The chorus is pretty repetitive. My only qualm with the song. I like it.

Sounds like a Sky Ferreira demo with a mediocre chorus. She's 0/2 for me.

It sounds like something from Tegan & Sara's last album. I guess they've rubbed off on her.

I really like this song (and am not normally a TS fan)- the production, instrumental, and melody are so 80s-esque- so nostalgic !

I LOVE this. I was so worried this would be more in line of "Stranger Than Fiction" - which I hate, so I am beyond excited for this. The instrumental is everything.

Took me goddamn 5 minutes to figure out how to download a pre-ordered track. Feeling like a crotchety old bat.
It's f**king fantastic. The repetitive chorus works so well within the context of the song (and the production), and I'm so glad it doesn't sound like an 80's pastiche. Bravo to Jack for the production work.
YES.

Love it!! The chorus may be repetitive, but it's by no means bad and it sticks with you. Between this and "Shake It Off", my expectations for this album are really high.

Good song that "Out Of The Woods" is. Kind of like a mix of a Lorde song from her album. 13 Days till this album comes out. :)

This is really good. I prefer this over "Shake It Off" right now.

This new song, along w/ SIO is still a little too repetitive for me. I'm still waiting for a hot song like IKYWT or 22! I can't wait to hear the full album!

"When we decided to move the furniture so we could dance Baby, like we had a chance"
Her background vocals, the atmospheric production touches..I just.

why wasn't THIS the lead? this is devastatingly anthemic.

why wasn't THIS the lead? this is devastatingly anthemic. I can see why they went with SIO, it's still sitting at #1 on iTunes (well...she just knocked herself off), #1 on Radio/Spotify and is a massive hit around the world. Her lead singles are rarely indicative of the album as a whole, it's always been that way. They seemed to be going to maximum impact with SIO and it worked, and now the promo singles show the other (massively better) sides of the album. From pretty much every fan that went to her secret sessions, this is one of the worst (relative) songs on the album? If this is in the bottom half, I'm ridiculously excited to hear the rest. New promo image...

First listen was eh; second listen was bliss. I love this song. Those backing vocals. That instrumental. That repetitive chrous that gains oomph with each listen. Smh. Queen.

When I heard the clip I was not impressed at all. Then I heard the full song and half way through fell in love with it. HOW DOES SHE DO THIS EVERY TIME.
It's like Lorde meets Radiohead with a sprinkle of Kelly Clarkson's My December

I like that the verses read/play like one of her older songs. That it's a personal story of hers.
I was worried about her transition into pop also changing some of her writing - I enjoy the personal touches.

"Eyes Open" meets "All Too Well" (lyrically) meets "In The Air Tonight". <3

People are buying 1989 to get out of the woods an that is exposing shake it off got high green updates. All about that bass keep crushing, #1 on lock. I hope she can be able to stay #1 when 1989 is released and then animals can take safely :)

I was worried about her transition into pop also changing some of her writing - I enjoy the personal touches. This is EXACTLY what I thought when I heard this. I was worried because I love the country Taylor - the story telling side. I was worried that her excellent story telling would be sacrificed for a poppier sound. I am relieved that this may not be the case. While I love jamming to Shake It Off, it's the "All Too Well's." the "Enchanted's," the "Best Day's" that made me adore her as a singer/songwriter.

@taylorswift13: For the next 13 days leading up to 1989, I'll be posting one lyric from each of the 13 tracks each day. #1989
Guess no more promo songs?
