I think it's about Kanye West. Does she actually say it's about another female artist or does she say something like "diva" or "princess" or anything? In the article, she says she wants to people to know it's about a female so they don't think it's about an ex.

Katy took a few of the dancers from Taylor's Red Tour last summer. It is implied in the Rolling Stone article. So, Taylor Swift wrote a song about it. How original! Taylor said in the article,It was about a female sabotage her business which means her tour. Many artists/songwriters write about many things related to their life. Since it is Katy,I think as a Swift fan,I will be hearing Katy's songs a lot different when they come on the radio.

RS cover is fantastic. And I'd love for her to drag Katy Perry through the mud, but...over back up dancers? Girl... To me, the situation seems like the straw that broke the camel's back... I'm guessing Katy was always more of a frenemy and this sort of just drew the line in the sand? I don't know, only they do, but I am completely here for it. Katy seems like such a word I would rather not type. The whole interview was fantastic, one of her best. Link: www.rollingstone.com/music/features/taylor-swift-1989-cover-story-20140908

As Cam said, I doubt it's all about the dancers (which everyone solely seems to be focusing on, oddly enough). I am sure that is just the card that knocked the card house down. She said in the interview, for instance, this person would approach her at award shows throughout the years and say things that could be taken as incredibly insulting. That gives a bit more insight into their tension and why it has accumulated to the point it has. Also take into account they share an ex and well...
Meanwhile, I agree with Cam. To me, Katy seems a bit see you next Tuesdayish, but hey, maybe I'm just reading her wrong.

Katy Perry Slams Unnamed Mean Girl After Talk of Taylor Swift FeudPaging Taylor Swift? In the early hours of Tuesday, Sept. 9, Katy Perry took to Twitter to warn her 56.7 million followers of an unnamed mean girl -- less than 24 hours after fresh speculation began of a supposed feud between Perry and Swift. "Watch out for the Regina George in sheep's clothing…" Perry, 29, tweeted without context on Tuesday, referencing the lead character and ultimate mean girl, played by Rachel McAdams, who faced off against Cady Heron, played by Lindsay Lohan, in the hit 2004 comedy Mean Girls. The cryptic words followed widespread chatter that there is tension between the "This Is How We Do" performer and Swift, 24. The drama started when the "Shake It Off" singer gave a revealing cover story interview for the new issue of Rolling Stone, and at one point during the sit-down, spoke tantalizingly of issues she has with another famous female artist. Said artist is the subject of a song called "Bad Blood," which is featured on Swift's upcoming album, 1989. Explaining the song's inspiration, she told Rolling Stone, "For years, I was never sure if we were friends or not. She would come up to me at awards shows and say something and walk away, and I would think, 'Are we friends, or did she just give me the harshest insult of my life?'… She did something so horrible. I was like, 'Oh, we're just straight-up enemies.' And it wasn't even about a guy! It had to do with business. She basically tried to sabotage an entire arena tour. She tried to hire a bunch of people out from under me. And I'm surprisingly non-confrontational – you would not believe how much I hate conflict. So now I have to avoid her. It's awkward, and I don't like it." While Swift mentioned that the feud wasn't about a boy, she and Perry both famously dated John Mayer, and Rolling Stone notes that when "pressed," Swift said there was a personal aspect to the drama, "but I don't think there would be any personal problem if she weren't competitive." Both chart-topping women were also on tour beginning in February 2011, with Perry wrapping in January 2012 and Swift in March 2012. For her part, Swift chose not to offer further clues as to the inspiration for "Bad Blood." Other artists whose names have been included in the talk include Miley Cyrus and Demi Lovato. In an online watercooler poll at Us Weekly, 70 percent of more than 8,500 readers who voted guessed the song was about Cyrus. celebrity.yahoo.com/news/katy-perry-slams-unnamed-mean-girl-talk-taylor-122500087-us-weekly.html

I am so tired of her act. (her meaning Taylor). Yes her songs are catchy and I like them, but she hides her bitchiness behind this sweet girl "Oh my gosh you guys!" act. She is just as bitchy as she is making Katy Perry out to be. She should just own it instead of taking veiled digs and then pretending to be all coy and sweet.

Sigh. Everytime I start to like Taylor, she goes and does something like this.
She always says she never reveals who her songs are about, yet she gives clues that allow the public an easy shot to figure it out?
I wish she'd just stick to writing songs, instead of making a spectacle out of them because she enjoys the chase.
Calculated things like this suggest she's no better than Katy, and she's hiding behind a sweet persona to get people on her side.

