After reading one of the threads here, I decided to open one in order to get me some answers. So basically, I'm looking for slow/sad/depressing songs - mostly pop ballads and slow songs, american & UK ones, and even sad rock songs like The Only Exception, Evanesence etc... From what I saw you guys here know a lot of songs like these and I'd like you to share it with me and others. Appreciating! And a question to begin also a discussion: What is the most moving song you've ever heard?

If you want a slow, sad, depressing, and moving song, try Clare Maguire - Bullet. It can be amazing if you're in the right mood.

Sia - My Love
it's just depressing. And beautiful. I still believe the song talks about a lover tobbing over her partners death. Its ridiculously sad and beautiful!

Lori McKenna - Still Down Here or That's How You Know, from her new album Lorraine. Both songs are about the death of a close friend. The latter in particular is moving because it's about the point you reach when you've decided you're over the death of someone close and can finally start to live normally.

Loudon Wainwright's "Dreaming" is one of my favorite sad songs. I don't know why--I don't know/like anything else by him, but I heard this in 28 Days and go through bursts of obsession with it at least once a year.
Also love John Mayer's "Slow Dancing in a Burning Room." And...a trillion others. I'm a sucker for sad songs. I used to love listening to them on my headphones as I walked to class in cold, overcast weather in college. ...that sounds so emo and gross.

+2 to the Travelin' Soldier mention. I'd also add Without You, Wide Open Spaces, Landslide, Never Say Die, and You Were Mine (OK, 90% of their discography...) by the Dixie Chicks.
Also:
- You're Still the One by Shania - Because of You, Irvine, Where Is Your Heart, and Beautiful Disaster by Kelly - My Immortal (actually any of Evanescene's music) - You're Beautiful by James Blunt - Cool by Gwen Stefani - She Will Be Loved by Maroon 5 - Wake Me Up When September Ends by Green Day - This Is My Now by Jordin Sparks

Even though I was looking for the cheesier songs, I'm surprised for the better that you guys actually bothered and even posted Yuotube links. I wanna thank each and every one of you. Happy holidays! (it's Passover now).

Reba McEntire - "All Dressed Up (With Nowhere to Go)"
A song about elderly neglect...so sad. It's one of the few that's made me tear up.

The majority of For My Broken Heart would be fitting. That album is damn near perfect, too.
