Early interest and sales aren't definitive. Just ask Ke$ha and her second singles.
There's hype because Cher's fanbase is also involved. I think either song would be fit summer singles. It's too late to turn back now.

Cher Lloyd hasn't really had all that much radio success. so I think it's wise that they went with "Made in the USA" as single #2. They do need to switch it up with single #3 and I'm hoping for a "Without the Love" release late summer/early fall.

I'm an out-of-practice Ke$ha stan. BBB is a borderline flop. Quick rise. Quicker descent. It did sell over 2 million though. Ke$ha was just the first example to come to mind. There are several more. Like "We Ride" for Rihanna.

Not that my opinion matters much to the average Demi stan, but...I really enjoy the album. Her tone is much less strident than in the past and the ballads are great, especially Shouldn't Come Back. That song is a stunner. My highlights are:
1. Shouldn't Come Back 2. Neon Lights 3. Made In The USA 4. Really Don't Care 5. Nightingale 6. In Case 7. Heart Attack
I don't really care about the rest, but they aren't bad.

While this album has some really great songs, I feel Unbroken was stronger as a whole. Plus I love when her music fuses pop, rock, and R&B elements; this album's missing the R&B element.

OOOOOOP. BIG fail on my part for overlooking the stone groove smash hit wonder Something That We're Not, dahhling...HEY! JAMMMMMMMM! This album is really solid and Demi sounds the best I have ever heard her. This is what it is about - constantly improving and building upon your strengths. Having really strong melodies and catchy tunes definitely doesn't hurt. Even though I am not familiar with these producers, I am very impressed with how they complement Demi.

Everything seems to be holding up pretty well on iTunes:
14. Heart Attack (they removed the single version, I wonder if CMA will hurt this very much) 63. Really Don't Care (should debut on the Hot 100) 105. Warrior (could possibly enter the Bubbling Under) 134. Neon Lights 161. Something That We're Not 254. Made in the ISA 284. In Case 290. Give Your Heart a Break (this album's release seems to be pulling up the sales for this) 299. Nightingale 368. Shouldn't Come Back 408. Never Been Hurt 460. Two Pieces 514. Skyscraper (notice, despite the low airplay this received, it has yet to leave the top 1500 almost two years later) 547. Without the Love 794. Fire Starter
The album sits at #3 on iTunes. The Great Gatsby's soundtrack has shot up to number one. Demi should debut at #2 on the Digital Albums chart. As far as the BB 200 goes, #3 seems like what it's going to debut at. George has a nice set of physical purchases to compensate for the lower digital sales of the album, possibly placing him just over Demi for the #2 spot. Vampire Weekend look to take #1.

I definitely think this is hands down her best album yet. Her first two albums are great and they were great for her age, but I feel like they're in a different category than Unbroken and Demi.....they feel a bit more quick if that makes sense? Unbroken and Demi seem a lot more authentic, legit, and high quality. I feel like Unbroken had some standout tracks but a good amount of fillers......Demi isn't that huge of a departure for what she was going for on Unbroken, but the quality is a LOT better.

Don't want to get overconfident, but I think GOLD is very likely. Unbroken is at ~450k, and that had a worse start - lower opening, no hit single until half a year after its release.

I can't see this not going at least gold. This is filled with singles while Unbroken only had 2 single-worthy songs and one of them wasn't even released so the only way this won't outsell it is if they make the one bad choice after the other as far as singles go.

I am totally on board with this album. Lots of potential singles. My favorite song is definitely "In Case," but that could definitely change at some point (i'm already leaning towards "Without the Love" which is something I feel Leona Lewis would do well). Demi's voice is very strong (as usual), and the writing is better (although I'm not sure if anything can touch GYHAB which is a pretty flawless pop song).
Also, the verses of "Made in the USA" have similar chords as Kelly's "Already Gone" so I love that!

Demi is having her tonsils removed later on in the year. This is notable because her live vocals are going to improve (and be more consistent) after the surgery.

A little lower sales than what I was hoping for, but still really good and an improvement over Unbroken's debut! I really do think Demi is going to have a lot more stable sales and should easily pass 500k. If Hollywood Records really plays it right this era, 750k and possibly one million is doable. But, it's Hollywood Records, so they'll probably screw her over come time for the third single.

So she's now had an album debut in every position in the Top 4:
Don't Forget #2 89,000 Here We Go Again #1 108,000 Unbroken #4 96,00 Demi #3 110,000
I find it kinda funny that her two mainstream album were outpeaked by her two Disney albums lol.
Also, I find it interesting how consistent her debuts have been. The difference between Demi's debut (her best debut sales week) and Don't Forget's debut (her worst debut sales week) is only 21,000.

I didn't even realize Demi was her biggest opening ever! I thought Here We Go Again debuted with more than that. Very happy now!
"Really Don't Care" also debuted at #98 on the Hot 100.

I've been listening to this album on Spotify for the last few days and I think I'm just going to go ahead and purchase it. I'm kind of indifferent to the uptempos apart from 'Heart Attack', but I'm frickin' in love with the ballads like 'Nightingale', 'Shouldn't Come Back' and 'Warrior'. The UK version of Demi decided to tack on 'Give Your Heart a Break' and 'Skyscraper' as well, so all-in-all it's worth the £££s and some of the other tracks will probably grow on me.
I do agree with some of the criticisms of Demi's vocals, though. That super-charged emotion she gives in songs like 'Skyscraper' and 'Shouldn't Come Back', where she pushes her voice to the point where it sounds raw and almost ugly, slays you the first couple times you hear her do it, but then she does it in half a dozen songs and it starts to a) feel overused and b) hurt your ears. She needs to save that for when it's really necessary, IMO.

She's got the pipes and she wants to show it off, as I think she should. (i think it sounds good, as long as the control is there). I appreciate her live performances especially because she rarely cheats on the high notes. Do it while you still can Demi!
