What's a HOV Lane anyways? Every time I see that title all I can think of is my older username (Heartbreak On Vinyl). As for the album, I'm listening now. I'll post my thoughts later.

I listened to this on Spotify last night and I enjoyed it. Some of the songs are a little out there, but for the most part it was fun. I liked the Dance/Pop tracks a little more than the purely Hip Hop ones. I love "Roman Holiday", "Va Va Voom", "Sex In The Lounge", "Marilyn Monroe", "Pound The Alarm", and "Whip It." I'll pick up the Deluxe edition when I visit Target.

Nicki says she cringes when she hears Massive Attack & Your Love. Like, I BEYOND can't. I cringe during "Massive Attack" too. Shame she doesn't like "Your Love" much, though. The lyrics aren't the best, but it's an adorable song. Take your medication, Roman, you'll be okay! has been stuck in my head all day. I didn't even really like it when she performed it, but for some reason I'm starting to like it now.

I love Massive Attack too! I really hate Roman Holiday too, it's just such a mess and I can't deal with it at all. Come On A Cone is kinda hot tho #dickinyourface

When is the video for Starships coming out? The promo team behind her seems so odd with all these videos being filmed but either not coming out or taking forever to come out. Right now would be a great time to help jumpstart the album sales and really take Starships to the next level. Come on!

i played Come On A Cone (the only song I have heard in full besides Starships,RIM and Stupid Garden Tool) for some friends the other night while trolling YouTube. They were like, "Umm...is this a real song?" It's so absurd. I can't imagine wanting to listen to it multiple times, especially with that "Ooooh D*** in yo face" off-key singing. Mess. Reviews seem to have gotten somewhat better but I find the silence of Pitchfork, TasteMakers Supreme, to be quite deafening.
Paws...
I suppose anyone truly shocked, surprised or dismayed by Nicki's new direction need only look to her MTV special where she pretty much laid her ish bare. She is in this to make money, nothing more, nothing less. She is not trying to inspire or create. Therefore, the Lady GaGa comparisons need to end.

Sooo...Short and Sweet: Standouts: Urban Side: -Roman Holiday -Come On A Cone -I Am Your Leader(Actually, Cam'ron IS the standout) -Beez in the Trap(I actually gave 2 Chainz a chance) -HOV Lane(I'm thinking this her showing Jay-Z -Champion(Imo, they all did great on their verses) -Right By My Side( A sorta "Right Thru Me part 2") -Stupid Hoe(This has always been my jam, the Bass in my vehicle>>) -Gun Shot I've burnt out Roman Reloaded, & Sex In The Lounge is your regular album track about freakin..nothing pops from this, not even Wayne or Bobby V. Pop Side: -Pound The Alarm( The production is so crazy, this needs to be a future single) -Whip It(Another possible single, the breakdown though, reminds me of Starships(Probably cause of RedOne) -Beautiful Sinner(another possible sinner, due to Ester's catchy writing, and Red One's production, Nicki's voice felt like it was someone else doing the track) -Young Forever(her little ballad pop tracks do it for me) -Marilyn Monroe(I really want to know the inspiration behind this song, it's really good) -Fire Burns(This should be sent to RHY/URB and Pop, but it's actually short.) -Va Va Voom(This joint is really catchy, another single possibility) -Masquerade(Another inspirational joint(Let's say one thing right here: Nicki loves her barbz and kens, and wants them to shine, no matter what)). I forgot about Automatic , i'll have to listen to it more. In my conclusion, she obviously focused on the Pop side this go-around. I'm thinking her early stated mission to do Pop, and the outstanding success of " Super Bass", had something to do with it. My problem is that she would've came up with the idea of doing a 2-CD Set(I'm sure this came up when green lighting this project, but..), and keeping it split with a Urban disc(with more lyricism, it was really hit and miss this time around) and Pop disc(there is no question that she can smash this genre). That would've have been a great strategy , and it would kept her Urban fans satisfied, instead of leaving them in the dark. Overall, nice follow-up to PF, but it's an "Everywhere" album. Hopefully the 3rd album will follow one genre, or the double-disc, just to not cause definite confusion. 3.5/5

