Tuskegee is selling about 18k a week and slipping. Keep in mind that with this week's SoundScan numbers (tomorrow morning), One Direction will be pretty close to 900k. They're a few short weeks away from a million.

Wow at those Madonna numbers, considering her opening week. What's she selling per week at this point? How much will her tour, beginning today, help?
Do we have Billboard YTD sales?

It seems 4th quarters are becoming more loaded each year--this year is ridiculous. I wonder when it will get to the point of saturation, if it hasn't already, in terms of actually maximizing sales by releasing so late into the year.
Three yet-to-be released albums who could rocket up to the year end charts: Mumford and Sons, Taylor Swift, and One Direction. I think each album could reach 2 million by the end of the year with holiday sales.
This overall list is going to be so shook up here starting in a few weeks beginning with some anticipated September releases.

Eh this year's Jan-Sep is particularly weak. For BB 2011, Adele, Gaga, and Wayne released earlier and ended up being 3 of the T4.

As happens every year, at least one album that you think will be a huge hit if released during other parts of the year will fall short due to market saturation. No different this year

Their debut is at 1.1m so far with a huge hit. I guess the holiday shopping season will help but thats a big jump over a big debut. And Mumford certainly isn't a lock for 2 million. They'll debut big and will sell well over time but 2 million is too big a number to call it a lock. Taylor, on the other hand...

I didn't phrase that clearly. Replace "could" with "potentially" though I definitely didn't say lock. Each of them, with their own target audiences, either appeal somewhat or greatly to those who still purchase albums--especially during the holiday season.
Mumford and Sons will have to rely on excellent promotion throughout the coming months. If they happen to exceed their first week projections I think 2 million could be within reach, but I do admit everything would have to fall into place perfectly. I'm intrigued by their first week projections, like "what are insiders thinking or knowing that we don't that would put them this high." I will say I was hoping to go to one of their shows on the current tour but all the locations close to me sold out. I know that doesn't necessarily translate to sales but let's also add in the fact that Sigh No More is still charting well; they are still unknown waiting to be discovered by some despite their popularity.
I think One Direction will be the album parents get their kids this year. If their first single does well (there's no reason to not believe it won't be a radio hit at this point...) or exceeds expectations I feel this band is on the verge of exploding even more. Like all boy bands they'll fade away quickly, but I think it's an excellent move to put out another album so soon.
Taylor of course is the best bet. It's interesting how she is branching out. Does this make her more appealing or will some country fans abandon her? This album is also one for the kids too, but she also reaches beyond the teen market.

By the looks of it, Taylor's new album could easily sneak in the top 3 releases this year. It could even possibly end up at number 1.

Does any of you have the list for the best-selling albums so far this decade?

I think so far, it's
1 21 Adele 2 Recovery Eminem 3 Speak Now Taylor Swift 4 Need You Now Lady Antebellum 5 My World 2.0 Justin Bieber 6 My Kinda Party Jason Aldean 7 Christmas Michael Buble (I forget the name) 8 Teenage Dream Katy Perry 9 Sigh No More Mumford & Sons 10 Born This Way Lady GaGa
Am I forgetting any? I know Tha Carter 4 is past 2 million but I think still behind BTW?
Susan Boyle, Drake (twice), Nicki Minaj, Bruno Mars would also be up there.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Adele return keep up with Taylor during the holiday season, so it'll be pretty hard for Taylor to catch up. But I'm pretty positive Taylor will be in the top 2.

Wow at those Madonna numbers, considering her opening week. What's she selling per week at this point? How much will her tour, beginning today, help? Do we have Billboard YTD sales? 1k at best weekly, but she should hit 500K by the end of Sept. with no problem. I would be shocked otherwise.

I think it looks really good for Taylor to have 2012's top release (as 21 is 2011). She would be the 2nd artist to have 3 different albums be their respective years' #1 album, after The Beatles. The kings and the queen, yes.

Any thoughts about Alicia Keys? I think she could be a contender for top 5.