SO interesting this is great. I've always actually thought that Tay was an undercover bitch, and that Katy was a competitive ho trying to act humble. Suddenly it seems like I could have been right about both of them

Well this is fun. One pop star that I go back-and-forth between liking and being annoyed by pitted against another pop star that I can't stand. I assume it was more than a few backup dancers and my guess is that (at least from Katy's end) it has a good amount to do with John Mayer.

LOVE this. I don't buy for a second that there is one completely innocent party between the two of them, and I don't particularly like either of them, so I'm totally here for a cat fight. Maybe the snidest tweeter win.

Taylor Swift & Katy Perry's Dancer Basically Confirms the Feud, Talks Switching ToursThe feud between Taylor Swift and Katy Perry just got a little more interesting after this interview with dancer Lockhart Brownlie has resurfaced from last year, basically confirming what everyone has been thinking. Lockhart toured with Katy on the Part of Me Tour and then after it wrapped, he and two other dancers from the tour auditioned to be a part of Taylor‘s Red Tour. “I was with Taylor for the first six months,” he told the Examiner. “It was a great experience and she’s a great person to work with, but then Katy contacted us.” “Obviously we were with Katy for 2 1/2 years, she’s like family to us, so we were, like, `absolutely’,” Dominic said about leaving the Red Tour to join Katy‘s Prism promo tour. “We weren’t really dancing in Taylor‘s tour anyway so I had got a little bored and I really wanted to do a promo tour.” “The experiences were completely different,” he added. “Taylor is very untouchable. When we did see her, we had so much fun with her, but she’s a lot more protected than Katy. Katy‘s 28 now and can do her own thing. Her team are so lovely, so we have such a good connection. And this time around she is a lot more in control.” www.justjaredjr.com/2014/09/09/taylor-swift-katy-perrys-dancer-basically-confirms-the-feud-talks-switching-tours/

Yeah...I sincerely hope that no one is falling for Taylor Swift's Little Miss Sunshine act. That said, I like her as an artist (at least over the last 2 albums, Ronan, and Shake It Off), so I guess I'm #TeamTaylor?

I don't doubt for a moment that Taylor isn't all sweet and no sour, but she doesn't strike me in the slightest as a straight-up bitch. She likely, like the average human, gets pissed and acts accordingly. I don't think because she doesn't boldly broadcast her snarky side like other acts means she is trying to act all "sweet and innocent". What person in their right mind believes someone is all sunshine and daises 24/7? When you are a pop superstar and ceo of a multi-million dollar empire, have a youthful following, and are broadcasted as the ultimate role model it is called being business savvy and smart to keep reigns on the outbursts.
Furthermore, the slick shade (elusive and moreso inferred without ever confirming) is a celebrity staple. C'mon now.

You can't choreograph alot of Taylor's songs, so I can see why LH wanted to jump back to Katy. Her tour seems to be everything and more. How are Tay's tours?

Hmm. You can't choreograph alot of Taylor's songs, so I can see why LH wanted to jump back to Katy. Her tour seems to be everything and more. How are Tay's tours? RED tour was like this: State of Grace: Beginning. Just tay Holy Ground: dancers came into the stage from the ceiling playing drums Red: Dancers with red flags You Belong With me: Just tay The Lucky One: First act with a lot of dancers from the '20s '30s idk Mean: Just her Stay Stay Stay: just tay 22: A lot of dance B-stage (she with her guitar alone): Starlight Everything has Changed (with ed) Surprise Song Begin Again Sparks Fly Back to main stage: IKYWT: Lot of dance All too well: tay + piano Love Story: dancers Treacherous: just tay WANEGBT: lot of dance In resume, 18 songs, 7 songs with considerable dance. Her tours tend to be she and her guitar, like the special connection, but i guess with the 1989's tour, it'll be different

Looking at it more, I'm thinking it had more to do with John, lol(and the shade spoken to her from Katy). Just using the dancer transferring as focal point. I'm intrested nonetheless.

Lol, so a couple Katy Perry dancers went back to Katy Perry? I can really see how that would crumble the Swift empire!
This girl knows what she's doing. Katy's another middling-performing single from being out of favor, and for a popstar as shrewd, in control and determined as Taylor, I'm sure that just tastes like blood in the water.
