Carly Rae Jepsen Is 'Hard At Work' In Candie's Fall Campaign Posted 7/2/13 10:00 am EST by Liza Darwin in Campaigns We might not be able to walk a mile in Carly Rae Jepsen's shoes (we wish!) but if there's anyone who can let us live vicariously through the pop star, it's Candie's. The brand nabbed the Canadian "Call Me Maybe" singer way back in January to rep the collection of Valentine's Day-inspired pieces. Now they've returned for round two, and this time, they're putting Carly to work...well, kind of?! We already know that Carly has adorable personal style on stage, smack dab on the cover of magazines, and just hanging out, so when Candie's shoots her in her natural element, you can bet she'll look amazing. The Fall 2013 campaign is aptly titled "Hard At Work," and showcases a day in the life of a pop star. Think recording studio time, writing music, and hitting the stage for a show—all with fun outfits to match! In these sneak peek ad images above, Carly's working little blue lace dresses, cool cut-out details, and casual jean shorts with a laid-back vibe. So which was her favorite? According to the singer herself, "I think, for me, the highlight of the shoot is kind of the girly moments. Like when I get to wear the dresses and things that are sometimes a little out of my comfort zone, but it's really fun to play with. I love the way they combine it with leather jackets and combat boots, so that if you aren't totally a girly-girl you still got that edge" Amen! You can get even more Carly for Candie's when her commercial airs during the Teen Choice Awards on August 11, but go behind the scenes of the campaign below. style.mtv.com/2013/07/02/carly-rae-jepsen-candies/

She will be performing in a big stadium here in Argentina in November with Justin Bieber, Cody Simpson & Owl City as part of a Festival :) That stadium is where Madonna filmed her Sticky & Sweet tour DVD.

Carly Rae Jepsen, USA Network Team for Secret Concert (Exclusive Photo) 7:00 AM PDT 8/15/2013 by Philiana Ng Carly Rae Jepsen The 27-year-old "Call Me Maybe" singer will headline an anti-bullying show at an undisclosed location in October. Carly Rae Jepsen is teaming with USA Network for a secret concert to shine a light on anti-bullying efforts through its Characters Unite initiative. In partnership with R&R Partners Foundation's youth anti-bullying organization Flip the Script and Cox Communications, #UniteLIVE: The Concert to Rock Out Bullying will take place at a yet-to-be-disclosed location on Oct. 3 as part of National Bullying Prevention Month, The Hollywood Reporter has learned. In addition to headlining the concert, the 27-year-old Jepsen -- whose radio hits include "Call Me Maybe" and "This Kiss" -- will take part in USA's "I Won't Stand for ..." public service announcements that will air on the network and online through October. Jepsen also taped a special video announcing the concert and contest being launched in conjunction. “An estimated 13 million kids will be bullied in America this year. Through our partnership with Flip the Script, Cox Communications and the incredibly talented singer/songwriter and performer Carly Rae Jepsen, USA’s Characters Unite campaign will help prevent bullying and promote greater respect and acceptance,” said Toby Graff, USA's senior vp public affairs. “We are proud to team up with a pop icon who reaches millions of young people worldwide and who is so passionate about raising awareness about the issue of bullying.” Beginning Thursday through Sept. 10, middle and high school students ages 13 to 18 can enter for a trip to the concert at www.charactersunite.com or www.flipthescriptnow.org. Cox subscribers can enter through www.coxsweepstakes.charactersunite.com. Ten winners will be chosen. While there are currently no plans to broadcast the concert on TV, the show itself will be filmed. Established in 2009, the Characters Unite campaign is dedicated to combating prejudice, discrimination and intolerance while promoting understanding and acceptance. Recently, USA stars gathered with NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment chairman Bonnie Hammer to discuss the campaign. www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/carly-rae-jepsen-usa-network-606593

It's a really cute cover of the original. For someone who hasn't had a hit since last year, she's done at well at staying at least partially relevant with little stuff like this and that baseball pitch.
I want new music soooooon though >:(

