Toby's push is so strong right now, it makes sense to ease back and wait for him to run out of steam. (After all, he's not as good as he once was.) Sugarland all of a sudden isn't moving much at all, and Toby should get to #1 once Rascal Flatts is done with their run. Then we'll see who maintains the most strength. Faith might be next in line at that point.
I thought she'd pass Toby easily, but I underestimated how much this song means to Toby's people. I suppose they need a strong #1 run, with that new album out there that they want to move a lot of copies of.

You have sveral songs in the top 10 which have been on the charts for no more than three months, inclduign Keith Urban, Rascal Flatts, Kenny Chesney, George Strait, Faith Hill & Toby Keith.
By that measurement, there's going to be PLENTY of opportunities for most of those songs to hit #1 by Labor Day, although I'm not sure if George Strait can stay ahead of Kenny Chesney or Toby Keith.

On Billboard, I imagine George will stay ahead of Toby for exactly zero more weeks. His lead was less than 1.2 million impressions as of Monday, and at Toby's rate of movement, it's all over.

Appears the song is slowing down after that cheetah's pace to the Top 10.
I wouldn't be surprised to see this one peak around #5, instead of making it to #1 like everyone is predicting, although both outcomes are just as possible.

According to R&R chart for the week ending June 17, 2005:
LW TW Artist Title # points
9 8 Faith Hil l Mississippi Girl (Warner Bros.) 8463
*************
BILLBOARD SINGLES CHARTS Top 20 Positions /Issue Date: June 25, 2005
This Last weeks Week week on chart "Title," Artist Imprint | Catalog No. | Promotion Label || peak Position

This one is very slow climbing for Faith - don't her songs usually climb up the charts faster?

Actually it is her fastest rising song ever on the country charts. It made Top 10 in 3 weeks, congrats to Faith and welcome back. Only been out 5 weeks and already #8.

New Faith Hill Album Set For August
By Jonathan Cohen, N.Y.
-
Faith Hill's "Fireflies," her first studio album since 2002's "Cry," will arrive Aug. 2 via Warner Bros. First single "Mississippi Girl," which was co-written by Big & Rich's John Rich, is No. 8 this week on Billboard's Hot Country Songs chart and No. 54 on the Billboard Hot 100.
"Fireflies" finds Hill teamed with longtime production collaborators Byron Gallimore and Dann Huff on 15 tracks, including "Like We Never Loved at All," opener "Sunshine & Summertime," "Good Ole USA" and "Stealing Kisses." Hill's husband Tim McGraw guests on an as-yet-unidentified song. Also included is a cover of "I'm Not Lisa," a big hit in 1975 for Jessi Colter that topped Billboard's country singles chart and reached No. 4 on the Hot 100.
Hill has begun lining up TV appearances in advance of "Fireflies," including Aug. 2 on "The Tonight Show With Jay Leno" and Aug. 4 on "Today." As previously reported, she and McGraw will also perform at the Rome edition of the July 2 Live 8 concerts.
Here is the track list for "Fireflies":
"Sunshine & Summertime" "Mississippi Girl" "Dearly Beloved" "Ain't Gonna Take It" "Stealing Kisses" "I'm Not Lisa" "Fireflies" "Like We Never Loved at All" "I Want You" "The Lucky One" "If You Ask" "Good Ole USA" "You Stay With Me" "Wish for You" "Paris"

How many people have to remake I'm Not Lisa??? That's 3 remakes I know of right now...Elizabeth Cook, Erika Jo, and now faith.
Figures she's just gotta have another freakin' duet....i'd think by now they've done enough of those.

Why do you have a problem with them doing a duet? Actually they have only done one. Look how many Conway and Loretta did or Tammy and George.
1997-It's Your Love-was actually not a duet, Faith did some background vocals
1998-Just Too Hear You Say You Love Me-not a duet, Faith was lead vocals and Tim did some harmony.
1999-Let's Make Love- their only true duet.
They have been married almost 9 years and really only one duet, and two with some harmony singing. I defintley don't think that is over doing it.

Besides they are going to do a big Soul 2 Soul tour again next year. The first time they have toured together since 2000 and Faith's first time since 2000. Makes sense they would have a new duet for the tour.

Doesn't matter if she sang background vocals or hummed the freakin' phone book - she was still on the song and it counts as a duet - give it a rest nursie! So nursie stalker - got your tickets yet for the big tour? You are absolutely pathetic! You know - I really liked Tim and Faith alot until you started your stalkish rants on CWO - now it's gotten to the point that I can't stand them as much because of YOU!

I've NEVER liked Tim and I began to dislike faith after her selftitled album. Yes, ALL those songs that you listed ARE duets.

I think some of you might be interested in the following update. HOLD ON TO FAITH HILL ALBUM RELEASE INFO[/color] News of the upcoming release of Faith Hill’s new album appeared in Billboard recently and subsequently several other media outlets picked up the story, including this outlet. However, you might want to sit on that information until Faith’s folks are ready to release the official details. Apparently several aspects of the release were not correct, no details on what parts of the original story are not valid. Faith’s camp is asking that people wait for their release to get the correct information. Source

Beautiful cover, but I was hoping for, you know, fireflies. And this irks me, I see this cover: Faith even has the silver top and the head turn...just caught my eye, sorry.

That album cover is so cheap looking... like honestly, they used amateur Photoshop effects on it.

Ditto cheap-looking. I don't like the raccoon eyes on that pic.

I am sure Faith said let me look at Shania covers, so I can copy it. That style of cover has been done many times, by different artists. Did Shania copy all those that did it before her?
Tim's Everywhere album showed one side of his face with one eye. Does that mean Martina copied Tim with her last album, it was just one side of the face and one eye. I don't think so.

Who cares about your precious Timmy! This is a thread about FAITH - get it? Can't you make one dam post without bringing up your precious Tim?

To address the Jacksonfan post, this is also not a post about Shania, but she was brought into the discussion wasn't she. I can ask the same question why is Shania always brought into the dicussion about Faith. Can a post be made about Faith without Shania being brought up.
Tim and Martina was only mentioned as a example of album covers that are similiar to give a example. Get a grip.

I never said that she copied it, I just said that they look very much alike. I think Faith looks fabulous, and thank God that the brown hair isn't out of control, with the curls and such, as in the "Mississippi Girl" cd single..

No you didn't say she copied it and I didn't say you said that. I was just making a point that through the years there has been many albums covers that was similiar, there are only just so many ways you can have a artist face on a cover, If you look at some of the covers from the 70's there are many that style. Tammy has a similiar one with the face looking to the side and head tilt. Trisha's Real Woman CD cover is very similiar to Shania's and Faith's. The example I gave with Tim and Martina shows another example of similiar album covers.

I think the light around her represents Fireflies and who's to say the final album cover won't have Fireflies on it.
