Is it me or does 'gotta have contigo' make no sense? lol even in Spanish it doesn't seem to make sense 'tener contigo'.

America's Got Talent performance:
Looks like I was wrong all the time and Enrique says 'gotta have contigo' instead of 'para have contigo' Despite the former is better than the latter, it's still weird. Is it me or does 'gotta have contigo' make no sense? lol even in Spanish it doesn't seem to make sense 'tener contigo'. It's not only you. I mean, it doesn't make sense at all. I keep thinking that it would have been better if they stuck this part in Spanish and not doing it in Spanglish.

YAAAAY at this smashing on radio and climbing fast on iTunes Not anymore - album and single pulled from iTunes. Brilliant marketing. Man, Enrique gets his first REAL hit in years and just as it's gaining momentum - this. Weird. Still available on Amazon....

Is it me or does 'gotta have contigo' make no sense? lol even in Spanish it doesn't seem to make sense 'tener contigo'. "Tener contigo" continues into the next line (as it does in English, "gotta have contigo...") "Tener contigo... Una noche loca." (I want) To have a crazy night with you.

This might actually make the top 10 on the Hot 100, I don't think so, but #13 isn't that far off. It's been forever since a Latin song reached the Top 10 in the U.S. the last one I can think of is Hips Don't Lie (although I could be missing something obvious).

"I Know You Want Me (Calle Ocho)" in 2009 is more recent. But certainly not as memorable as "Hips Don't Lie."

Hips Don't Lie is much more memorable though, that is true.

I'd love for it to be Top 10, especially as this is even more Latin-spiced than "Bailamos", it's a really hot song and I think he'd write the trivia books by having two one-word top 10s with titles in a language other than English, and different conjugation forms of the same verb!

Casually flipping through NYC radio, one could think this is a Hot 100 #1 right now. Holy hell. I hope it at least breaks top 10.

New milestone for "Bailando," according to Billboard's Chart Beat:
Enrique Iglesias: "Bailando," featuring Descemer Bueno and Gente de Zona, pushes 13-12, highlighted by an uncommon radio airplay achievement. Rising 11-10 on Radio Songs (70 million in audience, up 5 percent, according to Nielsen BDS), "Bailando" is the first top 10 not available in a predominantly English mix since… Los Del Rio's "Macarena." That pop culture classic reached No. 7 on Radio Songs in 1996. (After the original Spanish-language release of "Bailando," a Spanglish crossover version followed.)
