A CD with 14 tracks is wonderful, considering the number of artists who've repeatedly ripped off many of us by re-releasing CDs with a handful of new songs on it.
Thank goodness Carrie is unquestionably more conscientious than all of them!!!
Come on May 1st--GET HERE!!!

OFFSTAGE: Carrie Underwood's "Good Girl" to Go Big at ACMsMarch 23, 2012 Written by Alison Bonaguro (CMT Offstage keeps a 24/7 watch on everything that's happening with country music artists behind the scenes and out of the spotlight.) You know that feeling when you listen to a song for the very first time and just know it's going to be huge? It's like love at first listen or something. That's how I felt when I heard Carrie Underwood's "Good Girl." And I think she must've felt the same. Because when it was announced that she'd be performing the new song on the ACM Awards on April 1, she said, "Being in Vegas is always a lot of fun, and I'm glad to finally get to perform 'Good Girl' in a big situation. It's gonna be really good. We're having something made for the performance, and it'll be pretty rockin'." No idea what she means by having "something made." But I am excited to hear her talked about a "big situation." Do you think she just means the big ACM stage at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas? Or something even bigger? www.cmt.com/news/cmt-offstage/1681669/offstage-carrie-underwoods-good-girl-to-go-big-at-acms.jhtml

Ugh, 2 enormous ACM performances consecutively for Carrie.
April is going to be the best fucking month to be a Carrie fan.

Did Carrie perform at the ACMs last year? I'm a little foggy on that.
I bet she's gonna kill "Good Girl." It should be great.

I wouldn't have put Steven and Carrie together, but it worked pretty well.

And then the night after was "How Great Thou Art" with Vince Gill. That was an INCREDIBLE 1-2 ACM punch last year!

I wouldn't have put Steven and Carrie together, but it worked pretty well. Surprisingly, yeah. As I was typing "2 enormous ACM performances consecutively", I had to rethink and make sure that it was just last year. IDK why it seems like so long ago, but maybe it's because so much has happened since then. It's also been nearly a year since her HGTA showstopper, which is also funny, especially when you look at how many views it has on YouTube (nearly 12.5 million, IIRC). Crazy how time flies. Can't wait for this era!

Thanks- just preordered. There's an advertisement for pre-order of 'Blown Away' and $7.99 special iTunes pricing for the other 3 albums on the main page (not in the scrolling banner). Here is the iTunes USA link for those interested: itunes.apple.com/us/preorder/blown-away/id510217346

Ahh... exciting. Hearing the clips and then finding the songs on slacker... some of my favorite times of experiencing a new album! :) April should be fun.

I thought that too about "Wine After Whiskey", the lyrics weren't provocative...

I pre-ordered my copy of "Blown Away" from Itunes tonight; I'm getting more excited by the day. It feels like it's been so long since we've had a studio album, and I'm thrilled the Carrie takeover is gonna begin soon. I love it when she's everywhere; she's a breath of fresh-air from most in the music business today, IMO. I'm still absolutely loving "Good Girl, and it's quickly becoming one of my favorite songs from her. The vocals, the lyrics, the attitude, the production...it's perfect. I love all the little touches they added to make it sound different (echos), but then the way Carrie sings it is very pop with obvious rock influence towards the middle. They merged all her influences flawlessly and turned out one epic track in doing so. The tracklist looks VERY promising as well; it sounds like there will be a wide variety of topics & styles covered. Carrie has so many influences and she can tailor her voice in so many different ways; she never sings one song the same way and I love that. Based on the titles I'm most excited to hear: "Blown Away" "Two Black Cadillacs" - The title sounds very dark and it's almost 5 minutes long; I'm sensing a great story song here. Perhaps it'll be something similar to "Just A Dream." "See You Again"- I could imagine this one having a spiritual/religious theme, especially because it was allegedly one of the songs written for the Narnia soundtrack. The released track "There's A Place For Us" had a positive message, and I could see this one being along the same lines. "One Way Ticket"- I'm interested to hear this one; I imagine it's something fun and upbeat, maybe similar to GOTT thematically. "Nobody Ever Told You"- A title like this could go many different ways, so I'm curious to see what it's about. "Thank God For Hometowns" I LOVED the small clip of this and it just sounds so...Carrie. She's always been so loyal and grateful to Oklahoma, so I'm really excited she's included a song like this. "Cupid's Got A Shotgun"- I'm probably most excited to hear this one; talk about a GREAT title. One of the (minor) criticisms I've always had with Carrie is that she doesn't always record the best uptempo material, but this title alone sounds killer, like the song itself could be BHC quality. "Wine After Whiskey"- I LOVED the demo of this song; it's the strongest cowrite I've heard from Carrie, and I'm so excited to hear her take on it. It's a gorgeous song. She's become such an emotive vocalist, she'll kill it. I'm loving her look this era; it's a little edgier and sexier, but still very "Carrie." I really admire her for wanting to step out of her comfort zone just enough so people take notice, but she doesn't abandon her values/morals in the process. And of course I can't wait for the ACM performance; Carrie always kills her uptempos live, and she's become such a dynamic performer. She's become so confident, I can't wait to see what they come up with. If last year's performance was any indication she'll be the talk of the night even if she walks away empty -handed. She seems so excited and refreshed about the new era; I can't say she's ever seemed as confident, and I love that she's saying "hey, this is my best work, get ready!" She's such an amazing vocalist and artist, it's about time she started "struttin' her stuff" you go girl! This era is gonna be on FIRE.

This month is going to be insane! What a great way to kick it off with the ACMs. I can't wait for the morning on May 1st! I can't believe it's almost here. Some time ago we were dreading how far away it was, now it's almost here! Time flies!

Just pre-ordered off iTunes and pre-ordered through her website the day they announced the album title and cover art.
Although I'm wondering if I should cancel my order of the copy through her website, because I miss going to the store to buy her albums on the day they come out. :( Even though I only really did that with Carnival Ride...but through her website, you sometimes get the album a few days early. I know with Play On I did.

I'm going to Best Buy at 8am on May 1st. I do not trust mail orders. I know I'll have the music the 1st through iTunes, but I want my physical copy as well. It will be in my hands no later than 8:10am.
Call me crazy, obsessed, whatever... But nothing will stop me on May 1st.

Is there any news on a deluxe version of the album? Nope. I don't think there will be one. Carrie, in response to a question at the fan club a while back basically said there wouldn't be one. Maybe someone can find specifically what I'm referring to. It had something to do with the label not wanting to spend that much money... Something along those lines. Anyway, the album is priced at 12 buck on iTunes with 14 songs. She has never released an album with this many songs (originally) on it. So this in itself is a "deluxe". SH had 13 new songs, and "Inside Your Heaven" was a bonus. CR has 13 songs not including the later released, "Sometimes You Leave". PO had 13 songs as well. So this is good! But no, I'm afraid for the time being there won't be a deluxe version.
