This is pretty cool, but I'm not a big fan of the cluttered production. Brad seems to be coming back to his own on this one. Hopefully, the album will be the same way.

Something I didn't realize until my sister pointed it out: This is exactly what summer entails for a lot of people around these parts. People who don't have a lot of money, but still come up here just to tube down the Au Sable River.

OH this has been a real grower for me. I did not really like it much when I first heard it, but I'm starting to do the 180 turn. Much better than any other of Brad's singles in recent memory and perfect summertime fare as I am riding in the car with the windows down. The chorus is a little cluttered production-wise in my ears (as are most of Brad's and everyone else's songs for that matter), but it is tolerable. This is one of the few new songs that I am enjoying right now.

Nothing too special, but I like it well enough. I do love that Brad Paisley's image is reflected in the top left corner though. That's a nice touch that I almost didn't notice, lol.

Maybe Brad Paisley wants people to forget about the Wheelhouse era. Reminds me of the Garth Brooks CD cover, Fresh Horses. His image is in his eye!

This will no doubt hit the Top 3. Will it be another number one for him though?
I can't wait to buy this record, I feel like it's going to be a big improvement from "Wheelhouse" (Though I loved that album). It will probably hit #2 or #3 because Ariana Grande is also releasing that week. Him not having a number one album it's truly a travesty.
Also, track #9 ""4WP" (featuring Brad Paisley)" is it a typo, or is it meant to be like that? I read there was supposed to be a duet with Emmylou Harris but I don't see her in any of the features. Maybe "4WP" will be a comedy sketch or because he has a prominent guitar solo he's also marked as a feature? What are your thoughts?

She sang lead and did the rap verse; that's the only time I've ever seen it done so maybe he'll be rapping on it? Who knows though it could just be Brad trying to be humorous.

That's what I was thinking. If it was any other artist, I would just assume typo. But because it's Brad, I believe it's meant to be that way.

You can put rock in my country. You can put pop in my country. BUT puh-LEEZ do not put rap in my country.
This just may be my favorite of Brad's singles since "Mud on the Tires". If the remix makes the airwaves, I'm turning the station.

Did Brad Paisley think he really needed Colt Ford to get River Bank higher up on the chart? Really? To be honest, it might not be a bad idea. This song hasn't had too many huge gains the past few weeks, and has Lee Brice and Dierks in front of him right now waiting for their weeks at #1 (and Billy looks to push for a #1 as well), and he has "Bartender" and "American Kids" right breathing down his neck right behind him. He should try anything at this point to inject some new life into this song. It's been way too long for Brad to not have a #1 song. I didn't get to listen to the remix yet, but if a country song is going to have a rap remix, I'd at least prefer it to be with Colt Ford, who actually is labeled as a "country" musician.

Not sure what a remix with Colt Ford is supposed to do for this at country radio when Colt Ford gets minimal airplay (as he should) himself.

Brad Paisley will be releasing a Moonshine In The Trunk ZinePak. ZinePak is a entertainment company that specializes in creating custom magazines to pair with CD's, announces the release of an exclusive package that takes a behind the scenes look at the creative process surrounding Paisley's new Arista Nashville album Moonshine In The Trunk. It will be a 64 page magazine and include a collectible bumper sticker. This will be a Wal-Mart exclusive product. Source

Brad got passed today on the Mediabase chart by Lady Antebellum's "Bartender", and I would expect they'll stay above him on Billboard too. With the album release coming up soon, and with Dierks and Lady A next in line to reach #1, it looks like Brad will most likely peak at #2 again. Hopefully his second single will be a little bit stronger because it's hard to believe his last #1 was in 2011.

I know you mean Billboard, but Brad did get to #1 with "Beat This Summer" and "Southern Comfort Zone" on MB in 2013. ;) Brad actually got to #1 on at least one of Mediabase or Billboard 14 consecutive times from 2006 to 2010. And if you go back to "Mud On The Tires", he hit #1 on either chart 17 out of the next 19 times ("Alcohol" got to #3 on R&R, #4 on Billboard and "This Is Country Music" got to #2 on both MB and Billboard).

