No animated film has been nominated since the Best Picture category was changed so that only films that receive at least 5% of a top pick on the ballots will make it.
5% of Academy voters will not name an animated film as their #1 pick.

Frozen was incredible, and I'm loving all the success the soundtrack is now seeing. Let's be real, Elsa is the actual reigning diva. Literal queen.

^I haven't seen it, but is that an actual fact or speculation? It will be a home-video rental for me, at the least.

If they explicitly call her a lesbian in the film, you would have heard about it by now. It doesn't take much reading between the lines to catch it. "Let It Go" is basically a coming out anthem.

The music in Frozen is so good. I am glad to see it having so much success. I think it will eventually be seen as a Disney classic. Is the film really that good? The trailers/promo for the film didn't capture me like other Disney films. I guess I might have to go see it after all.

PTB, I just meant if, during the movie, there are any hints/teasers/winks about such things. You know, like in SpongeBob. A Disney Princes without a romantic interest? Perish the thought. Who's here for Frozen, to end up as the top-selling album of 2014? may be a stretch, but figure that the home-video release probably will give it a second wind.

We'll it is the top seller of the year SO FAR. Slow steady seller, mirroring the movie.
The first big blockbuster to come through this year will beat it though

Not only does she not need a man, but she's locked away in the castle and holding a deep secret. That secret controls her life, and she is scared to death that anyone will find out. People find out, she runs away, and boldly proclaims her independence in "Let It Go."

^Substituting magical powers for lesbionic inclinations- often looking for the underlying gay themes, aren't we? ;)
Anyways, glad to hear it's a quality picture. Disney, more often than not, does get it right.

To me, it's the best Disney movie since The Lion King (as some critics say).

The last Walt Disney Animated movie was Wreck-It Ralph.

Looks like the headlines on this will have to change. From Hits: CHART MURMUR: It's now looking like Disney's Frozen soundtrack will have another week at #1 on the HITS Album Sales Chart. Kudos to label chief Ken Bunt and the frozen head of Walt. The chart's still building; keep watching and stay tuned for our wrap-up when it closes tomorrow afternoon. (1/13p) So no Beyonce #1 this week Way to disrespect the late Walt Disney. Walt Disney kind of gave history no other choice than to make these kind of jokes... PS. I loved Frozen, and it should win Best Animated Feature, but I don't think it needs to be up for Best Picture. I think it's funny that a musical was just announced for Frozen when Wicked will still be playing (so similar).

I think this video gives a good explanation of why the Disney trailers are the way they are now: www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZxcPNcAtg_MThe video explains about why Rapunzel was marketed the way it was (in the posters and trailers). If you don't want to watch the whole video, watch 7:06 to 10:23.

I would say it is probably the best Disney film in a long time and gets back to what made Disney Disney for so many years. I mean, if I am being critical I could point out issues, but it is beautifully made, genuine, has an interesting plot, etc.

Aloe Blaac's EP made quite the jump- a matter of steady sales, or even a relatively small gain, amidst the plummeting numbers that others saw.
And check out Billie Joe and Norah's album.
