Great week so far for Joe here. A bullet of 499 on Mediabase and up to #18. It should be #16 on Billboard with Eric and Keith to go recurrent and Craig now falling fast. What's nice for "Yeah" right now is that nobody is near him in audience. Dustin is over 3 million behind on Billboard and 5.5 million ahead of Paslay on Mediabase. I see Joe automatically getting to #16 on both charts due to some house cleaning but it's gains have me thinking Joe could have a realistic shot at #1 for a second straight time, even though this week will mark his 20th on the singles chart. BTW: That iPod line never gets old. ;) Edit: #17 on Mediabase. "Cop Car" has one more unbulleted week left on Mediabase and I don't see it falling far enough to have Joe get passed him.

Sorry for a double post. But here's the music video. :)
Reminds me of the old Nickelodeon show Kablaam!

Great video! A very unique concept executed wonderfully, imo. It really elevates the song, which I already love.

That's easily my favorite video in quite some time. I love how they didn't go for the obvious route and actually put some thought into how they were going to do it. Loved it.

Superb video! Gosh, Joe Nichols just oozes charm :)
I really enjoy "Yeah". It's yet another song in a long line of harmless, inoffensive, and catchy songs, but Joe's vocal and the production bring it above average. I do wish we had some more details in the lyrics--just what is it about this guy sitting there that draws the girl to him?--but it's pretty obvious that they wrote the lyrics around the "yeah" hook.
But despite the underdeveloped lyrics, I do really enjoy this one. It's not Joe's best work but it's a cute and fun (albeit a little bit corny) song, and a nice one to sing along to. It's just really nice to have Joe back on the radio again, and doing well. I think this might be another #1 for him but if not, then for sure a top 5. I was so thrilled when I saw that he signed with Red Bow Records. Broken Bow isn't quite as big/powerful as Big Machine is yet but they're pretty similar with a 3-imprint label now and Red Bow having Joe as their flagship artist is just perfect.
I don't have the Crickets album yet but I definitely need to check it out.

I really wanted Crickets in hard copy but couldn't find it at Target or all my local stores :(
Haven't gotten around to Amazon yet or iTunes but I will. This is lightweight, but his voice and delivery make it work.
Like someone else mentioned in a different thread-I'm thrilled with most of the songs lately; this song is one more reason why country radio is looking up for me this summer (with the exception of the dreaded Atkins trio song).

That video is amazing. Very well done. With them creating such an expensive and well thought out video, must mean that they are 100% on board with pushing this song to give Joe Nichols back to back Top 10 hits. If this does go Top 10, it'll the first time Joe scored back to back Top 10 hits since 2005 and his album "III". There's no chance in hell that Joe Nichols will score back to back Number One hits, but a Top 10 peak would be amazing. I am hoping there will be at least 2 more singles, but I am guessing they will only release one more. I actually think this song has a good chance of reaching #1. Joe has some momentum right now after Sunny and 75. "Yeah" is selling really well, is getting good callout scores, and just sounds like a country song should. I say Joe gets back to back #1's.

I'm not completely convinced that this can make its way all the way to #1, but there is a chance. So to say there's no chance in hell that Joe will never score back-to-back #1's, simply because he's never done so, seems a bit silly to me. "Yeah" is doing great on the charts right now and looks to be an easy top 10 with a decent shot at #1. There's a first time for everything!

It'll undoubtedly take him all of June and a portion of July for him to reach the top 10, but I also expect him to get there.

This is what I get when I click on "View in iTunes" though: The button just says "play", and it won't let me actually buy it.

This has to be a glitch on your end. I can buy it separately and have been able to do so all week (I downloaded it long ago from Amazon MP3 though). And that's not to mention the ad in tonight's Aircheck chart mentioning single sales of over 28k for "Yeah" this past week. Those were track sales, not full album sales. The album is up 12% in sales as well but it's been discounted on iTunes and I've recently seen it marked down in price at Wal-mart as well.

This song has been red hot lately. Now that it's reached the top 10, I definitely see this one reaching #1. For a lack of better explanation, it just sounds authentically country. What baffles me is how much quicker this song has risen up the charts then Billy Currington's second single. I consider those two to be comparable in terms of popularity and status, but it seems like radio is really getting behind Joe recently. If Joe and his team make a good choice for his 3rd single, they could really solidify one of the best comebacks in country music in recent years. I'm really happy to see this song doing so well, and glad to have Joe back on the radio.

