I think it might be able to debut top 10. However, I feel like right now she's just a song, not an artist, to the public Basically where Katy Perry was at this point in her career: A (multi-week #1) song. And then One of the Boys debuted at #9. It'll be interesting to see how Carly's debut compares.

It gives me Debbie Gibson "Out of the Blue" vibes.

Being her debut, I'm not expecting a huge debut, but as long as she keeps performing well, to have consistent sales a few weeks after the debut.

It seems bizarre to me to call a feature that is primarily promoted as an Owl City song your second single that is supposed to anchor a release of an album that is supposed to launch the next pop superstar. "Good Time" is a duet between Owl City and Carly Rae Jepsen. Whether or not she has as prominent a part in the song as he does, it's still as much hers as it is his. I think it's a great choice for the second single. I hope you are right! I just have seen it on tons of websites labelled as Owl City ft Carly and Djs announcing it as Owl City's new song with an appearance by Carly. I have even seen it just credited to Owl City and Carly not mentioned at all when people are discussing it. This was mostly around when it was coming out and it was really obvious it was Owl City's song and they just asked her to add in a few feature vocals though. Hopefully, when they decided not to release another solo single they started pushing it to be seen as a Carly song. I care more about her music than theirs so I hope it works ha ha. She looks GREAT on the cover. Very excited to see what they come up with for the cd.

I like the cover! Not bad for a debut album cover. I want a track listing soon.

Was she on single #2 when the album came out? No I guess not: "Hot N Cold" went for adds on September 9, and One of the Boys was released on June 17.

OOTB opened with 47k iirc. For some reason I see her passing that since she's got loads of promo lined up in the next month. I think she'll surprise with her opening week numbers.
Edit: I strongly dislike the album title and cover tho.

She should get more than Katy's opening week numbers, because IKAG didn't start to impact radio until mid-May & hit #1 a couple weeks after the album release. (Although this was 2008 and album sales have decreased)

I feel like she's being put out as a goody pop star, ala Britney at her debut.

Carly Rae Jepsen Is Dating Musician Matthew KomaBy Dahvi Shira 08/18/2012 at 11:00 AM EDT Love is more than a maybe for Carly Rae Jepsen and Matthew Koma. The "Call Me Maybe" singer, 26, has said she's been in a relationship for more than a year, but failed to name her boyfriend. Sources reveal to PEOPLE her mystery man is musician Matthew Koma. "He introduced her as his girlfriend," a source told PEOPLE. "He seemed really excited about it, and she was smiling from ear to ear by his side during the introduction. He seems like a really nice and personable guy." The couple was also spotted holding hands in the lobby by a party guest at the GetGlue HD Launch Party at the Standard, East Village in New York City. Later, Jepsen's parents joined the singer and Koma for dinner at The Stanton Social. "Many people recognized Carly and she posed for pictures with fans," an onlooker at the Lower East Side eatery says. Jepsen gushed to PEOPLE about her beau in May, but did not address him by name. "He makes me laugh every day and not always on purpose, but he's my guy," she said. "He's been really amazing and very supportive." While Koma is featured on the electronic dance hit, "Spectrum" by Zedd, rock 'n' roll dominates on his debut EP, Parachute. A rep for Jepsen has not returned a request for comment. www.people.com/people/article/0,,20621748,00.html

Britney was a child when she came out, this is a grown ass 26 year old with a growth le retard issue. Outside of CMM, i like this chick, she has that sexy tone to her voice, and her material when the label isnt fiddling around with it will grow. Love her on Good Times and her Idol days.

Let Go debuted at #8 with 62,000, Katy at #9 with 47,000, and lest we forget Lady GaGa's The Fame with an opening debut of 24,000 and #17 chart position. With debuts, it's all about that second single. That's the song that creates an artist and era. Right now she's just a song, but she has the potential to be huge with the right follow up.

Curiosity made it on! Good. Wish Picture had too :( I'm surprised the deluxe tracks aren't just songs from Curiosity. I thought that's what it would be.

Curiosity made it on! Good. Third single PLEASE Let's hear the rest of the songs before making bold statements like that. It's a good song but didn't it not perform the best in other countries?
