I don't believe FMQB. I'll wait for Gaga confirmation. It's more than just FMBQ. Why are Gaga fans so completely against Born This Way being released as a single even though they haven't heard it yet?I'm not against it, but I feel that all these sites saying that the single is "Born this Way" have just misunderstood her tweets, since that's quite easy to do I suppose. There's a high chance the single will be BTW, but it could be something else.

Are we sure that Born This Way is a ballad? No. It could be screamo.

Like people said before... BR and Poker Face sounded like ballads when she first played them. I doubt her label would let her release a ballad as a lead single this early in her career.

LMAO! Why are people still talking about this being a ballad and then being concerned about it if it is?! Nobody said it was a ballad. People are just basing it off of the title but really?! You're actually going to do that? You can't wait a month and a half instead of endlessly and needlessly and, may I point out, POINTLESSLY talk about it?

True, At first, i though If I Were A Boy was an uptempo club banger and Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It) was a big ballad

Timing with the Grammys and iTunes is perfect. I think this will be a very upbeat possitive self-accepting song for everyone.

I think many are forgetting what they are referencing or talking about. Gaga's songs ALL begin on the piano and usually as Ballads.
Pokerface, Bad Romance, Paparazzi, Eh Eh Eh, and more have all had piano versions played live and most are done in a ballad or down tempo format.
Her "dance" songs are often originally ballads produced as dance songs.
From the version we heard, the snip on VMAS, it sounded like a ballad to some but her tempo was rather fast and the redition was faster than her piano versions of Bad Romance and Pokerface. Then Elton's comment that is an anthem like dance song lends more evidence to think BTW will be a dance anthem. I have no doubt of this.
I think it's a great first single choice, with what we know thus far, because it will finally give her a big single that is about something deeper than a relationship. None of her "deeper" or "different topic dance songs have been released (like The Fame)

I doubt her label would let her release a ballad as a lead single this early in her career. It worked wonders for Paula Abdul's sophomore effort ("Rush Rush" was #1 for five weeks).

I think at some point in this era, she needs to have a ballad, not necessarily the lead single though. It would set her apart from her peers and really show that she may belong in the same league as Madonna someday. Look what "Crazy for You" did for Madonna.

It would set her apart from her peers and really show that she may belong in the same league as Madonna someday. Look what "Crazy for You" did for Madonna. I agree, but she needs a really amazing ballad, and not right now. Unfortunately, since the public doesn't like ballads much, most people would find a ballad a disappointment as a lead single, even if it's amazing and much better than all her upbeat tracks. Assuming she has got some great ballads on "Born this Way," I'd suggest trying out a ballad as the 3rd or 4th single, when her momentum is even higher. After "Just Dance" and "Poker Face," she could've probably done anything... she released "Eh, Eh" in Australia and it didn't kill her momentum, and radio did love it, so after the first 2-3 singles of BTW, I'd suggest trying out a ballad or something very different. Regardless, I don't expect a ballad to be a massive sales hit, but it has a chance of being massive on airplay. : )

Murder My Heart and Second Time Around were good IMO, but they arn't "gaga" songs. I think as time goes by she is beyond to write a strong ballad.

Anything but another 'Poker Face' copy will flop, imo.

Alejandro and Telephone were a lot different, I'm just saying if you can't see that Bad Romance was PokerFace on steroids, you're in denial or you don't know that much about music composition.

The best part is, and this is fact: it really doesn't matter anyway. They're two separate songs that both performed exceedingly well. End of.

GaGa's team is very smart. :)

When RedOne was speaking of it I think he was speaking of it like it was going to outdo her biggest hit by being bigger. Any self-respecting artist, no matter what your format, would ever produce the same thing twice. That said, I don't speak for RedOne being the self-respecting one out of the team of himself and Gaga.

In a way I hope it is a ballad. A welcome change for her and radio. It will smash regardless.
