So the current prediction isn't 275K+? Is that a typo from Hits? HITS said 275k. When they said "over-perform," retailers had just opened. That's their opinion. We'll find out tomorrow! Ah well Hits saying 275K with the chance to over-perform means, to me, someone saying it will threaten with 300K. I thought there had been some kind of mistake and they really only predicted 175K or something lol.

Wouldn't that just be crazy? I think I would die of laughter if she pulled some big number like that out of nowhere all the sudden.
Keeping things grounded, simply another 200k opening would be great for Rihanna. Will we get first days Tuesday or Wednesday this week?

Yes, many CDs are $5 starting today and through out the week for Black Friday on Amazon and other retailers.

It would be hilarious if Rihanna still couldn't snag a #1 album with all those #1 singles...

Rihanna's album is $5.99 on Amazon. So is Loud. And Rated R. Talk That Talk is $3.99.

I'm not saying anything about her numbers but predict that #1 sells ~300k, whoever that will be.

Anyone remember Speak Now's sales from thanksgiving week two years ago? I know it's probably not likely, but I think she has an outside shot at number one next week. Target, a big seller of Swift records, opens on thanksgiving evening, I think.

Speak Now sold 240,530 the week of Black Friday in 2010. Up from 146,358 the previous week.

Thanks, Push The Button.
So roughly a 60% increase? She sold almost 200,000 last week, right? And this album has been trending higher than Speak Now..... She could EASILY be the one to take #1 next week.

^Looks like it. It's either going to be her or 1D who take the top spot.

We are currently in Black Friday week, we don't have last week's numbers yet.
Red fell behind Speak Now last week, but only by about 15k.
Speak Now's first four weeks: 1,046,718, 319,701, 211,778, 146,358. Red: 1,208,290, 344,249, 196,225
HDD said Red should sell between 140-150k this week, so it's performing remarkably close to Speak Now two years ago. It's entirely possible that she does 250k + this week.

You're right, I was getting ahead a week. Fingers crossed for her triumphant return to #1.

I just tweeted HITS:
@hitsdd Are you doing "One-Days" today since all the new albums were released on Monday this week? I can't wait until Wednesday! lol
I just came back from Best Buy. They had ~28 major albums on sale for $5.99!

I just came back from Best Buy. They had ~28 major albums on sale for $5.99! Urgh, if only the same price slashes happened with flights to the US. I would book myself a flight, go shopping at target and buy a shit ton of CDS and fly back, having saved more money than my flight cost. :'(

WHEN BLACK FRIDAY COMES: Today's HITS album sales chart has just closed and we’re already peering into our crystal ball for next week, folks, thanks to one-day sales reports from those retailers around the country who haven’t succumbed to tryptophan shock. Heading into holiday weekend, our retail experts ask for your indulgence, with a greater than usual margin of error due to cranberry consumption. Look for Def Jam/IDJ chanteuse Rihanna’s Unapologetic to sell between 240-260k, her biggest debut ever, which is probably good enough to make her #1 next week. Atlantic’s Kid Rock takes advantage of his availability at iTunes for the first time with an estimate of 160-180k for his new, pro-Mitt Romney album, Rebel Soul. 19/Interscope American Idol winner Phillip Phillips’ The World from the Side of the Moon will bow with between 140-160k. Atlantic/Rhino’s Led Zeppelin CD/DVD Celebration, recorded at their much-ballyhooed reunion show at London’s 02 Arena in 2007, should do in the 90-100k range. Geffen diva Keyshia Cole’s Woman to Woman is on target for 75-85k, while 19/RCA Idol album Kelly Clarkson’s greatest hits compilation looks good for 45-50k. RCA Latin star Pitbull’s Global Warning should do 35-40k, while Capitol stalwart Coldplay’s Live 2012 CD/DVD will sell in the 30-35k range. (11/20p) www.hitsdailydouble.com/news/rumormill.cgi:o Omgggg congrats Rih! Only thing I'm worried about is Taylor's sales, but I doubt she'll get 240k+.

Someone should make a poll about next week's #1.... Rihanna, Taylor or One Direction. I think they'll all be very, very close in sales.

If Taylor snatches the #1 from Rihanna I will laugh so hard it'll probably pop a blood vessel.

Finally lol! Congrats RiRi! Really good numbers for her, and it's great that shes' about to get the best opening of her career(similar to Pink this year).
Good numbers for Philip and Kid Rock. What did Pink's gh open at? Hopefully Kelly has legs like that album.

Pink's GH opened at 52k, I think--I don't think that was a Black Friday release, but she had the huge "Raise My Glass," as well, and was coming off a real return to fame. I predicted 40-50k for Kelly, so that's right in line. I'd love to see her crack 50k though.
