Get Your Shine On is currently a "Highway Find" on Sirius. It's another one that's just sort of there. For me.

I'm not really a big fan of the other songs on 'Itz Jus Wut Wii Doo'. I wonder if they'll include some songs from their 2010 EP Anything Like Me on the new album. Would love to see "Black Tears" on there – man what a powerful song that is.

Would love to see "Black Tears" on there – man what a powerful song that is. The track list was already posted: 1. Cruise (Tyler Hubbard/Brian Kelley/Joey Moi/Chase Rice/Jesse Rice) 2. 'Round Here (Thomas Rhett/Rodney Clawson/Chris Tompkins) 3. Get Your Shine On (Tyler Hubbard/Brian Kelley/Rodney Clawson/Chris Tompkins) 4. Here’s To The Good Times (Rodney Clawson/Chris Tompkins/Lynn Hutton) 5. It’z Just What We Do (Tyler Hubbard/Brian Kelley/Rodney Clawson) 6. Stay (Joey Moi/John Fred Young/Chris Robertson/Jon Lawhon/Ben Wells) 7. Hell Raisin’ Heat Of The Summer (Rodney Clawson/Chris Tompkins/Craig Wiseman) 8. Tell Me How You Like It (Tyler Hubbard/Brian Kelley/Chris Tompkins) 9. Tip it Back (Tyler Hubbard/Brian Kelley/Rodney Clawson) 10. Damn, Baby (Tyler Hubbard/Brian Kelley/Rodney Clawson/David Lee Murphy) 11. Party People (Luke Laird/Shane McAnally/J.T. Harding) It's the 5 tracks (#1, 3, 5, 8, & 9 above) from the It'z Just What We Do EP, plus 6 new tracks, to make the full record.

Ooh, John Fred Young from Black Stone Cherry. His dad and uncle are in the Kentucky Headhunters, whom I've always enjoyed.

Just heard this one the radio for the first time yesterday and I have to say, I was expecting a lot better given the reception this has gotten on Pulse and with country radio. The song started off kind of nice with the opening chorus, but then it quickly divulged into a clusterf**k of noises in the production throughout the majority of the song and the average lyrics and decent vocals weren't enough to elevate it much. I struggled to finish listening to the song. I'm definitely not here for this song. Big disappointment for me.

I can't get past their vocals to like the song. I can admit that it's catchy, and it's not quite an instant station-changer, but ... it's so LOUD and, really, nobody is going to go up to a girl and say "baby you a song, you make me wanna roll my windows down and CRUUUUUIIIIISE." I can suspend belief on ocassion. This is not one of those times. Haha. (Although, my husband did come up with a version for our puppy - "Kona you're a dog, you make me wanna roll the window down so you can cruuuuuise..." ) Well I went back and looked at my comments when I first heard this song and said I thought it was catchy. Now I am finding it just annoying. I hear that first line "Baby you a song" and it just makes me cringe. While most song lyrics have nothing in common with correct grammar, this line just doesn't even make sense. At least they could just sing "you're" and it wouldn't be so grating to my ears. And I love Kona's song. My husband and I make up lyrics to current songs like that all the time. LOL!

Oh boy. I think I'm starting to like this now. Sorry carriekins. I'm not sure how to respond to this! Er, you're fired? Or something? Or... dude, you're totally allowed to like what you like. I find myself singing along with it on the radio every now and again. But ... yeah. Still not a fan. ;)

I may not be so lucky next go round, though. Anyways, I just like it. I'm not obsessed with it or anything. I've had an idea for using it as a wake-up call where a song I can't stand anymore or hated from first listen gets me up and going (may serve no purpose, but it gets someone up which is better than hitting the snooze button over and over ). In my mind, I don't see this group lasting much longer after this single and I can tell that once it starts to burn, it may be mistaken as a Taylor Swift song getting yanked from radio. ;)

