Wiz Khalifa Is the Big Debut and #1 Contender, With Ke$ha, Florida Georgia Line Also Bowing Eggnog! Presents! Cookies! More Eggog! That's what it sounds like in our heads these days, but we may as well go on pretending to work while the boss is around. Hey, here's an idea: You ask us about next week's likely sales numbers, and we'll pretend to know something about that. O.N.I.F.C., the very latest offering from Atlantic's Wiz Khalifa, is on course to sell somewhere in the 135-145k range, making it a contender for #1 next week against chart stalwarts Rod Stewart (Verve) and Taylor Swift (Big Machine). How will the week's other new releases stack up? We're glad you asked. RCA's Ke$ha should be able to afford plenty of whiskey-flavored toothpaste with an 80-85k bow, while Big Machine/Republic country beau hunks Florida Georgia Line chug into the holidays with a 50-55k debut. But what does O.N.I.F.C. stand for, you ask? Some say it's "Only N***** in First Class," but we like to think it's "Oh, Now I Feel Christmas-y." www.hitsdailydouble.com/news/newsPage.cgi?news09217

I knew Ke$ha wouldn't be very high, but 80-85k? Damn. They should have sale priced her album on iTunes like they did with Animal.
Solid for Wiz.

DAMN KE$HA. Was at least expecting 130k. Shocking, really. I was actually expecting more for Wiz as well.

^ How much was "Animal" on iTunes opening week? $6.99. Wow, that was a good price. I remember I bought it opening week at Best Buy for $7.99. I hope she can trend a little higher throughout the week with her X Factor performance tomorrow. She'll debut Top 5 for sure.

Based on previous rap entries this year, and the fact it is the holidays, Wiz COULD/SHOULD have gotten upwards of 200k, but sadly, the album is horrible and the single is doing almost nothing. This is about in line with what I had expected.
Ke$ha is not an album artist. There was a chance she could have hit 100k, but she didn't do enough promo and the singles were not that big. She likely got a boost from the holidays as she'd nromally be around 65-80k. She will however have big success with future singles as this album is jam packed full of them. These numbers are also in line with what to reasonably expect for her.

Nice numbers for Wiz. I was expecting a little more for Ke$ha though.

Those #s are an absolute disaster for Ke$ha. And don't call this "typical overdramartic Pulse." This bitch has a monster single out right now, had a huge first era with 3 huge hits, and a couple of other moderate-big hits, and an album that sold well. And she can't even break 100k with the holiday season effect?
This is very embarassing.

Ouch for Ke$ha. It's surprising to me - she sold 150k of Animal in January 2010 on the heels of "Tik Tok" (granted, her biggest single to date). But several huge hits later, big videos, touring, December opening week later, she's going to sell just more than half of that?
Not outstanding for Wiz either but good enough.
So Rod Stewart & Taylor could be top 2?
Also interested to see how high Buble can get this season.

Lol. I should just halve or quarter all my predictions from now on. I've been extremely off recently.
Very poor sales for Ke$ha. Hopefully the album will have longevity, which I'm sure it will.

People need to realize that "Animal" was released/discounted on iTunes right after the holidays, therefore a lot of those sales were probably purchased using iTunes gift cards.

I was going to be one of those fans and say maybe they are under-estimating her, but Hits has been fairly accurate lately yes? Those numbers are bad. I know everyone is saying they were expected, but I feel like pretty much everyone was expecting or predicting 100K+ or even close to 200K. She has one of the biggest hits in the country right now, she has had steady if not overwhelming promo, the holiday boom is starting up, and she is a much bigger name than she was when TiK Tok or even Cannibal came out. I wonder what is holding her back a little from "really" breaking out like Rihanna, Katy, Gaga? Well, I guess that is a bit unfair-different situations and Rihanna did take a cd or two to really become a powerhouse.
She has a lot of hit singles sitting on the cd so it will probably just take awhile to get her to platinum.

Wow at those Ke$ha numbers, when you're selling only 10k more than Lotus and have a #1 radio hit underneath your belt, that's got to be embarrassing.

I never said "Warrior's" projected sales were okay, I'm just tired of people using "Animal's" first week sales as a blueprint for this album's first week sales.

I thought people here were way over-predicting Ke$ha's opening. I figured she'd be somewhere a little over 100k. Despite her last album breaking a million, I just don't see her as someone whose album people will rush out to buy. That's how it tends to be with party pop albums. I could see her getting a million overall if she can have a few more hits, but I don't think one hit is going to convince people the album is worth it.
Wiz's numbers aren't amazing but considering he doesn't have a big hit, they're solid.

Ke$ha's numbers are not good. I mean her album is only projected to do about 10K more than "Cannibal" which was just an EP/Re-release. Those numbers are not good for her especially since this is being released during the holiday season.
I'm sure the album will go Gold or Platinum in the long run if she keeps pushing out Top 10/5 hits.

Well, it's Ke$ha's sophomore (or 3rd depending on if you count 'Cannibal') effort so likely people will compare Warrior's first-week sales with the first-week sales of her previous efforts.

very poor for kesha. its really surprises me, i wasnt expecting giant numbers, but those are low. i bought it and love the album, and after the massive animal/cannibal era you think shed have built a stronger fanbase. at least she has strong singles so the album SHOULD have legs.

I was confused by everyone saying there was so much hype surrounding the release and that she was gonna do close to or above 200k. I just wasn't seeing it anywhere, but even then I thought she would do an additional 50k. That has gotta be a disappointment from even the most modest of expectations.
