I adore "Georgia Peaches" and I think it was a fantastic first single choice, but Lauren's live performances have been really shaky. Her vocal tone is still fantastic, but she sounds really out of breath during most of the song. Maybe it's too fast-paced for her to keep up with just yet?

2nd single choise you mean? Technically, but I don't really count any of the Idol singles as official singles. I view GP as Lauren's first single, simply because it's her own single and it is not attached to the Idol name. And none of the Idol singles do very well for any of the artists, so I don't think it's fair to judge them by the performance of those singles.

Regardless, LMMD was still promoted to country radio as Lauren's debut single, so this is officially the second single release from Wildflower. In year's past, the Idol single was often just thrown out there and a real single followed it, but this time things were handled differently.

Any news on the official video for this song? If that gets released soon enough, then I think she'll have a better chart run.

Glad to see that she's getting a full CMT: Premieres episode. It reassures me that her label isn't just sweeping her to the side.

I hope the video for this is a good one. The one for LMMD was total crap; the whole random-household-appliances-as-movie-projector-screens idea was ridiculous.

I was actually somewhat disappointed with Georgia Peaches when I heard the recorded track, her voice comes across to me as a little harsh and grating which undermines the song feeling as fun as I had expected. But I think it could make for a very nice video for Lauren if they handle it well with a good treatment to show off her personality.

^ Same here. I think Georgia Peaches is one of her less-impressive songs on the record as far as vocal delivery goes. The song is very catchy and radio-friendly, but I feel like more than anything this song shows that Lauren has aways to go towards coming into her powerful voice and learning how to use it to it's best capabilities.
Hopefully the video for this is good and radio really gets behind this song. So far things are looking pretty good, and I think this has a Top 20 placement in its future.

Cute video. Not much to it, but she looked infinitely better in this video than her Snooki-pumpkin look in the Like My Mother Does video. I hope this song does well for her. It's the right song to get her name out on radio! If this can't do it, then they need to move to Tupelo or Eighteen Inches. This album is too solid to not be put in a larger spotlight.

The video had its moments, but it wasn't great like I was hoping it would be due mainly to the poor camera work throughout. It was better than the one for LMMD at least, I'll give it that.
The song seems to be doing fairly well on radio thus far, so I think it will keep on trucking.

Lauren looks fantastic in the video, but I don't care for the song at all, it sounds like something Miley Cyrus would sing and the video is very cheap looking. The colors seem off to me and she is very stiff when she dances. Her idea to use her own friends is just too familiar if you catch my meaning .

I think the video is cute. Lauren looks great and I really like the song. Lauren's album is very strong and I am hoping that Georgia Peaches can at least make top 20. The Big hit to come on Lauren's album in my opinion is Dirt Road Prayer. I really hope her label releases DRP at some point in the future.

Has this broken into the Top 40 yet? It's been in the top 40 for the last several weeks. After 12 weeks (so far) on the chart, its chart run is 52-43-47-42-43-40-37-40-44-38-38-39. The week where it was at #44 was the week where all the Christmas songs passed GP (and other songs), and now it's been back in the top 40 for a couple weeks again. But it's not really moving much. She has a lot of work to do if she's going to make it into the top 30--we won't even think about top 20 yet, since this one isn't even acting like it wants to go top 30. Perhaps it will, though, if it catches on a bit more soon. But it will probably take a while, even then..

I really thought this song would go T20 (at least). Maybe it's just me WANTING it to do well... I like Lauren a lot. Her voice just sits well with me, and I honestly think her debut album is spectacular.
Here's to hoping she gets a solid hit soon...

I guess this is the country girl from AI. I haven't watched that show in several years. She's cute and has some potential in her voice; however, the song and the video are both pretty bad. Someone said the video looked pretty cheap. I would agree.

She really needs to release "Dirt Road Prayer" and then she'd have a huge hit on her hands if radio is smart! Thats song is amazing!

She started her tour opening for Jason Aldean last night, so hopefully being on the road will help get this song out some more.

I think this works well for her. She conveys the attitude convincingly, and the hook works.

Saw this posted in Lauren's album thread. This is her singing "Don't You Wanna Stay" with Jason Aldean on tour:

When I saw this I was wondering how Lauren would change it because I didn't think she would be able to hit the high notes Kelly does in the song. I was a little worried, but from what I can hear it sounds pretty good. Its very different from the way Kelly sings it, but still fits. Lauren's version is less powerful, but when being compared to Kelly, there are few who could ever come close to matching the power in her voice so I think Lauren did fairly well for her situation.
