Cassadee needs to perform this song somewhere with visibility for help to climb on iTunes.

After listening to her album a lot I've got to say this is probably the only song on it that I like, everything else is just mediocre to me. Having said that I'm only liking this one. The verses are excellent and I love the lyrics throughout but on the chorus I find her vocals to be screechy. I'm sure I'll eventually be able to get past that and learn to ignore it (i've done it before with other songs) but I'm hoping that when she goes to record album #2 she'll tone down the poppish sound of her vocals and reign it in a bit.

It probably was the wrong single choice. Hopefully it can still make it.

There's always so much doom and gloom in threads for new artists. The songs move up slowly, sometimes they don't really do anything for a couple weeks at a time...that's just the way it is. This is Cassadee's 2nd single. And it's made top 40 at Billboard in 5 weeks...that's incredibly good for a new artist. And it's had a pretty solid week on Mediabase too...up almost 90 spins in the last 7 days, and a gain of nearly 200k today alone.
Most likely, if this is a top 20 or better hit (and I think it will be), it'll be on the chart for 30-35 weeks, maybe more. This is just getting started yet.

It still wasn't a good single. "You Hear A Song" or "Good Times" would have been better. "Easier to Lie" is the best song, but I don't know if Country radio would accept it.

I disagree. I love this song and hope her label is able to get this into the top 10 or at the very least 20.

"You Hear a Song" is definitely not more radio friendly than this one, and "Good Times" is the most generic, faceless song on an album full of great songs. It's not bad, but I'd be disappointed if that one saw a release over just about everything else. The more I listen to the record, I feel like this was a good choice, even though my first pick would've been "11," though I'm still hoping that they can release that later on in the album era.

I want One Song Away after this peaks.
11 is nice but as far as Im concerned its a little too slow and boring.

This song is too similar in content and sound to Wasting All These Tears. They should have went with something more upbeat. I don't see this one being as big of a hit because of the redundancy. It's not a terrible song, but it just doesn't convince me that she's going to be a big star.

11 is nice but as far as Im concerned its a little too slow and boring. "11" reminds me of something Taylor Swift would've had on her debut album, and I could see it being a hit for the same reasons she courted radio with songs like "Tim McGraw" and "Teardrops on My Guitar." Obviously the country scene has changed a lot since then, so it certainly wouldn't be an obvious smash the way it may have been at that time, but I feel like it still has the potential to be a monumental single for her if everything goes right. I also love the song and it's my favorite on the album.

I just hope that "One Song Away" to be a single. But it couldn't happen.

-18 points on mediabase this week. I wonder if its over? I completely agree with .indulgecountry -- a very small loss like that is nothing, indeed. Besides, this made its debut today on Bob Kingsley's countdown show, so I'm guessing it'll have a fairly nice update tomorrow morning. It is going to climb slowly. Occasionally it might post a negative update or two. Patience, my friend. :)

She needs to go for adds on CHR, would love to see her smash on both Country and CHR.

I agree. ^
Still a shame WATT never got sent to CHR or HAC... I think it could have went at least top 20 on both formats.

I think they've been wise not to release any of her singles to other formats yet. It seems to me that country is to be her primary format and so they've been working to establish her there. The problem with trying to cross-over is that it doesn't present her as a true country artist, and I think that would hurt her standing in the eyes of country radio PD's. Maybe after she's had a few successful country hits they could pursue cross-over airplay if they are interested, but I think it's best to not go after it right now.

^^^This makes a ton of sense; sending any of her singles to another format and especially top 40 would be indefensibly dumb and counterproductive.

Grrrr... This isn't doing to well is it? WATT moved faster than this no? I doubt it goes much higher. Really wanted a top 10 or 20 for her followup.

Grrrr... This isn't doing to well is it? WATT moved faster than this no? I doubt it goes much higher. Really wanted a top 10 or 20 for her followup. WATT was her debut single, so naturally it had a lot more hype. She had just won The Voice. But this really isn't climbing much slower than WATT did. I've been trying to reassure you that new artists' singles simply climb very slowly at times. This may or may not be a hit, but at present, there's really no reason to believe that this is done or about done already. It can take quite some time for new artists' singles to catch on. After 9 weeks on Billboard, WATT was at #37. And "I Wish I Could Break Your Heart" was at #38 after its 9th week. So no, this isn't really moving any slower.

This is moving so slowly. I mean, I LOVE this song but I just want this to hurry the hell up and chart better. I'm tired of all those bro country songs invading radio. This deserves better.
But Wasting All These Tears took a while as well so this makes me believe that this could take a while as well.
