ARTPOP tanked. The only single that worked was Applause. I really like DWYW but radio dissed that too. I think she needs to release a new album. Not even Gyspy will help.

You can't legitimately say an album selling 700k tanked. If that's the standard we're going by 3/4 of albums are failures.

You also can't argue that this album didn't tank for Lady Gaga's standards. Think of all the hype she had her first two eras. She brought back dance music, the music video, she was an album AND single seller and she was being hailed as the pop performance artist of the new generation. Five years later and her album sells less than a Mary J. Blige album with no hits damn near 20 years into her career! You can't say that anyone is happy with how this album performed.

No I'm not saying it performed at the level it should have. But there are hundreds of artists that struggle to sell half of what ArtPop did that DO have hit singles.
Yes, it underperformed compared to her first 2 albums, but people ready to wrote her obituary do so at their peril.

This era is over. Even the tour isn't garnering any buzz (notwithstanding however successful it may be)

How did radio diss DWUW? It peaked just a few spots higher at top 40 radio.

ARTPOP era has been over for a long time. There is absolutely nothing that will save it and every day just continues to devalue her career. She needs to scramble together a new concept and album fast and hope that everyone forgets ARTPOP ever happened. Though with her touring for the rest of the year I don't see that happening.

"Every day is continues to devalue her career"? It's not like she can just wipe it from existence as if it never happened. As far as we know, she's done with the album as far as promoting it as a current release and is letting it fade into the past as she continues her tour. You also can't expect her to give up on the tour because it's the one linked to the album. She has obligations and she's going to finish them. At the very least, she can still make the tour a success where the album and singles failed to do so.

It's already a big success financially (due to the astronomical ticket prices). In terms of new music, she needs to either release a new album with sure fire hits very soon - or take a long long break and come back with a completely new sound and look.

It's already a big success financially (due to the astronomical ticket prices). Really? That's what you attribute the tour's success to? Astronomical ticket prices? Girl, if the ticket prices were too high, people would respond by not buying them. My understanding is that they're within range of other tours its size. I'm looking at ticket right now for an upcoming show I'll be attending and the price is $87.50 for general admission. Definitely not the priciest concert I've attended.

You're likely looking at one of the several shows that didn't sell out so the ticket prices were dropped drastically. Here are the prices for the ArtRave Dubai show: VVIP 18000.00 -36000.00AED = 5.000-10.000$ VIP Tables 16000.00-32000.00 AED=4.800-9.000$ Platinum Hospitality 1895.00 AED=500$ Golden Hospitality 1795.00 AED==490$ Silver Hospitality 1695.00 AED=450$ Golden Circle 1295.00 AED=400$ VIP starts at $5000 and the cheapest seat is $150.

I don't know anything about Dubai, typical ticket prices, etc, but tickets were definitely very reasonable in the US from the very beginning. I was pleased since a lot of very effects-heavy concerts tend to have really high prices.

She had one flop thread and that's it! Gaga has established herself enough to recover. Where did the singles peak at from this era on pop? Not like everyone's screaming that Britney nor Christinas (anymore) last flops ended their career. Britney moved onto a ginormous, humongous, highly successful Vegas stint. While Christina moved onto a high profile role on The Voice, and several highly successful single releases/ collaborations. Sooooo many artists have been huge, had a flop or lesser successful (compared to that artists album sales) eras and came back just average, or huger than ever. Who knew Christina was gonna pull Say Something out, or that Gwen would release a hot solo album, and is about to again another smash. I can go on, on and on like Missy but I won't, just remember when people thought Gaga was a one trick pony with Just Dance? Miz Cleo ain't in the house and Montels buddy Sylvia Brown passed on so yall needa sip on some of Justins sizzrup, or puff some of Snoops blunt and relax.

The issue isn't having one flop. Her career just looks like a never ending downward spiral. I mean really, just look at her chart history... wweb.uta.edu/faculty/gghunt/charts/lady_gaga.htmI'm not saying her career is over, but she really can't afford to screw up again. Otherwise it's just going to be harder and harder each time.

Way too melodramatic, applause and dwyw spent the same amount of weeks on chart as some of her biggest hits. She had you and I, edge of glory, and born this way whose first week sales are like #3/4 among all females.

Her recording career is currently in decline. I don't know how anyone can argue about that. Whether she can bounce back or not remains to be seen.

I think you're underestimating the depth of Gaga's decline. It's not just having a flop here and there. The public fundamentally wants nothing to do her. Even worse, they simply don't care anymore. The little monsters are the only ones left.

I can't at your dedication. You're more dedicated to Gaga than most of her fans on here are! #iconic

I think Gaga can bounce back to be a force in the music industry but I think she will need to re-invent herself.

I think Gaga can bounce back to be a force in the music industry but I think she will need to re-invent herself. I think she can too, but how exactly can she when she leaves the house every morning with a different costume on? Unless you mean she re-invents her music, a la makes her next album completely RnB or Disco, or something to that nature. Perhaps the jazz album will help. I'm sure it will.

I think she can too, but how exactly can she when she leaves the house every morning with a different costume on? For starters, she could dress normally. Then release something like "Second Time Around."
