We're pretty much exclusively discussing her new album in the Speak Now thread now, so I figured it was time to start a thread for the new album. Suck it Billy.

I hope her new material follows in a similar direction as her songs from The Hunger Games.

Ok, so, news should start rolling in the next few months. I wonder what's gonna be titled.

I hope all her new songs don't sound the same. Comments like this... Have you ever listened to Speak Now? It's a really diverse album. I'm so so excited and hope Taylor does a live video chat again. It was great.

I am mostly looking forward to her duet(at least I hope so) with Ed Sheeran.
I think we have less than a month now until some kind of announcement is made.
Exciting times!

I don't think all her songs sound the same, but I do hope she starts highlighting the different sounding songs more. Like, more Hunger Games type songs or her more strikingly different songs and less single choices like Story of Us. That is my one hope for the cd though I am sure it will be good either way.

I'm really looking forward to this.
Is it just me that doesn't like EYES OPEN? i love Safe and Sound, but i don't like EO.
I hope her new material will be a mix of 'country like her first album' and 'country-pop like Fearless'.

Just watched the Safe & Sound video.. I had no idea such a perfect thing existed for the last 4 months. I really got sad throughout the whole thing as it was perfectly suited for the song which always makes me sad on its own but now with the video, my sorrow exploded to a whole other level. I'm officially a fan.

Eyes Open is amazing. Should have done so much better. That song was killed by radio's insistence on playing the movie version with soundbytes instead of the regular version.

"Eyes Open" is a good song, although Nathan Chapman (and herself?) sorta dropped the ball with the production. The acoustic version was great, but they could also have gone to the other extreme, lacing the song with far more crunch and grit. As it is, it sounds frustratingly meek.
Anyway, I'm positively giddy for this project. She seems to have stepped up her fashion game lately, let's pray her musical instinct follows suit.

She seems to have stepped up her fashion game lately Taylor dresses like a grandma. I...just don't get it. It's a little concerning to know Selena Gomez dresses better. I really do think this album will be her best, but hopefully gets out of this "60s" phase she's been going through since SN was released.

She's been channeling her inner Stevie Nicks, I noticed in a few photos.

I was excited before it came out, thinking T-Bone produced that one as well, but I knew the second I heard it that it was all Nathan. He is not a top notch producer, especially when it comes to pop rock songs. Hopefully he left those for Butch Walker on the new album, at least. The fact that she's finally using different producers (and songwriters) for this album gives me more hope for it than anything else.

"Eyes Open" may not be a strong song but it is way better than "Both Of Us". "Both Of Us" is just missing something that could make it sound way better.

I guess what is missing for me in BOU is the lack of distinction it needed. The song felt too formulaic and I felt as though the hook and verses were stitched together recklessly. They could have added some kind of bridge that involved Taylor singing something different. It's definitely a mediocre collaboration. The song's radio performance hasn't been lighting up the charts either. Its had no performances or promotion, save for the MV, which I find to be average at best. All in all an underwhelming effort.

Possible Ed Sheeran collaboration?? OK, I'm interested.
+1 to the "more like Hunger Games" material, though I'll admit I haven't gone far beyond her singles discography.

I definitely agree with this. I was obsessed with the song when it first came out, but soon I found it was just missing that extra bit of punch. They really missed an opportunity to go much harder on the rock side, though you could hear it wanting to emerge. Still a great song, though, and I really like the Nevins remix as well.

I seriously have such a sweet spot for Back To December in my heart. I think it's her best single to date. The lyrics, the melody, the phrasing, the video, it's just all so...beautifully painful. I love it so much.
It's also one of the few songs that's made me cry, particularly because I can totally relate, but it's just so...sigh. :'(