I like this song well enough but it's probably only a B+ at best in my book.
Anyway, "Cruise" is absolutely killing it on iTunes right now, and I'm just amazed. It's #13 all-genre, and would be #11 if you take out the 2 Taylor album tracks that are still very high (I Knew Your Were Trouble is #6 and Red is #10, while We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together is #4, obviously helped by the fact that it's still a big hit on Pop radio). None of those 3 Taylor songs are singles at country radio currently, so essentially, FGL is #1 on the country iTunes chart and again, at #13 all-genre. For other comparisons, Carrie's "Blown Away" is #26, Hunter's "Wanted" is #28, Taylor's "Begin Again" is #29, Lee's "Hard To Love" is #41, Gary's "Every Storm" is at #50, Luke's "Kiss Tomorrow Goodbye" is at #52, Jason's "Take A Little Ride" is at #56, and LBT's "Pontoon" has shot back up to #59.
So, I disagree that these guys aren't gonna be around very long. I think they're gonna be pretty big--this is a big smash hit right here, and their sound is popular right now. They're also on one of the best labels (Republic) when it comes to success and breaking in artists. Look what they've done with The Band Perry, the Eli Young Band, and now Greg Bates, too.
FGL's digital-only EP is a hot seller right now, with pretty much all the tracks doing great on iTunes, especially considering that none of them are getting any significant airplay. Also, there aren't a lot of duos out there right now, so I really see radio embracing FGL, since they have a strong fanbase already. I think Thompson Square is gonna remain quite popular, and Love & Theft has a good chance too, but aside from them and the currently-on-hiatus Sugarland, there aren't really any big duos.
I just think all the signs look good for FGL. And I think their album, set to hit stores on December 4, will be a pretty big seller (by debut/newcomer standards).

The only thing is, Taylor needs to lose her iron grip on #1. Which should happen in roughly 387 weeks.

I heard on the radio that this was the fastest rising song by a duo in over 21 years? Not sure if they meant debut single, or exactly what the details include. This has just been screaming up the chart though at an amazing pace... looks like it's in line to be #1 after Jake Owen? (Sorry I've been absent from the forum for a few weeks... things have been crazy after the Hurricane and everything here.)

^Hey Joey! I was thinking about you during that storm. Hope things are ok up there!
And yeah, this looks like it will follow either Jake or Miranda at #1. Luke will get a 2nd week at #1 on Mediabase this weekend, and score his 1st week at #1 on Billboard, but then Jake Owen should take over. Miranda has actually lost audience over the last 2 days, and is negative for the week, but with her being on the same label (RCA) as Jake is, they might just be holding Miranda back a bit, so that she's not so close to Jake.
I haven't really thought Miranda's song has acted like a #1, and while FGL is closing fast, Miranda can still sneak in at #1 with a push. If her and Jake weren't on the same label, I wouldn't think she'd make it, but it's still quite possible. We'll see if FGL can put the pressure on or even catch Miranda...but I wouldn't be surprised to see Jake finish next week at #1 on both charts, and then RCA gives Miranda that last push beginning the week of Thanksgiving.

Glad to hear you're OK, Joey!
Could this be the longest running #1 in quite awhile? It's still relatively new, and there isn't (in my mind, anyway) a strong #1 contender coming up behind them until the ZBB. If Luke, Jake and Miranda each take one week, that puts it at #1 in four charts. I can see it staying on top for a couple of weeks on its own, and then that puts us into the holiday slowdown. I think this could rack up multiple weeks on top as a result. This has the buzz/airplay/sales to turn it into a huge hit.

I don't see any way that Kip Moore is gonna miss out on #1, but I guess we'll have to wait and see. I firmly believe he's gonna get there. Justin, I'm not so sure about yet.

There's a 6 million impression gap between ZBB and Kip Moore, 7 million between ZBB and Justin Moore (although I have my doubts about this one going far). ZBB will have to average gaining 1.5 mill a week to close that gap in the 4 weeks it probably has to get the job done.
I don't think it'll happen. For that reason Kip looks like a strong #1 contender to me.