This is definitely one of my absolute favorites right now on radio. It's total ear candy done the correct (and country) way. I'll be thrilled if this gets him back-to-back Number Ones. The rejuvenation he's seen since moving to Red Bow has been exciting, since he's got one of the better voices among the male country stars and has some pretty great material both past and present, considering the Crickets album is incredibly solid. There's certainly no shortage of potential to pick from for the third single.

I guess IMO, Joe's sounds a little more country with more of a story (as simple as it is). And personal preference of course, but I think Joe has one of the better voices on country radio right now-better than Billy. But I may not represent your average taste, since the most popular voice right now (luke Bryan) grates on me and always has me baffled as to why he is so popular. Joe's song also seems to have the right amount of radio ready sing along upbeat quality for summer-a token 'non-bro' if you please . No matter the reason, I'm pretty happy to hear this frequently.

Joe's song is pretty simple but I still like it. It's really the only "saw this girl out in a field and next thing you know we had a couple drinks and hit it off" song that I like, and that's because a) Joe's delivery of the song is very strong, b) there is nothing in the lyrics that implies that this guy is a tool just looking to 'get some', c) the lyrics are both cute and innocent, and d) it actually sounds rather country (albeit contemporary country). Plus, Joe doesn't release too many fluffy tunes...he records plenty of songs with more substantial lyrics, whereas a lot of the songs/artists I'm critical of simply don't record the deeper tunes very often. "Yeah" isn't likely to win any songwriting awards but it works for me, especially since Joe did a great job of balancing his album out with some more well-written fare.
I really like Billy's song as well and I agree that it's a bit frustrating that it took so long to take off, but I am hearing both "Yeah" and "We Are Tonight" a ton down here in Phoenix and I crank the radio up every time each one comes on. :) "Yeah" definitely has a great chance of getting to #1 and I think Billy has a chance too, although if either of these songs fizzles out in the 5-10 range, WAT is the more likely of the two.

Joe's song is really hot right now. An impressive bullet of 718 on MB today. His audience gains over the past 4 weeks on MB have been 4.1 million, 2.9 million, 2.9 million, and 3.7 million. A monthly increase of 13 million. His audience over the same amount of time on BB has been over 12 million as well. "Yeah's" in it's 25th week on the chart and it's pretty much a guarantee this will hit #1, not just from the terrific gains it's been garnering, but the fact he's almost 5.5 million behind Chris' song and now over 3 million ahead of Billy's. With Craig losing his bullet and Brett moving down, Joe will move to #6 this week on MB and BB.
Joe's always been one of my favorite artists. His voice is easily one of the best among males in the genre IMO and his albums for the most part have been superb. I was very worried after the low peak of "Take It Off" and leaving Show-Dog after just one single that he might never get back to this kind of airplay level, but between "Sunny And 75" and now "Yeah", this has arguably been Joe's hottest back to back singles of his career since his first two major label debut singles ("The Impossible" and "Brokenheartsville") and the first back to back top 5 singles of his since "What's A Guy Gotta Do" (#3 on R&R) and "Tequila Makes Her Clothes Fall Off" (#1) in 2005.

Gave up on trying to find the hard copy (don't like ordering off Amazon either) and finally just bought it on iTunes. $10 for 16 songs.
This is a solid album and such a nice traditional (yet updated) country sound. His voice isn't unique, but just so clear and resonant.
Thanks for posting that video-just watching it now and loved it. Very clever take on a simple cliche storyline and I love how it has an overall 'sweet' and almost old fashioned feel compared to the 'Get me some' theme songs out there.

I think it's safe to say this will go #1. Over the past 5 weeks, "Yeah" has increased nearly 18 million in audience on MB, with a 4.7 million increase this past week alone. He's also increased 16 million in that amount of time on Billboard. It soars from 8 to 5 and has a bullet of 748 on MB today which is the second most outside of Kenny, and easily the greatest gainer inside the top 20. Plus there's nobody behind him in shouting distance. Billy is still 800 spins back and 4 million in audience behind Joe, even with a great week by him as well.
"Yeah" is 26 weeks old and he should have his first back to back #1 on both MB/R&R and Billboard of his career.
