Who was filling in for Wendy? Or was it Wendy for her usual time slot? I was on my way to a store so i wasn't paying much attention. I think his name was Eric or something, it wasn't Wendy though That's Eric Jordan. He fills in often during Holidays. He's also on other FM stations I believe. WYRK playing "The Outsiders" isn't that shocking. I've heard them play "Wanted You More" and "Shinin' On Me" on more than one occasion this year so a song that peaked in the 20's is not completely out of the norm for them.

Pretty cool hearing "One Of The Boys", "Put Your Best Dress On" and "One Day Closer To You" in 2014. The BlackHawk song I haven't heard in forever.

So on my way home, WYRK went from playing Sam Hunt's "Take Your Time" to Alabama's "Mountain Music". It was the weirdest transition and the most jarring experience I think i've had with WYRK...

This station irritates me more frequently than not, so I try not to listen to it that much but here's an hour:
Sun Daze (Florida Georgia Line) Rain is a Good Thing (Luke Bryan) Take It On Back (Chase Bryant) Somewhere in My Car (Keith Urban) Where It's At (Dustin Lynch) Don't It (Billy Currington) Sure Be Cool If You Did (Blake Shelton) God Made Girls (RaeLynn) Crazy Town (Jason Aldean) Say You Do (Dierks Bentley) Girl in a Country Song (Maddie & Tae) Live Like You Were Dying (Tim McGraw) Law Low (Josh Turner) Keep Me In Mind (Zac Brown Band)
They RARELY play anything that isn't relatively current mainstream and all the transition and background music is hip-hop beats.

So I turned on WYRK for the hell of it and they were playing "The Devil Went Down To Georgia" I don't think I've ever heard that song on the radio before.... plus its not like them to play a song older than 10 years... I mean they do sometimes but almost certainly never something from the late 70's! Still though really cool! ....crap they just followed it up Drink To That All Night...

Don't know whether this belongs more in the "Overplayed Singles" thread or this one but I figure I'll put it in this one, anyway i've been hearing Gary Allan's "Man To Man" a lot on WYRK these last few days. I think they've played it at least like 4-5 times in the past days. Not that I'm complaining or anything ;) just weird considering i never really heard them play it that much before

Agreed. I keep forgetting that was even a single much less a #1 since I never hear it. Oh, and WATZ also played Hillbillies by Hot Apple Pie a while before that list. I actually said "yes!" when the intro kicked in.

So this morning WYRK played Sara Evan's "Suds In The Bucket" and then proceeded to play Miranda Lambert's "Only Prettier".
I thought it was illegal to play two females in a row on country radio? ;)

WYRK (Taste Of Country Night's) just played Sam Hunt's "Take Your Time" followed by George Strait's "Check Yes Or No".
Talk about a shock to your system.
