It ain't over til the fat lady sings. I'm not aware of any upcoming Adele performances in the near future, so things are looking good.

It's one thing for stans to obsessively love their diva, but to deny that nobody else cares? LOL

I honestly thought this one would do it for her. The video for this is her best since TFM era in my opinion, and this song is pretty darn catchy. People keep saying she needs to go back to TF/TFM types of music and material, but aren't songs like G.U.Y. and DWYW as close as Gaga can get before she blatantly decides to recycle Paparazzi? This is why I haven't had much to say about the situation regarding what direction she should go in, what she should change, etc. Because honestly, I feel like every single she has put out this era has been quality Pop music so I think the issue is a lot bigger than her music, or her image. I think its the fact that the GP just isn't into her anymore. Same happened to Ashanti and Ciara. Some artists have "their time" and then they never really reach those heights again; or anywhere close to it. And let me clarify, I'm not saying she is over. She can still have her share of hits in the future. I just feel like the issue that she's having right now goes far beyond the music or her image/taking herself too seriously blah blah blah.... She was weird as hell and "took herself too seriously" during TF/TFM (note the Paparazzi MTV Awards performance) so I don't think that's an excuse And that's all I have to say about THAT

Nah, this song wasn't good enough to save this album. I've never heard it at all, except for the time I checked the music video.

How can you just a song when you've "never heard it at all"? I don't get it...

Thing is though her image has never been as mainstream as what some people pretend. She was always quirky and weird and eccentric even since the beginning of her pop career and the GP public loved her for that. I do feel like she took it a bit far with the sound for a good majority of BTW, but she rectified that with many of the songs on ARTPOP being pretty safe pop songs imo. And her image has been fun and not too abrasive for most of the album era.
I still maintain that she just needs to recapture peoples attention again with the right hit. And I don't think G.U.Y. was a misstep, rather a clear example of how the momentum has been derailed from this era by delayed releases, lack of decent promo or hype. Etc. If she surprises people with an immediate, good solid hit (which we know she's capable of writing) that isn't released via "pop emergency", I think she'll do much better than this era. Maybe it'd be a good idea for her to do a surprising collaboration too. People loved her and Christina pairing up.

I wouldn't mind her dropped out of the blue, Beyonce-style, a new single complete with video and whatever else that was completely tailor-made for radio but also still very Gaga-esque. I'm talking just a single, not a whole album. The single can be a prelude to a new Fall 2014 album. I'd say release it late June early July. That would be my wish right now. If there's one thing Gaga should do for the next era, whenever and whatever that is, is to not hype it on social media. I'd say the biggest thing she needs to work on is to limit herself on Twitter. We know her stuff is golden. She knows her stuff is golden. Let us agree in silence and let the music/visuals/presentation do the talking.

3 more adds this week. Is it really over? It was over before it began. Going from 11 consecutive Hot 100 top 10s to a #76 peak. Makes me want to cry.

I think the premature demise of G.U.Y. may hasten the release of ArtPop Part 2 or whatever she's calling it.

R.I.P. G.U.Y. No offense but a song can't be RIP'D if it never had a life to begin with.

In a word, no. But I've seen easily much worse. LBR though, even record-setting good callout scores wouldn't resurrect it at this point. :'(
