I agree; three weeks sounds fair. Two is for sure, but I see three happening here. It's been a monstrously massive hit for them. I'm curious to see what happens after this.

Is it just me, or is there a LOT more complaining over "Baby, you a song" than there was over "You Gonna Fly"?

Just sayin'. LOL. I'm very well aware of that, tyvm. Anyway, I'm more talking about what the follow-up(s) will be and if they'll be able to compete with the numerous country groups atm. More specifically, will the hype from "Cruise" guarantee at least a top 10 peak for the next single? Could they also be able to move albums as well as singles? I personally don't see that happening, but it very well could for all I know.

Is it just me, or is there a LOT more complaining over "Baby, you a song" than there was over "You Gonna Fly"? Because the Keith Urban song doesn't suck like this one does. And these guys (with their song titles including a 'z' in place of an 's' in one instance) seem to be making a statement out of their awful grammar and spelling. Keith Urban's doesn't go out of its way to bother anyone.

I'm actually surprised the song wasn't spelled like this: "Crooze". Now that would've been a catastrophe.

maybe it will only get a bullet on tonight's chart and then possibly be #1 for 2 straight non-bulleted weeks. That's what I'm thinking too. I doubt it can gain much more audience this week. but at the same time, the huge gap should keep it on top for a couple more weeks. It'll be interesting to see if Justin or Kip start pushing for better gains this week.

I'm expecting their album to open very impressively, actually. To be honest, I can't say I dislike them..."Get Your Shine On" is right in the same vein as "Cruise" and sounds like it'd tear up the chart as well. These are the only songs I've heard from them though. To put it simply: no, I don't dislike them, but at the same time, I personally won't be running out to get the album like I did with JT Hodges' debut or like I will do when Greg Bates' album finally comes out.
I'll probably give the album a chance though, as I do that with pretty much everything. My guess is that I'll only like a few songs simply for their catchy hooks. "Cruise" isn't too bad but I'm tired of it now. But again, with "Get Your Shine On" set to be the 2nd single, I see no way that it isn't a hit. And their touring numbers have been great...they've been selling out small venues and bars left and right. I really think that their album will open rather spectacularly, in fact. A release only 3 weeks before Christmas certainly won't hurt, either.

Impressive numbers for this song, to say the least. Based on tonight's chart, I'd say that my hope of ZBB denying both Moore songs is now very faint. Justin looks very solid at this point.
And because of the pressure on J Moore to move up in order to fend off ZBB, I think Cruise is likely to be held to 3 weeks at the top. ZBB's numbers are lower than I thought but I don't think that's going to save Cruise.
I wish I could be happier about this song's arrival at the top, but I just can't listen to it anymore. I know I get burnt out on songs faster than most posters here, but this one is one of the songs I have really really really gotten sick of. I can't wait for a freefall.

Well, the ad for Justin in Billboard said Max Spins starting 12/9. Looks like they are gonna try to hold this to two weeks.

I'm totally digging and grooving on their record. I don't care if they used 'bad grammar' on songs or song titles, it's music that's meant to be feel-good and fun and that's exactly what "Here's To The Good Times" is. The duo co-wrote 6 of the 11 tracks on the album and 8 of the 13 on the Target-exclusive. "Cruise" will be a two to three week hit, the follow-up "Get Your Shine On" will follow to great airplay and single sales while they have massive choices for #3 single sometime in June/July when "Shine On" is likely to peak, I think "Tell Me How You Like It" could be that single or it could be the title track or even "Round Here." The whole record feels massively radio-ready.

The whole record feels massively radio-ready. Which is all I need to hear to stay far away. Honestly, I don't think I've sat through Cruise in its entirety. This song represents everything I hate about the majority of modern mainstream country radio.

I still like this song. It's not a masterpiece, but I think it's catchy, it's well-produced, and it has enough solid lyrics (especially in the last verse) to overcome the "because poor literacy is kewl!" moments.
It seems like the "fun" songs around here are the ones that seem to get bashed the most. I can't remember the last time a novelty got any praise here from anyone other than Matt and me. That's not at all a slam against you guys — so there seems to be a generally low tolerance for frivolity in these parts. That's just how you guys roll.

Hey, I'm all for frivolity. I liked "Red Solo Cup." Shoot, I even liked "Camouflage." But it seems to me -- with all due respect -- that these guys aren't going for frivolity. They're going for deliberately dumb. (That's NOT to say that anyone who likes them is dumb. Tastes differ, and I'm sure their fans hear all kinds of things there that I don't. I'm just saying that's the vibe I get from them.)

Well idk what it is about me, but when I find myself describing a song as "fun," I usually don't like to couple it with atrocious lyrics, piss-poor grammar, and bad production and vocals.
Little White Church, Red High Heels, and Coalmine are three examples of songs I find fun. I'd much rather listen to any of those. Or a lot of other songs... almost anything is better than Cruise, except maybe Truck Yeah and Musta Had a Good Time.

I have no problem with "fun" songs , though admittedly ,most aren't my favorites either. I guess I just feel that country as a genre has served up far more then its share in recent memory. And its gotten to the point where almost anything that isn't about "having a good time", Tractors , trucks (minus Lee Brice) , or being blissfully in love is deemed to dark or depressing . I like music to transport me somewhere interesting. To have a message or a story beyond a careless youth . The fact that this particular Fun song doesn't excite me musically and the voices are vanilla as well doesn't help .

I'm a casual fan of FL GA Line. Part of me likes their new record and I'll admit first off that its a "party" record no doubt. The other part of me can't help but think that they seem a bit Desperate/Perverted with some of the songs... Which doesn't add up to a song like Black Tears.

I have a game I play with this song. Whenever I am in my car and surfing the country radio stations ( I can pull in 6 of them through my car radio), when I hear this song I always try to see if I can change the station quick enough so that I don't hear them sing "Baby you a song". The only flaw in this game is when I stop on a channel waiting for a new song to start and then this is the song that plays next. Doh!
Really though, I value a live performance with above average musicianship and a band that is not solely relying on the guitar. When I watched some YouTube vids of these guys and saw a song where 4 of 5 band members were playing guitar, I just cringed. Give me some balance of instruments PLEASE! Unless these guys change things up a bit, they will have to rely on someone other than me to buy their music and tickets to their shows (which it seems like they are not having much problem doing right now).

Perhaps they're just singing to an audience they are a part of, just like other artists with massive fan bases.

54.54 Million AI on Mediabase... how much more audience can these guys gain? Looks like you selected the peak day. I said it would be losing by Friday and it's there a day early, but on the other hand it gained more early this week than I was expecting. And the loss was tiny, so it could hit a higher peak tomorrow for all I know. Now we have big gains every day for the Moore Twins and ZBB -- it's not hard to see at whose expense those gains are coming. Very impressive drops for Miranda and RF, and now Luke and Jake are picking up the pace as well. And when FlaGa starts falling hard, presumably next week, that will leave even more airplay for the rest to compete for.

With FGL and Justin Moore both under the Big Machine envelope, I wonder if we'll see them swap positions next week, holding "Cruise" to just two weeks at #1. Seems like the most likely scenario to me.

Congrats to FGL!
This from ChartWatch: Florida Georgia Line's "Cruise" dips from #16 to #17 in its 17th week. It jumps to #1 on Hot Country Songs after spending five straight weeks at #2 behind Swift's "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together."
