My Love is Your Love- it's now been fixed, but it seems a tad high (it was reported as 2.753m in August 2009; I don't think it had sold 40K+ in 2 1/2 years, before the passing). EDIT: I'm told that is the correct total, though. Maybe the total includes the imports/special editions.

In the SoundScan era, Like a Prayer has scanned 589,597 physical units through this week. Its digital tally probably is less than that of Like a Virgin, which totals 17,712 (thanks lemi).
RE MLIYL- SoundScan reports that 2.797 figure on the newest charts- and I don't think it usually adds import numbers in the mix (unless that's changed).

I think Whitney will now get certified Diamond, and she will finally have 3 diamond albums.

I think Whitney will now get certified Diamond, and she will finally have 3 diamond albums. Do you have the actual sales amount? I remember when labels would ship and certify more than what was actually sold. For instance, one of Mariah's diamond albums sold 7.5M +BMG sales. Is 'Whitney' anywhere near 10M in sales? On another note, I would be surprised if Whitneys bodyguard gets certified as well. If the sales are at 12M then they have enough in stores as is.

With the Whitney album being a pre-SoundScan title, how would we have the actual sales amount? :) It's scanned more than 1 million since 1991- all that's really known.
The Bodyguard likely did good business at record clubs in general (remember Columbia House was another big one), so I'd think the 17m cert suffices.

Whitney was certified 9xp in November 1995.
It has not shipped 1 million copies since then.
It's been selling less than 10k a year.

^The 9m cert, like some others, could have been overdue for some time. No way of really knowing for those pre-SoundScan titles.

^Certs since SS began in 1991:
8xp in Nov 1994 7xp in June 1993
I still don't think it's currently eligible for Diamond.

Arista was pretty good about keeping her certifications in check. If it was eligible, I'm sure they would have certified it.

Let's not count out the fact that they obviously shipped more copies for the 25th Anniversary re-issue, so maybe now they are going to send out some more.

The Collector's Series, Volume One (2000) A New Day... Live in Las Vegas (2004)

I need new Britney sales figures in my life

Some new rounded Britney figures from Billboard.com:
First, here are Spears' U.S. album sales to-date:
10.5 million, "…Baby One More Time," 1998 9.2 million, "Oops!...I Did It Again," 2000 4.4 million, "Britney," 2001 3 million, "In the Zone," 2003 1.7 million, "Circus," 2008 1.4 million, "Greatest Hits: "My Prerogative," 2004 1 million, "Blackout," 2007 (*The album passed 1 million in sales for the week ending July 24, 2011. It had stood at 990,00 sold at the start of last year) 755,000, "Femme Fatale," 2011 209,000, "The Singles Collection," 2009 131,000, "B in the Mix: The Remixes," 2005 24,000, "B in the Mix: The Remixes: Vol. 2," 2011
Spears' career album sales in the U.S. total 32.5 million. That makes her the 16th-best-selling album artist since the advent of SoundScan data in 1991.

Looks like Femme Fatale will limp its way to 800k in the next year. Maybe X Factor will speed the process up.
Hopefully Jive updates In The Zone for 3x Platinum and finally certifies Blackout for Platinum (it's currently uncertified)
Circus' total looks reasonably healthy.

I think there are only 5 albums over 1 million scanned that have not been RIAA-certified:
50 Cent, Curtis Britney Spears, Blackout Rascal Flatts, GH Eric Clapton, Millennium Michael Buble, Christmas album

^ Interesting... And only two of those are regular studio albums.
Kelly Clarkson's All I Ever Wanted (944,000) comes to mind as an album that's close to the 1 million mark, without a certification. I wonder if it'll get the stone before it hits a million.

Not entirely relevant, but for my favorites:
Songs that went recurrent (20 weeks), pre-digital era, via mariah-charts: Baby One More Time 32 weeks (about 1.9 mil copies sold), Toxic (1.8 mil) & Oops 20 Outlasted the recurrent cutoff, in the digital era: Till the World Ends 24 (2.6 mil), Womanizer 23 (3.3 mil), Circus 22 (2.97 mil at start of June, should be 3 now). Her other 2-mil seller is 3, with 2.2 mil.
Outlasted the recurrent cutoff: You Belong with Me 50 weeks (4.1 mil), Love Story 49 (5.4 mil), Teardrops on My Guitar 48 (2.7 mil), Our Song 36 (3 mil), Mine 23 (2.1 mil), White Horse 22 (1.8 mil), Fifteen (1.3 mil) 21, (Two is Better than One 1.6 mil w/21 weeks) Mean is at 1.8 mil and climbing.
For other girls, just weeks Gaga Just Dance 49, Poker Face 40, Bad Romance 34, Telephone 33, Paparazzi 27, Edge of Glory 24, Alejandro 23, Love Game 22
Rihanna We Found Love 41, Disturbia 37, (Take Care 34), Umbrella 33, Don't Stop the Music 30, (Love the Way You Lie 29), (Live Your Life 28), SOS 28, Pon de Replay/Take a Bow/Only Girl 27, Hate That I Love You/S&M 26, (All of the Lights 25), (Run This Town 23), Where Have You Been 22+, Rude Boy/What's My Name 22 5 featured, 4-5 w/featured artist (Britney was added late.), 8-9 solo
Kelly Clarkson, pre-digital: Miss Independent/A Moment Like This 20 Digital: Breakaway/Since You Been Gone 46, Stronger/Because of You 37, Behind These Hazel Eyes 34, Already Gone (& Don't You Wanna Stay) 31, Walk Away 29, My Life Would Suck 24, Mr. Know It All 23
Carrie Underwood Before He Cheats 64, Jesus Take the Wheel 24
Xtina Aguilera Digital: (Moves Like Jagger 49) Pre-digital: Beautiful 27, Genie in a Bottle 24, I Turn to You/What a Girl Wants 22, Come On Over 21, Dirrty/Fighter/Can't Hold Us Down 20, (Lady Marmalade & Nobody Wants to Be Lonely 20)
Pink There You Go 33, Most Girls 27, Get the Party Started 24, (Lady Marmalade 20), Don't Let Me Get Me 21, Just Like a Pill/Family Portrait 20 Who Knew 36, U + Ur Hand 33, So What 31, Raise Your Glass/Perfect 30, Please Don't Leave Me 26, Sober 25 Quite impressive, esp the number of songs with 30+ weeks. When I pair up the pop girls in my mind she's usually w/Kelly (early 2000s, pop-rock with AC longevity).
Ke$ha Tik Tok 38, Your Love is My Drug 28, Blow 26, (Right Round 26)
Katy Hot N Cold/Firework 39, Teenage Dream 33, ET 30, California Girls 27, Last Friday Night/One That Got Away 24, Waking Up in Vegas/I Kissed a Girl 23 (Odd.), Part of Me 22

I wish My Kind of Christmas would chart as one album, instead of just tracking the repackage.
