something people are gonna latch on to like they did to CG, TD, and Firework
I'm sure it'll still do well - just don't think it's gonna be a huge #1, but I guess I gotta wait to hear the whole thing cause YouTube still doesn't work on my slow computer >:(

Last Friday Night, imo, potentially could be the biggest hit on the album. I can easily see it being #1 for multiple weeks.
E.T. is an easy top 10. Top 5 or top 3, or maybe even #1 depending on how good the video is.

I like E.T., but I don't love it, and I haven't been able to get on board with it as a single. Still, I want this smash era to continue, so I hope it does indeed out-perform my expectations.

i think E.T. will do pretty well. I'm not even expecting it to hit #1, so anything beyond top 10 is gravy for me. And i think it has the potential to hit the top 10. It won't flop. Teenage Dream IS the best song on the album. Period. Why else would it have been 2nd? As i said in another thread: I've seen TD in a few magazines "best of 2010" lists. There was even one in my city of Portland, and everything mentioned I've never even heard of before (not mainstream), and then at the bottom is Katy Perry's Teenage Dream. The caption reads: "if you don't like this song, then you are a complete liar." stuff like that is so great! it still remains as the one song that hit me harder than any other song in my own personal history, even Madonna songs. I was seriously repeating it back and forth for weeks. I still repeat it from time to time, and Firework is a great song, and comes really close emotionally, but TD still wins over the long run. It's had more impact. And it's pretty respected. :)

I think E.T. is a stronger single choice than:
Peacock The One That Got Away Pearl WAILF? (i don't even know the name of it, i deleted it a long time ago) Hummingbird Heartbeat Not Like the Movies
if LFN is released next (and it will be), then if the album doesn't end there, it will be Hummingbird Heartbeat as the final single, not Peacock. If not, then LFN is.
what an exciting era. Truly represents an entire year of my life. When i look back on time in 10+ years, I'll remember all of this.

I don't get all the love for this song. Melodically, it's rather weak. It's my least favorite, next to "Who Am I Living For." I thought "Firework" was a pretty mediocre single choice, too. I'd much rather have seen "The One That Got Away" or "Last Friday Night."

The era of TD is coming to a close, and will be done probably by the beginning of summer. Though I do not see the next singles doing as well as everyone is thinking.. Do not forget that Britney's new album/singles will be coming soon, GodGa will have a new album/single as well. It will be the battle of the divas, which will be the era to remember..

next summer is a long time away from now, thankfully. ;) i personally think LFN can rise above any Britney or Gaga single, even leapfrog it if it comes down to that. It's that strong.

Though Katy is a stronger single artist than Britney and Godga I do not think it will out do Britney or Godga. Britney has the loyal fan base to sky rocket her to the top no matter what "current" pop star is topping the charts. And Godga she is/has gathered a loyal fan base to get her up there as well. As I said earlier it will be the Battle of the Divas

Britney's single, whether it be good (or bad), will be #1 on iTunes within 24 hours of it's release. That's a given. But airplay will be at the bottom, and only increases steadily. Fans don't really have a say. I think LFN, given the climate, can potentially rise above her song, and even leapfrog it on airplay. You can almost imagine what the new Britney song will sound like. It will rise fast, but so would LFN. It would be a close match. Digitally, Britney will prevail, and probably debut at #1 or close. LFN would be more of an uphill battle.

If you are referring to pop airplay then I disagree to some extent. If you are referring to hot 100 airplay then I completely agree. All it takes is a couple of weeks at #1 for Brit and Gaga to block. Timing is everything. Many good songs have settle for #2. Also, Rihanna is going to be in the mix and I am not sure about Kesha. I guess time well tell, though.

i dont see katy as a stronger single artists than gaga. i could agree on equal strength or gaga stronger. gaga hasnt had a song do poorly yet. all of her singles went double platnium (alejandro is there or is REALLY close). 6 of the 7 went top 5 on the hot 100. 6 of the 7 made it to number one on chr.

'Hummingbird Heartbeat' is easily one of my least favorites on the album, if not the least favorite.

I'm glad their going with this. It sounds like a hit, but also is something different for radio right now. LFN next! Then re-release if their going to do that, if not just throw Peacock out their for fun.
The only song I don't really care for is "Who am I living for". Both "Not Like the Movies" and "The one that got away" grew on me after a while, and everthing else I loved :)
