Yes- Billboard should have never changed the rules so that the album that sold the most units in a week is No. 1. What was it thinkin'? Is the Pentatonix EP also available as a physical album? It's currently No. 1 on iTunes.

Looks like Katy is dropping 71% so it's reasonable to think Gaga would drop 80% since PRISM has been holding up well and they both had similar discounts.

Great numbers for Kelly. Would love to see her finally sneak past The Robertsons and get a new peak at #2.

I really think The Sound of Music has the potential to explode. I think the ratings tonight are going to be huge. Wha? It's up against new episodes on all other networks. If it scores a 2.0 in the demo, it'll be doing VERY well. true. I never miss Greys and Scandal but I am DVRing both of them tonight. The Sound of Music is LIVE and that is really appealing to me and I am assuming it will be big draw to other viewers also. I think it will be way above a 2.0 but who knows. guess we will see tomorrow in the morning. should be interesting to see how much the soundtrack improves on iTunes as the show is airing.

Great numbers for Kelly. Would love to see her finally sneak past The Robertsons and get a new peak at #2. I think she'll have a good shot at #1 the week of her Christmas special. Wouldn't be surprised if she logs 2 weeks of selling 180k+ during that week & the week after. :)

Wow at 1D dropping over 80%. I don't think it's that surprising for an act like them. Take Me Home opened similarly almost exactly a year ago and dropped only 67%. They have a legit hit this time and I feel like they're bigger now.

Looking at an 80%ish drop for ARTPOP. Yikes. Hopefully it rebounds with some nice-ish Christmas sales. I wonder if it would be the first album to drop 80%+ in its chart run multiple times. The first act with multiple +70% and possibly +80% drops within the first month of release? Tons of radio play, tons of promo, tons of discounts, and somehow she's still bombing. How is that possible? The album costs $3.99 on Amazon, where it's been priced under $5 since the release day. The $3.49 rule only applies for the first 4 weeks. I wonder how deep her discounts will get. Awful sales for Miley as well. All that buzz that consistently fails to translate into numbers.

Garth Brooks is going to rule the holidays! Since Wal-Mart only order 500K, the package should sell out sometime next week. So it won't be available the week before Xmas. As I mentioned earlier, I wonder if they are begging for more copies. This seems like it could easily clear 1MM units.

I think her antics are a double-edged sword: they helped her shed the "Hannah Montana" image for good, but have probably alienated segments of the audience that might have liked her music (or at least some songs) and considered buying her album. As a person she has reached the point where some people just hear her name and their feeling about her is just "No!" and they aren't going to bother with her music.

Walmart purchased 500,000. I don't see anything out there that there won't be another purchase after that?
BTW - 500K purchase means this is already 4x platinum

I also think Miley hasn't proven herself as an "album artist". she can sell singles but people (for the most part) have to know you can deliver in order to purchase an entire album. I am surprised Art POP isn't selling more. I wish more people would use amazon mp3 instead of iTunes. amazon has amazing sales on albums all the time!

Very impressive for Garth Brooks. Wish Kelly was a bit higher. Hopefully she can sneak past The Robertsons. HUGE drop for One Direction. :O Not liking the under 100k for Eminem either... and by a lot. :( Pentatonix :O wow very impressive! All off the power of a viral video they are going to move almost 70,000 albums. That is truly outstanding.

My predictions were sooooo laughably bad! Drops look way worse than last year despite us being closer to Xmas.

There's no need to over estimate or to act shocked by the numbers coming in. Just start accepting the new reality. Album sales have been down the entire year and will continue to go down. Streaming is siphoning off album sales.

Huh??? All for You opened with 605k!! and went on the sell 8 mill worldwide Damita Jo opened at 381k ! and sold 3 million worldwide(and that was post Super Bowl gate) 20 Y.O opened with 300k……you are definitely pushing it with the 3 back to back flops comments; at most 20 YO was indeed a true flop( and that opened at 300k) DJ was considered a flop as well. Discipline was widely regarded as Janet's best album since AFY and VR. Janet had been 4 years since her last Top 20 pop hit. Britney's album was sold during the highest sales period of the year. Janet's was sold during the slowest time for record sales during the year. Discipline probably could've pulled in 300k if it was released around Christmas time. Britney is on track to barely sell 100k during the holiday rush when people have their wallets out and will buy anything. Regardless, it still wasn't 3 back to back flops. And DJ's 381k opening can hardly be called a 'flop'…more like underperformed. She really only had one flop leading into Discipline and that was 20 YO.

"Damita Jo" can't be considered a flop as it sold over a million copies plus "I Want You" was a decent radio hit (didn't it hit #1 on Urban AC?). And "20 Y.O" had "Call On Me" (one of her biggest urban hits). "Feedback" is probably close to Platinum digitally.
