Commentary/Highlights
Luke Bryan scores a second week at #1 with one of his fastest rising songs in his career. Maybe the label will go for a third week but maybe not with Jordan Davis being on the same label right behind it. Jordan Davis is one of the contenders for the greatest gainers this week with “Singles You Up” as Jordan Davis also managed to pass Bebe Rexha/FGL. Looks to possibly be #1 next week. Brett Eldredge finally enters the Top 5 on Billboard after 3 weeks at #6. However he is still not doing the best on the charts, and I fear for his #1 chances as he is really slowing down. Another strong showing this week is from Kane Brown who spends his second week in the Top 10 with his very high selling song “Heaven”. With Brett Eldredge not moving the needle and Thomas Rhett free falling still I think Kane Brown could enter the Top 10 next week. High Valley continue to go up the charts slowly and while they will set a new peak on Billboard they're still not moving that much. Darius Rucker enters the Top 10 finally after being just outside of it for a while with “For The First Time” whether or not he hits #1 remains to be determined.
Besides Lee “you are going recurrent” Brice. Most of the songs in the teens had good weeks. Notable standouts being Dierks Bentley, Morgan Wallen, Luke Combs, and shockingly Brantley Gilbert as well. The last one definitely surprised me but it looks like it's a good week for “The Ones That Like Me”. Two songs that didn't do all that well were the latest from Chris Lane/Tori Kelly and Michael Ray. With Michael Ray I expect it since he has never done very well on any of his chart weeks, but for “Take Back Home Girl” the last few weeks gave this song a lot of spark that seems to be dissipating. Maybe next week will be a bit of a bounce back week for Chris/Tori. Finally look for Morgan Evans to score his first Top 20 with his debut single “Kiss Somebody”.
Lindsay Ell and Lady Antebellum have really great weeks as Lady Antebellum could pass Jon Pardi while simultaneously entering the Top 20. As for Lindsay Ell, her sales along with Lady Antebellum as well leave a lot to be desired but her song is slowly starting to get some life back in it. What helps both is the fact that both are female lead songs and are the highest 2 on the charts right now. Jon Pardi manages to re-bullet this week, still nothing outstanding this week but “She Ain't In It” is back on the right track. Dylan Scott is into the Top 25 with “Hooked” in its 31st week on the Billboard chart. A close 4 song finish with the latest singles from Chase Rice, Lauren Alaina, Dan + Shay (who will be entering the Top 30 this week), and Justin Moore. None of them besides Dan + Shay had really noticeable weeks however. Cole Swindell looks to re-enter the Top 30 this week.
Brett Young continues to make subtle movements through the 30s. Runaway June saw a good week in audience gains on Mediabase but since a lot of that was Westwood One that will translate to a ho hum week for Billboard. Kelsea Ballerini and Jimmie Allen have a chance of already sneaking into the Top 40 this week, but can't rule out Kip Moore and Maren Morris. Absolute stop weeks as the latest singles from Brandon Lay, Cam, Maren Morris, and LANco look to gain very little audience or lose very little audience. Old Dominion has a shot at the Top 50 before their add date which is really impressive. New artists Travis Denning, Mitchell Tenpenny, and critically acclaimed artist Kacey Musgraves

On the bubble

Dustin Lynch “I'd Be Jealous Too”
Casey Donahew “Country Song”
Jillian Jacqueline “Reasons”

Kenny Chesney TBA
Thomas Rhett “Life Changes”
Tyler Rich “The Difference”
James Barker Band “Chills”
Closing Thoughts
I know that jhomes87 said in the “Broken Halos” thread that there's a chance of it staying but my gut is telling me both that and Lee Brice with “Boy” will be sent recurrent while Michael Tyler falls off for the week. As for the songs on the chart, High Valley continue to remain weak and Cam is really at a standstill it seems like.
Some nice gains this week from Lindsay Ell and Lady Antebellum, along with Brett Young and Cole Swindell. New artists like Travis Denning and Mitchell Tenpenny debuting already as well. The charts are seeming to be entering a transitional phase and I feel like we will see some more songs circled around and disposed of..
That's it for me. See everyone for my predictions next week. Bye everyone have a great week❤❤ you all!!
