Pink's GH opened at 52k, I think--I don't think that was a Black Friday release, but she had the huge "Raise My Glass," as well, and was coming off a real return to fame. I predicted 40-50k for Kelly, so that's right in line. I'd love to see her crack 50k though. If People Like Us get's released after Christmas I can easily see it going gold. I wonder where Xtine will land :kii:

Why no mention at all of Nicki Minaj? Is it because it's a re-release?

Taylor did 240k same week with Speak Now. However, I think she had an NBC special on Thanksgiving, if I'm not mistaken. I don't think she's going to hit that mark this year again, especially with so little promo. She will probably manage to crack 200k, but that's about it. Also, I'd expect OD to fall more than 70%, because their sales are pretty front-loaded. They are no threat to kween Riri.

Albums usually don't drop that much on their second week when that week is one of the busiest shopping weeks of the year.

I do know that, but I still think OD's fall will be larger than what one normally would drop during black friday (if there even is a normal, here). On Itunes, their album is down to #13 already, which isn't that great of a sign, really.

It's not like non-holiday albums only drop 10-20% in their second week, if that week falls during Thanksgiving week. Sales probably will drop at least 40% the low end) for albums in their second weeks.

Best Buy had the re-release for $16.99 when I was there today. Wouldn't she not be mentioned for the fact that she didn't sell the Re-Up as a separate EP, therefore it won't chart as a new release? I still think it's gonna flop but yeah...I think she could at least sell 30k in combined sales.

I feel most people are buying the individual songs on iTunes rather than the whole album again. That's what I did.
A separate EP would have been smartest, unless they want her singles sales to go up.

Don't forget that Taylor had a show stopping performance at the AMA's and everyone was talking about it. That will also be reflected in this week's sales. I'm expecting Taylor's sales to be in the same range of Rihanna's 240K-250K.

Diamonds is great, smart choice for a lead single...it's like a beautiful goat on top of a mountain singing to the stars.
Congrats to RiRi, she deserves it after all this time and Unapologetic is a solid album with some really great tracks on it (Stay stands out and is a potential Nothing Compares 2 U/Someone Like You-esque smash IMO).

A #1 for Rihanna is not guaranteed. Taylor or 1D could be #1.

Yeah, Hits said "probably" which would indicate one or both of Taylor/1D are predicted to do over 200k and are just enough within striking distance that they weren't comfortable absolutely declaring Unapologetic would take the #1 spot. Rihanna is not out of the woods just yet.
Like I said in Ri's album thread though, I'm much more impressed with the sales projection (a ~50-70k increase over what she has done with the last three albums :) ) than with the possible #1. Is Miss Fenty starting to become...an album artist?!

Rihanna can have it next week. Taylor will get it the week after. Rihanna can't "have it" if her sales are not enough to be #1. The #1 album the final week will probably be Alicia Keys. HITS projects 300k which I think is a little high.
