Britney Spears' 'Britney Jean' Headed for Top Debut on Billboard 200Britney Spears' new album "Britney Jean" is on course to score the highest debut on next week's Billboard 200 chart. Industry forecasters suggest the album, released on Dec. 3, might sell around 115,000 to 120,000 copies by the end of the tracking week on Sunday, Dec. 8.That will like make the album debut around Nos. 2-4 on next week's chart. The new Billboard 200's top 10 will be revealed on Wednesday, Dec. 11. The likely new No. 1 will be Garth Brooks' box set, "Blame It All On My Roots," which could sell upwards of 150,000. The six-CD/two-DVD set, which is exclusively sold through Walmart stores, debuted at No. 3 on this week's chart after less than four days on sale. It bowed with 164,000, according to Nielsen SoundScan. The package was released on Thursday, Nov. 28 (Thanksgiving day), and the most recent tracking week ended on Sunday, Dec. 1. "Britney Jean" will also have to contend with the continuing success of One Direction's current No. 1, "Midnight Memories," and the Robertsons' "Duck the Halls: A Robertson Family Christmas" album. If "Midnight Memories" declines by a typical 75% (or so) in its second week, it could sell around 135,000. The Robertson family -- of the hit TV show "Duck Dynasty" -- sold 136,000 of its album this week. As many Christmas albums are building in weekly sales now, the set could see a gain next week. Eminem's "The Marshall Mathers LP 2" is also in the mix. This week, it's No. 2 with 199,000.Spears' last studio album, 2011's "Femme Fatale," debuted at No. 1 with 276,000. Before that, 2008's "Circus" opened at No. 1 with 505,000. "Britney Jean" is Spears' eighth studio album. All seven of her previous studio sets have reached the top two rungs, with only 2007's "Blackout" missing the top.

Those Garth numbers are crazy. Scoring his 9th #1 album with a box set like that one.

What a missed opportunity. She could have been #1 with just a little extra push. Oh well...

Didn't even consider that Garth Brooks would be in the running for the top spot- he, apparently, has been missed.

This is a respectable number for an album with literally no promo or hits. She's selling off her name alone. Miley, Katy, and Gaga's first weeks were much more disappointing. This is BS and you Know it Duca!! Doesn't matter how you slice and dice these predictions, this is a bit of a disaster. I fear it won't even be certified Gold, if it follows Brinty's usual Trajectory.

I think what this season has shown is the power that walmart has to move cd's. with garth and DD. I hope Kelly does a walmart push with her country effort,

The Garth Brooks CD set is quite a deal though-6 or 7 album set? So that means many will be buying it as Christmas gifts. I could see it selling well.
As for the Jack Johnson John Mayer comment, they don't seem to have too much in common except they do very little promotion and always sell well. But they're certain male stars, especially rappers, that get compared like Jay Z, Kanye and Drake so it's not just the women. It's just women/divas have ruled the last part of this year (except for Eminem) and have had the most releases come out one after the other so you can't help but compare them.

She might even miss the top 5, despite BB suggesting the 2-4 range.
Garth, 1D, Robertsons, Kelly, and Eminem could all be higher than 115-120k, and Britney could certainly slide below those numbers too.

it is 4 albums, 2 DVDs and a 2 CD re-release. Still a good deal though The 2 CD re-release is "The Ultimate Hits," which is out of print again. (It's selling for 35+ on secondary market.) That in itself makes the purchase a great deal. Have we heard if this is going to be a limited release?

Britney should have waited until Spring because neither of her 2 singles were enough to make any kind of impact.

This is Britney's "Discipline" era. She truly is the new Janet. ummm no even Discipline sold nearly twice what Britney is going to sell. Discipline was still about to push 180k after several flopped albums back to back. Let's be honest 115k is probably being kind.

This is about what I expected-maybe a tad lower. I don't think they could have expected much more though. Someone did make a good point though-if we are declaring literally female a disappointment this year in pop music then maybe we need to readjust our expectations rather than all of them being flops with their first weeks
