Pressure is amazing. This is by far his strongest album. The critics are wrong on this.

I'm not surprised that the album is not a critical darling, given the smash success and ubiquity of Blurred Lines. Isn't that usually how critics operate? Edit: So...the main beef with this album, per the critics, are...the lyrics??? It's even more now obvious that critics have no idea who Robin Thicke is. His lyrics, particularly on his uptempos, have been borderline Lonely Island-style parody since When I Get You Alone, honestly. If you are listening to Robin Thicke for intelligent or even quasi-meaningful lyrics, there is a bigger problem. Most of the problems critics have with him seem to have to do with him personally.

Just gave the album a listen and was amazed by it. Give It 2 U is straight-up dancepop and was a very pleasant surprise. If they play their cards right I can see the album having a loooooong shelf life.

Just because critics like or dislike something doesnt mean the general public will agree. Sometimes you have to make the music you want to critics be damned.

Whole album is great...it's like r&b and Americanized eurotrash had a baby. I'm having the hardest time listening to the whole album in one stretch though b/c I keep repeating "Take It Easy On Me."
Having heard it now, I feel there is a little similarity with the way Bruno gets treated by critics; his reviews aren't as harsh but he's by no means a critical darling either. So when I think of it that way...I still think it's absurd of course, but now I don't necessarily think it's some collective personal vendetta or anything like that.

I wish I could be into his music like y'all :( I still may check this album out, but so far the listed tracks y'all are fonting about didn't do much for me.

this is an album that you can listen to from track 1 to the last track. This album reminds of Katy Perry's Teenage Dream era. Both have a huge 1st single, album started with 140K+ in the first week (Katy with 180K+ ). I hope this would be Robin's Teenage Dream era. 'cause he deserves it so bad!!! I hope the first week sale surprised me with over 200K+

Just purchased the album on AmazonMP3 after listening to the clips on iTunes. It's very beat driven and I think long time Robin fans (like myself) may turn their noses up initially but after a couple listens I was hooked. It's like he put Somethin' Else and Sexy Therapy in a blender and went to the club. "Take It Easy On Me", "Ohh La La", "Ain't No Hate 4 That", and "Top of the World" are my favs. The bonus tracks are some nice bops as well.

Just started the album. YES. My lines are blurred after this weed and beer. Oh...and my parents just dropped off my birthday money. #winning! Oh...and there's this:
Edit: OK...the lyrics of Blurred Lines...Robin Thicke is not being sketchy at all. This girl has a boyfriend, he can't tame her, she is too wild...so she meets Robin and acts up. She feeds Robin drinks, not the other way around. It's a dirty song, no doubt but not "rapey" or "pervy" or whatever other nonsense I am reading. Oh...and so far, I'm at the horribly maligned Give It 2 U, which I love. Album is soo hot up til now. I don't care about his raunch and filth, he sounds great doing it and the album is extremely well-produced. Also, I LOVE his Aaron Hall vocal impressions on this album. My favorite album of his so far but I love songs off each of his albums. 4 The Rest Of My Life is perfect.

This is a really strong album imo. I'm loving "Feel Good", "Pressure", "Ooo La La" along with the singles and find the rest of the album to be good as well. I'm hoping it goes platinum in the end.

Also, I LOVE his Aaron Hall vocal impressions on this album. YASSSS!!! Those vocals at the end of "Get In My Way"...I thought I was listening to a Guy album. Love it!

Active Aggressive I hear the Guy but I got some light Gap Band teas from his vocals in the beginning of GIMW as well.

I meant to post earlier, but this album is a JAM! Like, it's one of those Saturday morning jams you put on when you're cleaning the house (I was jamming while vacuuming). I think those 3 Earth, Wind, and Fire and Off The Wall influenced tracks (3-5) really set the tone for the record. I need to send this to my mom (and tell her to delete Give It 2 U lol). Give It 2 U disrupts the vibe a bit, but overall the album is cohesive and fresh. I need to look up this ProJay person, I really knew those were Pharrell productions until I looked at the credits.

unrelated, but i hated Aaron's solo music. i don't know why b/c i was a pretty big Guy fan, but Aaron on his own just rubbed me the wrong way for some reason.

I feel like Don't Be Afraid and I Miss You could've been on this album. Don't Be Afraid is one of my favorite songs of all time.

Blurred Lines will debut at #1 with 130-140k next week. *** A Beautiful World debuted at #152 with 5k (65k to date). The Evolution of Robin Thicke debuted at #45 with 20k (1.6m to date). Something Else debuted at #3 with 136k (435k to date). Sex Therapy debuted at #9 with 123k (442k to date). Love After War debuted at #22 with 41k (202k to date). This is what I hope happens... Since they didn't expect it to smash this hard and he went in the studio with Dr. luke late in the album process I expect 2-3 hits this era. I want them to promote the record the rest of this month to get it close to gold. I hope they let this song die out and push Give it to me in September (it seems like the only song on the album that can be a hit that follows up this smash...then songs like ooh la la or top of the world or something else can follow it. he needs two solid hits in a row and then the 3rd single can benefit off of that. So next week Robin will have the #1 album on billboard and he will be #1 on: airplay sales pop hot ac urban urban ac rhythmic OMG...this is a crazy mega hit. Was we belong together the last song to achieve this Anyways, I need the single line to be like this Blurred lines For the rest of my life to urban ac only Give it to me all formats Ooh la la all formats Top of the world (this song would so relate to his key demographic though)/Pressure to close the album
