60% would be magical for Gaga. Hope it'll happen, very doubtful.

I'm glad Kelly Clarkson is still in the Top 10.
Ouch, but expected for GaGa.
I don't want Mary J Blige to miss the Top 10 at #11.

The Goat EM back on his throne.
I wonder if he will hit #1 three weeks from now. I'm assuming One D will get #1 in back to back weeks. Depends on if he is still doing 80k or more a week. Doubtful but not impossible.

Is that Buble's 2 year old xmas album showing up at the bottom? I wonder if a xmas album will ever sell as much as his again.

^We were all waiting on you. Predictable. Don't hate on the Greatest Of All Time. It is disappointing to see no A Perfect Circle predictions for there Greatest Hits release. I bought both the Regular and Deluxe of that this week. A Perfect Circle usually has good debuts but there last release was 2004 and this Greatest Hits only has one New song and the Deluxe has 4 new live songs as well as the one new studio track. But then again maybe this isn't a shock for a Greatest Hits album. Anyway...I'm a collector and if a Deluxe and Regular edition of an album are released I have to buy both. It's in my blood.

If Artpop finishes at the high end of the projection, that would be roughly a 79% drop, which isn't far off of the norm these days.
Buble's album has a good shot at returning to the top 10 again. His holiday special is airing later in the season (Dec. 18), when holiday albums usually have peaked, so we'll see if it gets there before then.

Gaga's drop (79-81%) is not good. Compare it to Prism's drop of 68% and Bangerz's 73%.

Wow. Kelly's album could be this year's biggest Christmas album I think you are right. her declines have been very VERY slim, as opposed to DD. and her promo is only to just about begin. I think not only will it overtake DD in the coming weeks, I really think there is a chance for it to actually hit number one on the BB 200.

She won't go Platinum without a re-release...how embarrasing for her, the little monsters and Interscope. Just 2-3 years ago it seemed like she was a new Madonna but now her career is literally following Cyndi Lauper's. This is her A Night to Remember era, the next album I'm willing to bet she'll be doing Bionic numbers.

Cyndi Lauper's A Night To Remember spawned one top 10 hit #6 "I Drove All Night" but the album struggled big time peaking at #37 and not even going gold. I see this album so far actually being more like Madonna's Bedtime Stories which had a successful but not massive lead single peaking at #3 Secret(#4Applause) and the album debut at #3 decent but a letdown considering Madonna's high expectations. The albums sales were fairly soft until bam the 2nd second was huge Take A Bow, and I believe Do What You Want is going to be a big hit and bigger than Applause, Bedtime Stories while not Madonna's biggest seller went on to respectable numbers in a time that Madonna was coming off the huge backlash of Erotica.

But Artpop isn't coming off of a big backlash. "Applause:" has logged 14 weeks in the Hot 100 top 10; I don't know if the latest single will fare as well.

Ouch I think the second week drop will be huge. Around 125k of the 245k it's selling this week (lbr, it's probably going to end up selling 225-230k at this rate, but let's stay optimistic and say that it ends up seling 245k) are from preorders, meaning she's only selling around 120k new copies this week. If you count a 65% drop on that, you're left with 42k for next week. I'd even say 65% would be a pretty modest drop, considering how fast the predictions are falling the non-preorder sales must be incredibly frontloaded as well, even though the big stans preordered. Then there's also the fact that the predictions keep falling, so she'll probably sell even less non-preorder copies this week, and it's a 7 day week which also amplifies the second week drop... I hope and think she'll at least get 50k next week, but I wouldn't be surprised with under 40k. It ended up selling 259k last week and I found out that the preorders were 105-110k instead of 120k, if you recalculate with a 65% drop on whats left, you get around 52.5k Exactly the same as HITS.

I kind of think Gaga came into the Artpop era with a bit of a backlash... it may not be Erotica size or anything but she lost alot of momentum once Born This Way finished. I guess I feel like the reaction for Do What U Want has been much more positive than Applause. It seems like it is made for radio but I could be wrong. I do still disagree that this resembles Cyndi Lauper's third album...Artpop has already exceeded that.

I don't know why we always need to have an exact comparison to another artist. Careers don't have to follow a pre-established trajectory.

Cyndi Lauper seems to be the name that comes up when something goes bad.
Cyndi Lauper's music career didn't quite make the Pop N' Roll Hall of Fame but was more commercially successful than many from that era. In fact, I would put it well above average

I think Cyndi Lauper is doing fine so I'm not sure why she's being used here as the epitome of failure. Cyndi was not like Lady Gaga because she was always overshadowed by Madonna even while having moderate success. From what I can tell she never wanted all the spotlight of being a star so I don't think she cried about it. She achieved some success and took some time off to have a family. I actually saw her in concert when she was big and pregnant. Cyndi made a choice to focus on other things like her family (married for over 20 years) and so her music took a backseat to that and her LGBT charity work.
Lady Gaga is not having that kind of career. She's a person in the spotlight and wants to be there. If her album flops it's not on some Cyndi Lauper projectory. It just doesn't take much to fall from grace in the music industry especially if you take time off. Some new thing is always ready to take your place. She made enemies with Perez Hilton who despite being a douche, has a large following & he's usually is pretty good at pushing music. Instead he spread the message she's an out of control mess. There were lots of negative stories about her. If she can pull it together and make successful appearances like at SNL then she still has hope to turn things around.

Exactly. To even remember 'Girls Just Want To Have Fun' or 'True Colors'. Your age needs to be higher than 35. Well beyond the average age of people here.