Is there a remake for The Little Mermaid? It's my fave disney film. Carly's version is great! Just downloaded it on iTunes. Nah originally it was going to be re released in theaters in 3d but go cancelled when monsters inc 3d didn't do fantastic Disney changed their minds, and are now doing a limited release in theaters! The Little Mermaid Is Returning to Theaters With An Interesting SpinSeptember 11, 2013 In celebration of the 30th anniversary of the Disney animated classic, “The Little Mermaid,” Disney will be releasing the film on for the first time on ever on Blu-ray 3D™, Blu-ray™, Digital Copy and High Definition Digital formats on October 1st. However, if you don’t want to wait that long, you will be excited to learn that Walt Disney Studios is inviting animation fans to experience the film “like never before” with a new interactive theatrical event for the whole family: “Second Screen Live: The Little Mermaid.” Beginning September 20, the musical adventure returns to select theaters for a special limited engagement, only this time viewers are encouraged to become a part of the story. This unique experience marks the debut of Disney Second Screen Live, a new second-screen technology that allows audiences to engage with the film, each other and their fellow audience members. By downloading the free “Second Screen Live: The Little Mermaid App” to an Apple iPad or iPad mini and bringing their Mermaid-loaded devices to participating theaters, fans and families can interact with the film, play games, find hidden treasure, sing along, and compete with the audience for the chance to win prizes. Perhaps it is just my age, but this sounds like a mistake to me. After all time the theaters try to impress upon the audience to “silence their cell phones” and to not talk during the movie, why are they suddenly encouraging audiences to interact? Granted, this sounds like a plan for movie re-releases only, much like a “sing along” performance and audience members will know what they are getting themselves into ahead of time. Still, this sounds like watching a movie in peace will become a thing of the past. At any rate, this new “magical” experience starts on September 20 at these select theaters only: Center 15: Cinema de Lux; White Plains, NY Farmingdale Multiplex Cinemas; Farmingdale, NY Arclight Beach Cities; El Segundo, CA Arclight Sherman Oaks; Sherman Oaks, CA Muvico Thousand Oaks 14; Thousand Oaks, CA AMC Empire 25; New York, NY AMC Garden State 16; Paramus, NJ AMC Burbank 16; Burbank, CA AMC Downtown Disney 12; Anaheim, CA AMC Bay Street 16; Emeryville, CA AMC Town Center 20; Leawood, KS Century Huntington Beach and XD; Huntington Beach, CA Cinemark West Plano and XD; West Plano, TX Carmike Wynnsong 16; Knoxville, TN Carmike 15; Columbus, GA And a special run is taking place at the El Capitan theater in Los Angeles, CA on Sundays & Thursdays from September 15th through October 13th. For more information about “The Little Mermaid: Second Screen Live!” theater screenings, locations and ticket purchases, click here.

Call Trent, Maybe: The case for Carly Rae Jepsen, Nine Inch Nails team-up.By Ernest Jasmin Wednesday, 11 September 2013 Carly Rae Jepsen called us. She definitely called us. We didn't have to guess like the heroine of her omnipresent breakthrough hit, “Call Me Maybe.” For the two Amish people and the guy awakening from a coma that have not heard it, that would be the best best-selling single of 2012, with more than 12.5 million units moved and a video that's approaching 500 million views on YouTube. Spoiler alert: It's going to be on the Canadian pop star's set list on Sept. 20 at the Washington State Fair. But we had plenty of other cool stuff to talk about, too; you, Nine Inch Nails, mermaids, the worst opening pitch of all time. Just the obvious stuff. Tacoma Weekly: I just saw a clip of you throwing the opening pitch at a Devil Rays game. (The ball hits the ground roughly 80 feet short and rolls over the first base line 10 feet off target – unless she meant to hit that camera.)Jepsen: That was impressive, wasn't it?TW: Very. Have you been practicing your curve ball just in case?Jepsen: Oh, obviously I've been working my whole life for that moment. (She laughs)TW: I think there was too much pressure. You built it up too much. That's what it was. What are the odds you'll do that again?Jepsen: Oh, I want redemption. I'm goin' back for sure. (Laughs)TW: One thing I know you have been doing, though, is working on new music. Should we expect new songs when you get to the Washington State Fair?Jepsen: Yeah, last night we were in Cape Cod, and (co-writer) Tavish (Crowe) and me had written a song that morning on the bus, and we decided, just spontaneously, to sing it for everybody. We used to do that all the time when we started out together, about four years back. So it was really kind of a nostalgic moment to do something that brave again. It was fun.TW: Do you have an album title yet or a release date? I think I've read that you've been working on it since the last one came out.Jepsen: Yeah, that's kind of how I work. It's just sort of a constant thing; and then, when an album cycle comes around, I have a whole lot of songs to pick from. But, no, it's a little too soon for me to know any title or any release date. I'm having a lot of fun creating music, and I'm sure all that stuff will come together in no time.TW: I read that you grew up listening to stuff like James Taylor and Van Morrison, which might surprise people given the style of music you do. Might you get more in touch with your singer-songwriter style?Jepsen: I think I'm writing, like, three albums at once, and one of them is (that style). One of them is a little dancier, and then one's just pure pop. At the end of the day, production can kind of change anything. But it'll be about the strength of the song more than anything else.TW: On the last CD you worked with Owl City and Justin Beiber. Are you collaborating with any new people that you can mention?Jepsen: Actually, the first person … I'm working with is Adam (Young of Owl City) again. He's going to be flying down to L.A. for a couple of days, and we're gonna work together. Actually, “Good Time” (from last year's “Kiss” album) was just his song. I think he worked on it with a couple of other writers, too, but they just asked me to feature on it. I wasn't actually part of the writing on that song. We've never really written together before, so this will be our first time trying that, and I think we're both really excited.TW: So many people know you for “Call Me Maybe,” your hit that was just everywhere. When did you realize you had something special with that song?Jepsen: One of the first moments was seeing Katy Perry do a cover of it. Justin, of course, had done one earlier; but, as soon as I saw her version I thought, “Oh, maybe this will be something that will catch on.” So that was an exciting.
I also felt a thrill the first time I was in Mexico City, and I was Justin's special surprise. I came out just to sing that one song, and it was crazy. There was about 300,000 people in the audience, and they were all singing along to every word, and it was my first time in Mexico. So that felt pretty incredible.TW: There have been a lot of mashups, but my favorite was on the Spin web site. They've got one with “Call Me Maybe” and Nine Inch Nails. Have you heard that one?Jepsen: (Laughs) You know who was especially happy with that? (Producer) Dave Ogilvie, who was the mixer of both songs; he mixed “Call Me Maybe,” and he mixed (for) Nine Inch Nails. … So he called me and was like, “Oh my gosh! My two artists ... and they're combining them.” It's hilarious. We were just giggling about that.TW: I was checking your tour itinerary, and it looks like you'll be off the road around the time Nine Inch Nails is really getting going. I'm just throwing that out there. So what else do you have coming up for the rest of this year?Jepsen: My inner 6-year-old kind of died of happiness. I got to be Ariel in “The Little Mermaid.” That was kind of fun. Disney's … releasing the diamond edition collection (an enhanced, HD version of the animated classic, due on Oct. 1), and they asked me to play the part of Ariel for a “Part Of Your World” music video, which was totally fun. It's actually the reason I dyed my hair red.TW: So the single is going to be in the movie re-release?Jepsen: Yeah, it's just gonna be kind of attached to (it), kind of how Christina Aguilera was in “Mulan,”
I was either three or four when it first came out, so it was definitely the Disney show I grew up falling in love with. I can even remember pretending I was Ariel when I was little and at the lake for a beach day. It was totally a fantasy of mine, so it's pretty cool that it actually got to happen. Who knows? One day I can have my little babies around and be like, “Oh look, mum's Ariel.”