Thanks guys! It's finally calmed down here, but I'm blaming all these songs about wild weather for the meteorological craziness lately... Anyways, +950K update for FGL this morning, after mega-gains all week. This song is just blowing up the chart... I can't remember the last debut single I've seen soar like this, especially in our ice age of slow-climbers.

So I just heard this for the first time (I was only immune to it up until this point because I've been giving the radio a rest up until today! ;) ) Vile! Absolutely vile! "Baby, you a song!" Did they even proofread these lyrics on Microsoft Word before putting them to tape? Yeah, I guess Keith Urban committed the same grammatical cardinal sin by titling an otherwise solid single "You Gonna Fly", but why can't we get past this? Yet................(grunts)............. I concede it is unquestionably catchy in its composition. IT'S JUST NOT FAIR! I CAN'T WIN, CAN I?!!! :'( :'( :'(Namaste, Noah Hibiscus Eaton

"Cruise" may have a decent shot of dislodging "WANEGBT" from the Hot Country Songs chart in 2-3 weeks. From this morning's data, airplay for WANEGBT is 120.994 (- 7.281 in 2 days) while Cruise is at 60.162 (+ 0.647). WANEGBT airplay decline is accelerating and may lose 25-30 million a week. In two weeks, perhaps WANEGBT will be at 70-75 million AIs while Cruise will be at 65. If the gap in track sales increases with Taylor's latest release, then Cruise may get #1 on that infamous chart.

Well, those big numbers are Mediabase all-genre, and so there are gonna be a ton of inconsistencies and variables when translating that to Billboard. I acknowledge that FGL may have a shot to knock Taylor from #1 on the dumb-chart, but I don't think it's gonna be this easy.

"Baby, you a song!" Did they even proofread these lyrics on Microsoft Word before putting them to tape? Based on their EP title, I think they forgot the spell check too... I want to take this moment to correct myself in my last post: "You Gonna Fly" was not a Keith Urban co-write, and my antagonization ought to be directed to the songwriting team responsible for the poor grammar ensconced in its title! ;) Apologies are in order, Mr. Urban! :( Anyway, I've taken some of their deeper cuts a listen, and all in all...........just painful. "Tip It Back" was the solitary bright spot in that I felt that was actually sincere and well-written, and I know they wrote "Black Tears" which is also a pretty potent record (although Jason Aldean interprets the song much better as a vocalist given his self-serious nature). Otherwise..........AAAAARRRGGGGHHHHH!!! Yeah, Florida Georgia Line, we know very well at the time you composed "Tell Me How You Like It" what you REALLY wanted to say! (something to do with a cowgirl especially). And once again, on "Get Your Shine On", there they go again with the crimes against grammatical humanity with "You and me be rockin' all night long!"...........aside from mind-boggling bad lyrics like this: * "Feeling lucky, got hooked up with some Kentucky, Clear. So slide that little sugar shaker over here... And get your shine on!"* ................WHAT?!!! Finally, there's the title track..............which I'm not even going to get into because..........let's just say there's more than that titular crime against grammar intact in the lyrics. Also, what is up with this: * "Tip back a cup a' Jack and throw your hands up with it."* ....................ARRRGGGGHHH!!! I'm hereby minting this duo the 3OH!3 of country radio (in case you're unfamiliar with 3OH!3, they are a frat-pop duo known for their hilariously bad beyond parody stupid party-hardy lyrics and are best known for their hit "Don't Trust Me"). And no, that ain't a compliment! ;) Namaste, Noah Hibiscus Eaton

^ Surprised you went with 3OH!3 instead of LMFAO, as much as you profess to hate them and call them "beyond parody". "I'm Sexy and I Know It" is one of the ugliest pieces of music in modern history, and the video's even worse.
I actually like "Cruise" and don't think the lyrics are that bad.
