OK, deleted. However, in case of global superstar, you can always try to do the math what the equivalent sales in the US could be.

Look how close all these large debuting albums' 2nd weeks are:
Eminem's Recovery: 2nd week was 313k.
Taylor Swift's Red: 2nd week was 319k.
Justin Timberlake 20/20 Experience: 2nd week was 318k.

Eminem had the smallest second week drop of the three. Going to be an interesting week...

If Eminem drops only 67%, he'd sell about 257k 2nd week. I know Recovery dropped less but I'd say he'll safely sell less than 300k (that would be 61% drop). I think Gaga will be safe but it's too soon to tell.

Looking forward to the possible meltdowns later today. Or all the "We told you she's still the Queen." If she trends higher than the predictions, then we can easily see 400k.

Why would you look forward to meltdowns? I really don't want a 20 page thread full of hysterics.

Gaga will debut at #1, the best thing that could happen to Em is pushing 330k

YOUR NEW RELEASES: It's time to take a look at the week's key debuts, which include not only the long-awaited ARTPOP but also the latest NOW comp (has it really only been 48?) and a freshly packaged set of BBC performances by some mop-topped Liverpudlians.
Lady Gaga (Interscope) 250-275k NOW 48 (UMe) 90-95k The Beatles (Capitol) 40-45k Jhene Aiko (Def Jam/IDJ) 25-30k The Killers (Island/IDJ) 12-15k
In other new-release news, Sarah Palin has released a new opinion: That the Pope seems "kinda liberal." No word yet if the Tea Party will try to field a challenger. (11/13p)

A mess. But considering it's an unconventional pop album she did well for herself. I hope fans concentrate on longevity vs first week sales.

I'm not a businesswoman nor strong in math but that's sure looks like a mighty steep decline from one project to the next.
However before hysteria sets in how many people can actually move almost 300k in this climate? So before you start laughing u might wanna reflect on that nugget, hmmmm.

Eminem will not drop THAT much in week 2. For Eminem to not be #1, it would have to endure a 70% drop. Interest in the Eminem album and songs seems to be way to high for such a drop to happen.
The declaration of Gaga being a 'key debut' makes it clear that Eminem week 2 will be well above 300K

OUCH.
ATRL will be such a mess, Pulse is level headed in comparison.

LMAOOOOO I knew it, I predicted 261k first week and it will do almost exactly that. This is what happens when you put out awful single after awful single in the previous era, a completely unrelatable (except to gay high school arts kids) lead single, have a HORRIFIC image and pander to your gay fans so much you turn off everyone else (I'm gay myself FYI but Gaga was just too much). She destroyed all her potential to be the next Madonna and is now following Cyndi Lauper's career path a lot closer. This is her A Night to Remember era. ArtPop barely has any other hits on it so Platinum is in doubt, I CANNOT. A mess. But considering it's an unconventional pop album she did well for herself. I hope fans concentrate on longevity vs first week sales. Artpop is an extremely commercial pop album, 90% of the tracks are about sex or fashion and all of them attempt to be catchy and radio-friendly (she said so herself). She just failed at making appealing songs because she clearly burned out of good ideas in 2009.

Also since over 100k comes from preorders she's only on track to sell 150-170k copies this week, which means the second week drop is going to be enormous.
What a catastrophe, I expect the tour will gross about half of Born This Way Ball now.
