^^ Any summary for us non-members would be greatly appreciated. :) She apologizes for not blogging, and says that she forgot her computer when she headed out for media/Billboard/AI. She said that she only had her iPad with her, and she didn't want to try blogging on that since she isn't good at typing on touch screens. She talks about the Bayou Country Fest and says she is excited that she got to brush up on singing and admits to forgetting the words to "Cowboy Casanova". She then talks about how she's excited for the CMA Fest and softball game, and how she's never missed an AI finale and was happy that she got to bring Mike with her this time.

No. The airplay was probably due to the concert Carrie was featured in. My guess is that if you find out where these were performed, a radio station nearby played the songs. It's possible there was more than one station as well. By now it's basically confirmed that "Blown Away" is the next single. Carrie has performed it twice on two of her bigger TV appearances. Also, its sales indicate the song has huge selling potential as a single. They won't officially confirm anything until after GG, but I'd put serious money on "Blown Away" as the next single.

After GG peaks (which i hope it will top the country chart next week), i wish they would release BLOWN AWAY to country radio and top 40 radio immediately. And let GG climbs to at least top 15 HOT AC and top 20 AC before sending BA to these formats.

I still don't know why they haven't given GG a CHR adds date. It's doing so well on HAC. :(

^It is about her contract. Her deal with Sony/Arista Nashville does not have anything in it about crossover airplay. She would need to get promotion to CHR from Sony New York, which would require a separate contract with them. The promo people at Sony Nashville don't have any ties to genres outside of country. AC & HAC formats aren't as big, so GG is able to chart there without much promotion, really. But I don't think Carrie has any plans to invade CHR radio again. I could be wrong, but I haven't seen anything recently that would indicate she wants to send songs to CHR.
RE the 2 songs getting airplay via yesterday's MB update, I found that very interesting. Usually when album tracks pop up like that, it is because the label is testing the songs. It could be that they are just random spins, maybe if she was close to the stations playing them, but I doubt it. 18 spins of DYTAM in 1 week, and 17 spins of NETY in 1 week, and none of the other songs on the album got any airplay. It doesn't necessarily mean either will be the next single, and in fact it doesn't mean either will be a single at all, but it is possible that the label was testing them a little bit. I do think DYTAM could be a potential single down the road, but I agree, "Blown Away" will probably be next.

"Do You Think About Me" would make a great 3rd single after "Blown Away".

I'm one of few fans who really enjoy NETY, but they better not release it as a single. I would love DYTAM, though.

I love Do You Think About Me. I think it's very underrated. It's probably my second favorite on the entire album (It and Wine After Whiskey were really close for my second favorite song, but over the past couple of weeks, I think DYTAM has won out). I think the song would be great for Carrie to release. It showcases a more country sound, and there is absolutely no belting (which is new for Carrie, aside from Mama's Song, which was really average other than the vocal). The lyrics paint the story incredibly. It leaves you smiling at the end. Just a great country song that I think will grow on people the more they hear it (which can be better than a song storming up the charts and then burning out).
Having said that, Blown Away is my favorite song on the album, and as I've said, I think it's Carrie's one chance at a mega hit on the album. So, I don't think there's any question it's going to be released. But, DYTAM may be a good summery song to transition from Good Girl to Blown Away. Those are both her most pop-sounding songs on the album, so a more country song to release in the middle of the two may be best.
But, I can see the other argument. After all the buzz around Blown Away, I can see the need to release it immediately.
I don't know..I do know that Carrie better not release Nobody Ever Told You. Although the music is infectious, it's probably the most cliche song on the album...that and Thank God For Hometowns. I also hope See You Again isn't considered. I would be fine with any of the 9 remaining songs on the album being singles. After almost a month listening, I think I can say this is Carrie's best album now.

I think releasing Blown Away next is the route to take in the interest of selling albums and potential awards this fall. If she blew up with Blown Away (pun intended) I don't see why she couldn't get Female Vocalist of the Year at the CMAs and be back on track awards wise.
Other than Blown Away and Two Black Cadillacs, which I felt from the beginning and still feel should definitely be singles, I now tend to vacillate over what other songs would be good to be released.

After Blown Away, I'd love to see Do You Think About Me released. It's fantastic, and it would definitely endear the country community after two non-country leaning choices. The third single release is really important, as it's right around holiday season. Two Black Cadillacs is my other favorite... I don't know if she'd want to split BA and TBC. I actually think the third single will be Cupid, and I'd be pretty disappointed if that were the case. It's a good concert song, but I don't think it will help move units.

01. "Good Girl" 02. "Blown Away" 03. "Two Black Cadillacs" 04. "Cupid's Got a Shotgun" or "Do You Think About Me" 05. "One Way Ticket" 06. "Good in Goodbye" or "Wine After Whiskey"
That would be perfect, imo.

I seem to be the only one that doesn't like "Do You Think About Me". It's not bad but imo there are 7 better tracks that would do just as well or better at radio. Of what's left excluding GG, I think BA, TBC, GIG,OWT, WAW, Cupid, and SYA are all better and with the exception of SYA,BA,and OWT, all the others are just as suited for the "Country" crowd as DYTAM.