-Marilyn Monroe(I really want to know the inspiration behind this song, it's really good) Well, I'm assuming it's not Daisy Duck, LOL. Come on (a cone)! The inspiration is the titular Becky of the title. That's just an educated guess. I am getting this today when I get back home. Newbury Comics is selling it for $12.88. When I have had time to fully digest all 21000 songs, I will share my thoughts/comments/concerns - well, the ones I haven't already shared, LOL. I will say this for now: Those Come On A Cone lyrics are definitely NOT the business. That whole "Sitting with Anna" thing? REEKS of lack of creativity. OK, sitting with Anna, really sitting with Anna, really sititng with Anna! My 2 year old godson could have put that together.

The "if I had a dick" posturing might have caused amazement the first time around on COAC's template, 'Did It On 'Em'. This time, not so much.

Roman Reloaded is a solid effort even if it's more Pop oriented. I'm obsessed with Whip It, Pound The Alarm, Marilyn Monroe, Right by My Side and Va Va Voum.

Best of both Nickis. This girl knows what she is doing, reviews be damned. I needed to hear this in full, CDQ (although my Champion sounds kinda crappy and messy and that saddens me because it's riding music). Roman Holiday is SO much better on record than visually. The production on the "Roman" songs is tight and cohesive...kinda reminds me of Tha Carter IV, which also got the whole "boring, uninspired" critique. Nicki sounds pretty energized to me. Haven't gotten to the pop songs yet. Love Right By My Side. It reminds me that Chris Brown can actually sing...well. Damn. As soon as it came on, I was like "this is pop/rhythmic gold". Again, she knows EXACTLY what she is doing. Edit: I'm a little tired after Automatic but all those RedOne songs are designed for maximum drunken college student hook-up impact, so...I like. Sex In The Lounge, while borderline parody, has some moments I really like...mostly Weezy. Marilyn Monroe sounds much better than it did when I heard it on YouTube a while back and I can see why people like it so much. I'm surprised JR did this and not Alex Da Kidd. It sounds like a #1 song to me, structure-wise and production-wise. Meanwhile, I can't believe Alex Da Kidd did Beautiful Sinner. I think the producers gave Nicki exactly what she asked for and not a cent less. By the way, she could have rapped all of "Young Forever", like she did for the verses of "Right Through Me". Either way, I love it. I feel so bad for Rihanna though. First, Nicki kills Kim and then Rihanna. Terrible.

What is the opinion here on future Pop singles? I was thinking something like this...
1) Starships 2) Va Va Voom 3) Whip It 4) Marilyn Monroe
Possibly "Pound the Alarm" fifth if they even make it nearly that far. I'd be fine with it staying an album track though since it's basically "Starships" part II.

Just listened to it and honestly wasn't impressed, I thought Pink Friday was better. Standouts to me were Roman Reloaded (could do without Wayne though), Starships (growing on me :o ), Automatic, Va Va Voom, and my favorite was probably Marilyn Monroe.

I love(d) Nicki, but I just feel like this cd misses the mark of being good enough. I will put a disclaimer on my remark because I have only listened through laptop speakers and sometimes her songs pop in a car and not on a computer.

The issue I take up with this isn't that the material isn't passable but that, when you put it up to the standards both she and her peers have set -- and that's a problem in itself: this two-sided release is very hard to properly identify -- it's just sub-par. If this was her debut it would probably go over much better, but Nicki's shown that she has more to her than Roman Reloaded has to offer. It reeks of complacency and inconsistency, and neither match up with the drive that's so apparent in her lately.
To put it simply, it isn't bad, but she can do much better.

VVV definitely should've been the lead single as originally planned. It poo-poos on Starshits.

I've grown to really like "Right By My Side". I hope her label pushes it to pop around the time that "Starships" peaks so it can be her multiformat hit this era. I want Va Va Voom sent out after (since she already has a video filmed) and it has the potential to be her biggest hit to date.
