Very interesting read!
I love that this album will have more traditional songs as well. She said, "There's some more traditional stuff than I've ever done before."
This gets me so excited. Seeing her so proud and excited, I can't help but feel the same way!
This popped into my mind at the last part of the interview where she talked about her dogs and someday having kids. Does anyone think pregnancy and having children will affect her voice? Not necessarily in a negative way per say, look at Mariah. She claims her voice has improved through the entire process of bearing a child, or in her case; children. Not sure why this popped into my mind, but I'm interested to see what the future brings for her voice. Obviously her music is maturing with every "milestone" she comes to, but what about her voice?

On the topic of pregnancy, I wonder when the time will come? Could this be the last album we get from a motherless Carrie? Interesting to think about!

And more confirmation that the tour will start in the fall:
ETA: Blown Away is now #12 over-all on iTunes.

I was thinking the same thing. :'( But there are people out there having kids in their mid-late 30s these days (sometimes even 40s). She could very well have a few more albums/tours left in her after this, before starting a family, if she wanted to.

Carrie's about to perform at the Opry. (The Opry app is really convenient for streaming)
ETA: Setlist- Wasted "I can't wait to buy it (album) myself so I'll know I at least sold one." Haha! Good Girl I Told You So Before He Cheats

I didn't catch it, unfortunately. How did GG sound tonight on the Opry?

GG sounded awesome! I thought her ITYS was fantastic, too. She will probably lose her breath because she'll be moving around singing it on the ACM's. But it's a move-around song, not a vocal song, so that's ok for me.

I hope vinman capped the Opry performances tonight, as I, too, missed them. I am especially excited to hear 'Good Girl' and one of my favourite songs from Carrie or any artist from any genre actually, 'Wasted' !

I am especially excited to hear 'Good Girl' and may favourite song from Carrie or any artist from any genre actually, 'Wasted' ! Funny you mention "Wasted" I was talking with my grandmother a few days back and she asked me what Carrie was up to musically. Before I could get a word out, she said, "I wish she'd come out with more songs like "Wasted", that's my favorite from her." That song was probably her most underrated single to date. My grandmother is just a casual fan, and can rarely name specific songs. Hearing her specify a song and artist and claim it to be her favorite is a reflection of how great the song really is. Not saying my grandmother's opinion trumps all, I'm just saying there's something significant in her knowing the song. I find myself listening to it now, in all its perfection... wondering, "had it not followed BHC, could it have been bigger...?" Oh well, that was my random though of the night! Haha.

I hope he is/will be well because he is one of the most unbelievably devoted Carrie fans and has selflessly capped and organized loads of Carrie media for our enjoyment.

Her vocal control has improved so much over the years. She just keeps getting better! You can tell she's keeping her movements to a minimum and focusing more on the vocal. I love that!
The part where she's "screaming" is very difficult. Without adequate breath, anyone's voice would crack uncontrollably through it. I hope she's able to control it during the ACMs like she did here.

Good Girl is awesome live, can't wait for sunday to see it performed on television. On iTunes, Blown Away is currently #6, with Play on at #45, Carnival Ride at #85 and Some Hearts at #96 :o OFFSTAGE: Carrie Underwood's "Most Random Mix of Music Ever" March 28, 2012; Written by Alison Bonaguro It's hard to know if Carrie Underwood is just talking about her iPod or if she's subconsciously referring to her upcoming Blown Away album. In a recent radio interview, she said her music is kind of all over the place. "If you look on my iPod, I have the most random stuff. It's just the most random mix of music ever," she said. But she says that's what makes it possible for her to perform with Steven Tyler one day, then Tony Bennett the next. "Those are polar opposites, but I feel so comfortable in both places. My album's a lot like that. It's a big ol' puzzle. And everything has its own place. And has its own piece," Underwood revealed. "There's 'Good Girl,' then there's more traditional country stuff than I've ever done before. Still, having the album make sense, if that makes sense." (Rest assured, though, she says there is no rapping on this album.) Other hints she gives about the much-anticipated project: "The rest of the album is more stretching and growing and different influences -- but in different directions" and "It's a little more fierce, a little more serious." www.cmt.com/news/cmt-offstage/1681948/offstage-carrie-underwoods-most-random-mix-of-music-ever.jhtml

...how long do albums on pre-order usually chart? Because BA seems to be lasting (and climbing rapidly) a lot faster than I've ever seen.

Not sure how preranks work, but I am mad it hasn't hit #1 yet! :( What?! Its not even out for another month. It probably will be #1 once it´s actually released. I don´t think pre-order album usually go top 10 let alone #1 a month before released.

Not sure how preranks work, but I am mad it hasn't hit #1 yet! :( Who wants to buy an album they can't listen to for another month? It's #6 based on the power of her die-hard, most devoted fans and the promotions they're doing, mostly. There are exceptions, but most of the sales are generated by the most devoted fans. Then, of course, it being #6 places it in the top 10 which is available for millions to see - which also generates some sales. Top 10 at this point is very impressive. Keep in mind, these all count as first-week sales.

Yeah, her presale position is really impressive. Based on this performance and Good Girl's, I'd say this should open anywhere between 270-350k. Wide range, but until we see GG's sales over time and the kind of promo she has lined up, I'm giving myself some wiggle room. Really impressive, nonetheless.
The only comparison pre-order I can think of off the top of my head was for Madonna's recent album. Her album went to #1 fairly quickly on pre-orders, but that was with the Superbowl hype and performance. She's a huge name with a strong fanbase, but perhaps less relevant to a larger group of people than Carrie at this point. However, she hasn't had a big single. Anyway, she's predicted to sell around 325-350k, so based on everything (which isn't all that much), I wouldn't expect Carrie to go much higher than that.

I'm amazed at how steady and well 'BA' is doing on the preorder chart and how GG song and video is doing on itunes..given that it is only based on air play and no live performances/promotions. Amazing.
What a sweet, considerate thing for Carrie to do for Hollie, I'm sure Hollie was thrilled to receive that praise from Carrie. In all honesty I have to say that I agreed with Randy and Steven.
