They haven't called anything a "buzz single" yet. "Triumphant" was referred to as an "advance single" when it was released and there was never news about an album release (and only a few songs were recorded at that point). "Almost Home" was a soundtrack single that was never intended to be on her album. "#Beautiful" was the lead single and they haven't referred to it as a "buzz single" ever, nor did Mariah refer to this as the "lead single".

^Well, if its a success, it will be considered a full on single. If it flops, it will be a buzz single. Honestly I don't know what to expect. I enjoyed #B a lot, but I'm afraid to get my hopes up too much for this. Guess only time can tell now. Well #b did not flop and nothing came from it.

So is this a new lead single or a Facebook buzz single. I feel like Mariah is moving away from the album business model and focus on just releasing songs for fans randomly Yup its a facebook only release, every 5 likes equals 1 download.

Why not 11:11:11 or 11:11:13 though.

I agree. 11:11 on 11/11 would have guaranteed this goes straight to #1 in order to maintain the 1s streak.

You guys may think I'm crazy or whatever but all this label mess and drama would end if she rejoined the illuminati. We all remember the triangle with the eye in the middle from back in the day? See the If Its Over grammy performance and other back drops she used back in the day. Anyways I'm hoping all this symbolism with 11.11 and released at 11 am is a sign she is back in the fold.

and all there is to know about "THE ART OF LETTING GO". The lyrics to Pat Benetar's "The Art of Letting Go" are... "...the less I know about the art of letting go" Could it be a cover? Probably not.

Jermaine's already the best manager she's had since Benny Medina, tbh. First the titty tweet buzz, Facebook interaction (which is smarter than Twitter since she's connecting with the GP and not necessarily stans), a proper countdown--the first since "Touch My Body," and a musical offering. Larry Gold doesn't seem like the type to sensationalize anything, either, so him saying it was "magic" holds some weight. Hopefully she's had time to calm down.

I wonder if they're releasing the song to iTunes immediately after the streaming on Facebook? I'm so excited for this!!

I wonder if they're releasing the song to iTunes immediately after the streaming on Facebook? I'm so excited for this!! I don't think so. It really sounds like she just wants to share some music with her fans so I'm not surprised if it will just be background music for her Facebook page and then if it gets buzz she might release it as a single, then if it becomes a hit she might release an album. Or she might not release album and just let the buzz and single die over time

She never said it was a Facebook single. She said it's premiering exclusively on Facebook. B96 in Chicago usually gets the exclusive premiere of her singles, but they're not doing an exclusive radio premiere for this one.

There are some rumors at another message board that this song is a cover of a b-side originally recorded by one hit wonder Mikaila (of "So In Love With Two" fame).
It totally sounds like the type of song Mariah would have done maybe 20 years ago, but I seriously hope that the song she is doing is brand new.

Mariah supposedly wrote and produced this with Jermaine Dupri. It's not a cover.

If this was produced by Jermaine, I'm going to keep my expectations very low. Unless his production style has evolved, it'll probably sound straight out of 2005. :\

Wait the rumor is that Jermaine produced this ballad? I thought it was done by someone else or read that when album news first broke. If Jermaine did in fact produce this then I'll pass have zero interest in a JD ballad and if anyone counters with WBT , I will slap you.

It was either produced by Jermaine or Rodney Jerkins.

I can't believe we at the point that we are hoping for one faded 90's producer over another but hey I'll take the one she hasn't worked with lately.

It's funny Mariah that in all these years she's never worked with Rodney for any of her albums until now. The only thing she did with him was recording the hook for Twista's "So Lonely".
