Says who? Unless you can provide some bibliographical reference from a peer- reviewed journal justifying your argument, it's just your opinion. (by the way, I'm a statistician who knows very well the difference between prediction, projection and estimation). I'm not talking about real life. I'm talking about the way HITS/Billboard uses these terms. The way we have been talking about the HITS charts for the last 9 years here at Pulse. OK. Sorry about that. I see you point. Some more questions... 1) Did you understand, from my original post, what I was asking? 2) Is this not real life? Are we in some kind of parallel universe? 3) and more importantly, do you know the answer to my original question?

Bruno Mars' debut sold 1.8 million, yeah, I did expect him sell at least 250k first week. hell, didn't Mumford & Sons sell like 600k and they didn't even have a huge radio hit this time. But at the end of the day, first week sales won't matter.

I use those words pretty much interchangeably so OOPS! if that has been wrong for 9 years. No, you haven't. You do know what you are talking about here.

You just wanted to sound smart. I get it. I'm fact, you are so smart that you are able to correct Love Plastic Love when he recognized that he used the words interchangeably. You know more than him about his actions. Impressive. By the way, my original question was about charts and sales figures. I'm starting to suspect that you don't like Wang Chung. ;)

Getting back on topic......
YOUR TOP 15: Taylor Swift remains on top next week while Bruno Mars and a surging Michael Bublé will compete for #2. Not included in today's Top 15 is Columbia's 12/12/12: The Concert For Sandy Relief album. This will surely be a contender for the upper regions of the chart should it come out before the end of the week. If it's not released until after Sunday, we can expect a very high debut on the following week's chart. Here's the picture as we head into the weekend:
Taylor Swift (Big Machine) 190-200k Michael Bublé (Reprise) 150-160k * Bruno Mars (New Elektra) 150-160k Rod Stewart (Verve) 120-125k One Direction (Syco/Columbia) 105-115k * Game (Geffen) 85-90k Blake Shelton (Warner Bros. Nashville) 70-75k Phillip Phillips (19/Interscope) 65-70k Lady Antebellum (Capitol Nashville) 60-65k Alicia Keys (RCA) 60-65k * Green Day (Reprise) 55-60k Now 44 (Capitol) 55-60k Mumford & Sons (Glassnote) 50-55k * Music of Nashville (Big Machine) 50-55k Scotty McCreery (Mercury Nashville/19/Interscope) 50-55k Rihanna (Def Jam/IDJ) 50-55k Little Big Town (Capitol Nashville) 45-50k
* Debuts
Speaking of how things look going into the weekend, we look forward to knocking back a bottle of smooth Rite-Aid scotch in our underwear and rockin' a Golden Girls marathon. Wonder what the poor folks are up to. (12/13p)

Wow @ Bublé! He's looking to sell 1 million by the end of the year I think. Good debut for Bruno too!

Ouch @ Ke$ha not even being mentioned.
I thought Bruno was a lock for #1. Guess I underestimated the countrypop superstar and that covers-only artist

Sandy Relief album is out on iTunes and sitting at #1. Wonder if it will sell enough to make the top 10. Here are the current iTunes top 10 albums:
1. Various Artists - 12-12-12 The Concert for Sandy Relief 2. Bruno Mars - Unorthodox Jukebox 3. Game - Jesus Piece (Deluxe) 4. Michael Bublé - Christmas 5. Glee Cast - Glee: The Music, The Christmas Album, Vol. 3 6. Taylor Swift - Red 7. Nashville Cast - The Music of Nashville (Original Soundtrack) 8. The Lumineers - The Lumineers 9. Big Boi - Vicious Lies and Dangerous Rumors 10. Cee Lo Green - CeeLo's Magic Moment

I wish "21" were getting a bigger boost.
It'll probably take as much as to go 10->11 million as it took to go 0->10 million.
We need a new sales anomaly to keep things interesting.

It will most likely easily be in the top 5 with a good shot at much higher. there are over 50,000 pre-orders alone now That Haiti album made its debut at #1 this should easily

Well it won't chart until its officially released right? iTunes claims the 18th. Amazon's physical CD pre-order is apparently not until January 15.

i'm sorry but in my opinion streaming the Bruno Mars album a full week HAS to hurt sales...i can see maybe ONE day..heck i wouldnt have streamed it at all...nothing like anticipating an albums release day and listening to all the songs after you buy it...streaming an album takes alot away from that
they did a great job of not letting it leak out only to ruin it by streaming it for a week
that being said..awesome album!

If turning tables was released wed probably be tryin to get to 12 million right now :/ I have hope Adele will return to the top 10 in a few weeks when everything collapses because I can see her hanging on well

I think it's a little funny that the week the soundtrack to "Nashville" hits the charts that Taylor Swift has the #1 album in the country, given the show's plotline.
