Carly Rae Jepsen Calls Her New Man 'Really Great'By PAUL CHI 08/26/2012 at 02:15 PM EDT Listen up fellas, "Call Me Maybe" singer Carly Rae Jepsen says she only gives out her phone number to men who are assertive. "I really like guys who have confidence, but not the cocky over-the-top confidence," Jepsen, 26, told PEOPLE at the U.S. Open's annual Arthur Ashe Kids Day on Saturday in Queens, N.Y. "Guys with the right type of confidence are really sexy." One man with the right amount of self-assurance and charm seems to be singer-songwriter Matthew Koma, 25, whom Jepsen recently started dating. When asked about her new beau, she coyly said, "He's a really great guy and really talented." When Jepsen – whose U.S. album debut, Kiss, drops Sept. 18 – is not singing about crushes and love at first sight, she enjoys going on romantic dates that are "fun and easy going." "I love to go on spontaneous dates and do things that we've never tried before or stay at home and make a homemade dinner," says the Canadian star. "I really like to cook. One of my favorite things to make is homemade sushi. I know how to make the rolls and it's really fun to do." www.people.com/people/article/0,,20624426,00.html Carly Rae Jepsen on song, sports, BieberBy Lynn Hoppes | ESPN.com Canadian pop singer Carly Rae Jepsen is having a "Good Time" and having no problems these days getting someone to call her back. On Saturday, Jepsen was in New York City to perform at the Arthur Ashe Kids' Day in preparation for the start of the U.S. Open. Her duet with Owl City for "Good Time" is playing on ESPN's platforms for the month of August. The "Call Me Maybe" singer, 26, came in third on "Canadian Idol" in 2007 and is signed to Justin Bieber's Schoolboy Records. Her debut album, "Kiss," is coming out Sept. 18. Playbook had a few minutes with Jepsen. What do you think of all those athletes coming up with different videos for your monster hit "Call Me Maybe"? Swimmers. Baseball players. Miami Dolphins cheerleaders. "I love seeing the 'Call Me Maybe' remakes. It honestly makes my day each time I discover a new one. It’s really fun to watch." You had a song called 'Tug of War.' Did you ever play that as a kid? Were you much of an athlete? "'Tug of war,' the song, is more about the push and pull in relationships than the actual game, but, yeah, as a kid I was a bit of a tomboy, so I would have pulled my weight on the rope end." Some of your tour dates are with fellow Canadian Justin Bieber. What's it been like with him? "Justin has been my greatest supporter. He really opened the door for me. It's been amazing getting to know him as a musician, performer and friend. Can't wait to hit the road in the fall. 'Believe' is a wicked album, and I'm really excited to go live with my new album, 'Kiss.'" Being from Canada, are you into hockey? Or are there other sports you like? "You can't be Canadian and not appreciate hockey. One goes hand-in-hand with the other. My brother, cousins and parents all play hockey. I grew up singing national anthems." What are your thoughts on traveling the United States? What's been your favorite part? "It's been amazing to see parts of the world I have never visited before. I am falling in love with Los Angeles. Sun every day and city full of other songwriters. My kind of heaven." espn.go.com/blog/playbook/sounds/post/_/id/2774/carly-rae-jepsen-on-song-sports-bieber

Apparently this is the tracklisting: 01. Tiny Little Bows 02. This Kiss 03. Call Me Maybe 04. Curiosity 05. Good Time (with Owl City) 06. More Than A Memory 07. Turn Me Up 08. Hurt So Good 09. Beautiful (feat. Justin Bieber) 10. Tonight I'm Getting Over You 11. Guitar String / Wedding Ring 12. Your Heart Is A Muscle ----------- DELUXE TRACKS ----------- 13. Drive 14. Wrong Feels So Right 15. Sweetie 16. I Know You Have A Girlfriend 95% correct or so! 16 is "Almost Said It" and 12 doesn't have "Your." :) Doesn't confirm Justin being a feature, but Owl City isn't mentioned either, so it's probably correct, plus I definitely would expect him to be a feature regardless. Assuming her picture is 100% correct, of course.

What did they do to "Curiosity"... :O I skipped that one because I knew it already. I like the new one, but not as much as the old one. Definitely not deleting the Curiosity EP now! Not that I was going to with the other songs, but still lol. This makes me even more certain.

This album sounds so good from the previews. I think it will produce at least 3 more #1's. Most of the songs are just so radio friendly.

The album sounds surprisingly good, laid back, light hearted and fun. It's a shame it is being released on the fall, it would have made for an awesome spring/summer playlist.
They should release the new version of Curiosity, More Than a Memory and Tonight I'm Getting Over You as the follow up singles, and she could have a really big era. I just pray, for the love of God, for them not to release the Bieber duet just for hype's sake. It's not a single worthy song at all.

I like what I hear from the previews. Curiosity sounds totally different than the one on the EP otherwise the songs sound really nice. Her song with Max Martin is really nice. Looking forward to hearing the album in full. I see a few more hits for Carly if they release the right songs.

Didn't care too much for the previews and I'm not here AT ALL for the new Curiosity!!! But the singles should go:
Call Me Maybe Good Time Tonight I'm Getting Over You (obvious choice for next single) Turn Me Up/More Than A Memory to end the era

Lovely album, but can't decide if it's the next Teenage Dream or not. It'll depend on the single-choices and timing. 1. Call Me Maybe 2. Good Time (fall) 3. Curiosity (winter; if it reach at least #15, more songs) 4. Your Heart is a Muscle (spring) 5. Tonight I'm Getting Over You / Guitar String / Turn Me Up (summer, maybe)
Something idealistic. :)

The album sounds a lot more old school pop than I expected lol, most of it definitely doesn't sound like 2012 dance music, but it's cute. I do wish she had more songs like the ones on her EP though mixed with the dance songs. However my favorites now seem are Tiny Little Bows, Sweetie, Guitar String/Wedding Ring, Turn Me Up, and Your Heart Is A Muscle.

I totally wasn't expecting there to be this many perfect poppy songs! I could see her having a ton of hits from this. Esp. with Toninght I'm Getting Over You. I love More Than a Memory too!

Listened through all the previews. Not much I care for. "Turn Me Up" was probably the strongest track, but overall the CD felt lacking.

I really like the Sweetie preview, but maybe not single material.
Here are my single choices: Call Me Maybe Good Time Tonight I'm Getting Over You - Fall '12 Beautiful - Winter 13' Your Heart is a Muscle/Turn Me Up/Curiosity Spring & Summer 13'

Based on the clips, Turn Me Up, Your Heart Is a Muscle and Tonight I'm Getting Over You - sounds like the best songs from the album.

Hurt so Good HAS to be a single at some point! It's a perfect poppy sing-along jam! That, and Tonight I'm Getting Over You are totally the highlights of the album after hearing them all in depth. More Than a Memory would make a good 5th final single after the other 2 obvious next singles.

So I've been listening to the clips more and they really grew on me. The only clips I don't really care for now are Beautiful and surprisingly...Tonight I'm Getting Over you, which just seems really overrated but maybe I'll like the full more. Either way, Carly will still slay me with most of the album. :'(

I agree, the album sounds amazing. "Beautiful" is definitely my least favorite, although listening a couple more times it's definitely grown on me.

She could get at least 3 number ones from this album. Honestly, she could release 3/4 of this album including the bonus tracks and get them all in the Top 15 of the BB Hot 100. Nu ...Baby On More Time. LOVE.
