They couldn't have possibly thought either of these songs would do well...? I appreciate them both for what they are, but they certainly aren't hit singles. Clearly her management didn't learn shit from 'Massive Attack'.

Va Va Voom better be Roman's Revenge or Did It On Em v 2.0. :) I know... I hate that she is waiting until April 3rd but two things are good about this. Adele will get more weeks at #1...Madonna won't be blocked at #1. She will hopefully tack SH and RIM as bonus tracks. Here for Superbass hip POP Nicki not here for urban Nicki

From what I saw, RIM And SH were just "singles", they were never considered "first" or "second". But that's good that it was pushed back, i'm sure she felt like she wasn't going to be finished by the 14th of Feb.

She should've thought about that before flinging that V-day date out there so carelessly...stupid hoe. Btw, anyway expecting a ROMAN album should not be expecting HIP-POP. That's an absurd expectation, unless she is scrapping the whole concept.

That's an absurd expectation, unless she is scrapping the whole concept. So, PF: Roman reloaded was supposed to be ALL hip hop tracks...source??? Nicki will never have a studio album that has ALL one genre. If she is following Wayne's steps of Branding her albums (i.e. Tha carter 1, 2, 3 etc.), then I doubt putting out an album with all of her different genres would have been smart if she was just going to stray away from that. to me, the idea was to show that she can do it all...and then building and evolve and grow. to agree with Wavey, I was thrown off by RIM and SH because it just seemed backwards. The lyrics aren't the issue...moreso the direction. Either way, I always expect and will continue to expect hip hop, hip pop, dance, and r&b teas blended to perfection + lame zz RIM and SH as lessons learned bonus tracks. Nicki will still slay.

The fact that it's based around Roman is essentially confirmation that it's all hip-hop. That persona doesn't do 'Superbass' or TMO type tracks.

I would expect Monster, Did It On Em, RR type songs on this project. I hope you're not disappointed, slw. I know you expecting them Diet Peach Snapple teas.

I'm not here for her scoring a big hit with Superbass and crossing over to score even more hits like Turn me on...just to go ghetto...no ma'am. I love her doing that through features (i.e. Dance, bottoms up). Here for eclectic (hip hop, hip pop, dance, r&b) Nicki not here for her going backwards to try and prove she can still do it. I remember in December when RIM first came out a fan tweeted her asking if she was doing a save me for this record and she said yes...things like that would lead me to believe she wasn't going full hip hop. I said it before and I will say it again...why cater to the urban crowd when they throw the most shade and hate...especially now that you are embraced by the masses. Like Rihanna, they are still going to play your songs somewhat even if the genre doesn't necessarily fit. Get your mind right, Nicki. P.S. kudos on that jab about diet peach snapple tea. LOL. She gotta get them elementary kids somehow.

If Nicki can have some sort of a song that can even match up to her verse on Monster, I'll be happy. That might have been one of the best moments in music in the last few years.

That was me trying to clean it up a little bit Just...stop. Though...I would almost pay money for you to Tweet that comment to Nicki, but only if she responded back...which, of course, she wouldn't. As a purported Nicki stan, I would imagine you know where her true roots lie. Did you happen to see the Grammy Awards Nomination Ceremony where she was gleefully rapping along and mean muggin' in her seat to the ghetto/urban/hood classic "The Message" ??? She grew up in Jamaica, Queens, did you know that? Do you know where that is? It's in the Ghetto. I know you wish she was from Malibu, Pacific Palisades or the Hamptons, where other non-urban people live but alas, she is not. All the HIP-POP songs she records, all the little girls singing her songs...that will never change true facts. She even uses the "N" word in her songs like other ghetto people do. I think you probably should just dealwithit.com - the sooner, the better. This post was brought to you by the letters L, O, V and last but not least, E.

By the way, I do know where she is from and I know her backstory pretty well...I just have my opinion on the smartest career move after scoring a crossover hit like Superbass and turn me on and winning countless awards...but either way I respect everyone's opinion and I'm sure I will get my way in the end and she will have another double.platinum album ( only female rapper to do it) I know pf is not certified yet but at 1.8 m it is bound to certified this year.

It's only a promo single/video, and it turned fans into a whole different direction. I can only hope Va Va Voom is no Roman, not that I don't mind.

I think what's more important for Nicki than crossover appeal, is releasing the right single, which is going to carry her farther than just releasing a hip-pop single. The immense amount of positive buzz she got from her lyrics in "Monster" shows this. Conversely, the so-so success of "Your Love" and "Right Through Me" on pop showed that having a song w/ crossover appeal doesn't always guarantee a big hit. The main reason "Superbass" was so much bigger is b/c it is vastly superior to YL and RTM imo. This, along with "Girls Fall Like Dominoes" had me instantly hooked. What she needs more than crossover appeal is somebody to tell her that releasing songs like "Massive Attack" and "Super Hoe" as singles and relegating SB and GFLD to bonus track status is not a good idea.