Sigh. I like some of Adam's work (mainly his ballads, i.e. "Lonely Lullaby" and "Vanilla Twilight"), but if "Good Time" is any indication, no thank you.

Got to finally see her in concert, since I had taken a trip to Seattle WA last weekend and her last tour stop was at the Washington State Fair!
I had so much fun (despite almost going deaf due to so many screaming girls), and I'm really happy I was able to see her on this headlining tour.
My favorite performances were definitely "Your Heart is a Muscle" "Almost Said It" "This Kiss" "Good Time" (love her band member Jared Manierka PLUS balloons!), "Tonight I'm Getting Over You" and of course, the crowd-interacted "Call Me Maybe"!

Carly Rae Jepsen Honored at Canada's Walk of FamePosted Sunday September 22, 2013 9:46 AM GMT No, it's not the Hollywood landmark, but Carly Rae Jepsen was still honored on the Walk of Fame on Saturday (September 21), only in Toronto, Canada. The "Call Me Maybe" singer wore a long sleeveless silvery gown with plenty of fringe on the skirt as she posed for pics on the red carpet. Founded in 1998, Canada's Walk of Fame celebrates Canadian excellence and inspires the next generation of emerging talent in music; sports; film; television; the literary, visual, and performing arts; and science and innovation. Bringing along a very special date to the event, Carly tweeted, "Incredible night at The Walk of Fame with Dad!"

Carly actually has another Christmas song with "Let It Snow". Nice to hear she is on Flo Rida's next album. I remember when they sang together at the Muchmusic Video Awards back in 2012.

Wow! New Role for Carly Rae Jepsen: Cinderella
The pop singer Carly Rae Jepsen, who rose to fame in 2012 with her pop single "Call Me Maybe," will go from the concert stage to the theater stage early next year, when she makes her Broadway debut in the title role of "Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella," the show’s producers announced on Sunday.
Ms. Jepsen will step into the glass slippers beginning Feb. 4 for a 12-week run, joining the previously announced Fran Drescher, who will also make her debut on that date and has been cast as the cruel stepmother. Ms. Jepsen is to replace Laura Osnes, who will complete her yearlong run in January.
According to a news release, Ms. Jepsen, 28, grew up with dreams of acting on Broadway and performed in high school productions of "Annie," "Grease" and "The Wiz" in British Columbia before turning her focus to creating her own music. She also attended the Canadian College of Performing Arts after high school.
"It was essentially musical theater training with studies in singing, dancing and acting," she said by email on Sunday. "My favorite part of the school year was our trip to New York, where we met Broadway performers and toured the theatres." She cited her love of Cinderella's story as a reason for choosing this particular production as her Broadway debut. "It's so hopeful and inspiring," she said. "I've always been one to believe in the impossible, so I relate to her character completely."

I don't watch the Tonys, but if she should get nominated, that might change. And since it's only for 3 months, there's still room for her to have another summer hit. I'll be waiting ;)
