Kid Ink Set For Top Debut on Billboard 200 Albums Chart NEWS By Keith Caulfield, Los Angeles | January 08, 2014 9:27 PM EST Rapper Kid Ink is poised to make the highest bow on next week's Billboard 200 chart with his major-label debut, "My Own Lane."
The set, released Jan. 7 on Tha Alumni Group/88 Classic through RCA Records, may sell between 40,000 and 45,000 copies by the end of the tracking week on Jan. 12.
That should be enough to enable the album to debut at No. 3 on next week's tally.
The new Billboard 200's top 10 will be revealed on Jan. 15.
Kid Ink has charted twice previously, with his debut studio set "Up & Away" (No. 20 in 2012) and his first EP for RCA, "Almost Home" (No. 27 in 2013).
Beyonce's self-titled album may return to No. 1 on the chart next week, while the list's current champ, the soundtrack to "Frozen," could dip to No. 2. βFrozenβ ruled the chart this week with 165,000 sold, according to Nielsen SoundScan, while "Beyonce" fell 1-2 with 130,000.
Neither album is expected to sell more than 100,000 in the week ending Jan. 12, which is typical for this time of year.
In January, after the busy holiday shopping season -- and a slew of big-named acts releasing albums in the fourth quarter -- there usually is a quiet period on the chart where few albums sell in large quantities. (Comparatively, a year ago next week, the top-selling album was Chris Tomlin's "Burning Lights," with 73,000 copies sold.)

Frozen is currently ahead of BeyoncΓ© on both Amazon and iTunes, so I guess BeyoncΓ© is doing better in stores?

YOUR TOP 15: BeyoncΓ© will return to #1 on next week's chart as the top albums fall below six digits for the usual January slump. RCA's Kid Ink is the only new entry this week. Here's how it looks headed into the weekend: 1. BeyoncΓ© (Columbia) 80-85k 2. Frozen (Walt Disney) 70-75k 3. Kid Ink (RCA) 45-50k 4. Eminem (Shady/Aftermath/Interscope) 35-40k 5. Lorde (Lava/Republic) 30-35k 6. One Direction (SYCO/Columbia) 23-26k 7. Katy Perry (Capitol) 19-22k 8. Miley Cyrus (RCA) 18-21k 9. Drake (YM/CM/Republic) 17-19k 10. Imagine Dragons (KidinaKorner/Interscope) 17-19k 11. Now 48 (UMe) 16-18k 12. R. Kelly (RCA) 15-17k 13. Florida Georgia Line (Republic Nashville) 14-16k 14. Justin Timberlake (RCA) 14-16k 15. Luke Bryan (Capitol Nashville) 14-16k In other January news, please stop saying "Polar Vortex." Meteorologists prefer the less jargon-heavy "really ****ing cold weather." Thank you. (1/9p)

Quite a dip that Frozen will take- it's back to $11.99 on iTunes, though, so not that shocking, I guess.

Don't count Gaga out just yet. HDD has left Gaga out of their predictions before.

Yeah it does, people were saying it flopped because R Kelly was on it but his album IS selling so there is interest there. I think people are just over Gaga, it happens. She's going to have to get her momentum back and figure out how to excite people again.

I think it was only one person blaming R. Kelly anyway and that person seems to have vanished or become silent on the issue. (I forget who it was. lol) The two have very different demographics. There's hardly a correlation between the sales of the two.

Beyonce Heading Back to No. 1 on Billboard 200After a one-week vacation from the top slot on the Billboard 200 chart, Beyonce is heading back to No. 1. The diva's self-titled set could sell around 85,000 to 90,000 copies by the end of the tracking week on Sunday, Jan. 12, according to industry forecasters. If it returns to No. 1, it will mark the fourth non-consecutive week atop the list for "Beyonce." Meanwhile, the current chart champ, the soundtrack to Disney's "Frozen" movie, will probably dip to No. 2 with around 75,000.The "Frozen" set stormed to No. 1 this past week on the chart, selling 165,000 copies in the week ending Jan. 5, according to Nielsen SoundScan. It bumped "Beyonce" out of the No. 1 position after a three-week reign. The top 10 of next week's Billboard 200 chart will be revealed on Wednesday, Jan. 15. The highest new entry on next week's list will likely be rapper Kid Ink's major label full-length album, "My Own Lane," with around 40,000 or so. That should place it around No. 3 on the chart. It should be the only debut in the top 10 next week. The rest of the top 10 should be populated with holdovers by the likes of Eminem's "The Marshall Mathers LP 2" (maybe 35,000), Lorde's "Pure Heroine" (30,000) and One Direction's "Midnight Memories" (25,000).On SoundScan's Building chart (below), "Beyonce" leads at No. 1, while Kid Ink and the "Frozen" soundtrack are Nos. 2 and 3, respectively. The Building tally is a precursor to the final Billboard 200 ranking -- reflecting the first four days (Monday through Thursday) of SoundScan's tracking week as reported by six major merchants. As for the rest of the top 10: Eminem, Lorde and One Direction are Nos. 4-6, while Katy Perry's "PRISM" is No. 7. Miley Cyrus' "Bangerz" is No. 8, Imagine Dragons' "Night Visions" is No. 9 and Drake's "Nothing Was the Same" rounds out the Building Chart's top 10 at No. 10. Nielsen SoundScan Building ChartRank LW BB 200 Artist Title1 2 Beyonce "Beyonce" 2 NEW Kid Ink "My Own Lane" 3 1 Soundtrack "Frozen" 4 3 Eminem "The Marshall Mathers LP 2" 5 5 Lorde "Pure Heroine" 6 6 One Direction "Midnight Memories" 7 4 Katy Perry "PRISM" 8 13 Miley Cyrus "Bangerz" 9 10 Imagine Dragons "Night Visions" 10 15 Drake "Nothing Was the Same" The Building Chart reflects the first four days (Monday through Thursday) of SoundScan's tracking week (which ends Sunday) as reported by six major merchants: iTunes, Trans World Entertainment, Best Buy, Starbucks, Target and Anderson Merchandisers. Billboard estimates that they make up about 85% of all U.S. album sales.

Now I know it may take awhile for me to grasp the concept of things I read, but that Building Chart does not match what they fonted in that article.

Nielsen SoundScan Building Chart is like the HITS building sales chart we get on Monday.
It is not to be compared with the HITS Top 15 we get each Thursday.

The SoundScan building chart is just for four days of sales, though, and covers around 85% of the market. So, it does differ in that sense from the HITS chart that comes Monday/Tuesday.
In any event, rankings usually look different come the final chart.