Yeah I pretty much only care about Billboards charts, but lately I've been starting to follow MB as well. And tell me about it, Brad used to be as strong on radio as Blake Shelton is now. The thing I love about Brad is I feel he's really had so many unique songs, and never settled for simple generic topics. "Online" and "Welcome to the Future" we're groundbreaking songs in my opinion. While the charts are pretty strong right now in quality, there's still a lack of unique songs such as Brads older material.

While the charts are pretty strong right now in quality, there's still a lack of unique songs such as Brads older material. I completely agree. From 2003 to 2009, Brad was fantastic IMO. "Alcohol", "When I Get Where I'm Going", "Ticks", "Online", "Letter To Me", "I'm Still A Guy", "Start A Band", and "Welcome To The Future" were very unique and there really wasn't any other artist that was singing songs like those. I've always thought that from 2004-2007 there were many more unique and interesting songs filling up the charts and on the radio compared to now. There's still quality material being made IMO ("Roller Coaster", "What I Can't Put Down", "We'll Come Back Around", "Like A Cowboy") but not like it was 8-10 years ago IMO. "Online" is one of my all-time favorite songs and I think "Welcome To The Future" was easily one of the best songs in all of 2009. As for MB/R&R - I discovered it in early 2005 and was absolutely fascinated by the charts back then. When Nielsen bought R&R in the summer of 2006, I know many abandoned R&R and followed strictly Billboard, while Billboard have of course has had their fans for many years. It is quite convenient to follow Billboard and look up peaks since most are readily available on Wikipedia, but I find it unique for me since many here aren't that into MB which is fine. The artists and songwriters in Nashville follow both, though many do lean towards MB and that's probably why labels feel it worth to put those ridiculous pushes for #1 singles now. I agree that the manipulated pushes have gotten absurd the past few years and that really bugs the living heck out of me since it takes the shine off #1 singles. It used to not be that way, at least in 2004-2007 or so (or at least it seemed that way to me). Many songs peaked at #2-#6 back then. Now it seems every song that reaches the top 10 peaks at either #1 on MB and BB or #2 on BB and #1 on MB. It does appear that "River Bank" is currently the weakest link inside the top 5-6 right now, and that it's #1 chances are up in the air at best.

The labels really don't care which trade they reach #1 in; you'll see ads in both Country Aircheck Weekly and Billboard Country Update every Monday evening touting #1 singles on either chart in both publications.
Obviously the differences in the chart methodology policies in both trades certainly explains why very few songs wind up #1 for the year in both trades; nobody's done that since 'Just Got Started Lovin' You by James Otto in 2008, and it won't happen this year either, with Billy Currington on track to have the #1 country single airplay-wise for the second straight year at Billboard with 'Hey Girl'; he'll be lucky to crack the year-end top 10 at Country Aircheck/Mediabase.
Brad still has some work to do to get to #1, so I hope he gets there somehow.

If River Band does indeed peak at #2, I will be able to move Brad Paisley from #19 to #12 on the list of those artists with the most runner up hits.

It frustrates me to see Brad Paisley keep coming up short of getting a BB #1, but I must say that in this particular case, it wouldn't bother me to see him miss No. 1 since so few songs seem to stop at Top 5 these days with the revolving door at the top. That said, it looks like he had a rather big gain today, so it's possible he'll get another Mediabase-only #1 here, perhaps?

Perhaps but Lady A is still going strong and has had massive audience gains lately. Tim/Faith are also on the heels of Brad, and both songs are considerably younger. Brad still has the spins edge though. Dierks will be going #1 for sure, but can Brad find a way to leapfrog him for the #1 on MB this week with a push from Arista. The problem is that Dierks is so far in front right now in spins and audience, so that would be difficult to accomplish. Plus if the push is this week, they'd better get it or it's game over and it's certainly game over if Lady A gets in front. The next two to three days will tell for sure what will happen but Brad's still got plenty of work to do here. I forgot to mention Brad co-hosted Country Countdown USA this past weekend and his song is working on week #5 inside the top 5. Tim is next weekend, Dierks is the 23rd-24th, and Lady A is the 30th-31st. So unless we see the push of all pushes this week, I don't see "River Bank" going #1. But it is only Monday, and ever since "Friday Night", I've been gun shy being sure about these.

Dierks was on Bobby Bones today so I'd expect a hefty gain for Drunk on a Plane tomorrow.
But yeah, I'm curious to see what happens with River Bank. It's kind of been treading for the past few weeks.
