I was able to meet her after the Cleveland show. Her mom picked me out for Loft 89. It was an amazing experience and she spent time with every person in there. Very, very sweet. Show was amazing, as well. I'm not expecting to be picked out of the 50,000+ people at her DC show, but I'm just curious what made her pick you. Were you close to the stage? Far? Dressed up? Dancing/singing like a super stan? I've always been so curious as to how they choose the people. I definitely was singing and freaking out hahaha. I didn't overdo it or dress up too much because like you, I didn't expect to be picked. Me and my buddies made lyric t shirts and that's about it. During I wish you would security tapped on me and asked my entire party to vacate the row and her mom was there. We hugged, she said she had been watching me freak out the entire show so far and asked if I would like to go to the loft...um DUH! We did have floor seats which made it easier to get spotted, but some of the people in there were from up high. Her mom and her taylor nation people scout the arena. My friends were able to come with me and Austin, her mom and her all hung out with everyone in the loft, there was pizza and cookies for everyone and she spends time individually with each person and everyone gets on auto and a group pic. It was an amazing time!!

I saw your picture (with your friend) somewhere else the day after the show, how exciting!
First boxscores are out, the two Tokyo Dome dates and the Tiger Stadium date have not been released.
Bossier City, LA May 20, 2015 CenturyLink Center 1/1 $1,458,197 12,459 /12,459 (100%) Detroit, MI May 30, 2015 Ford Field 1/1 $5,999,690 50,703 / 50,703 (100%) Louisville, KY Jun 2, 2015 KFC Yum! Center 1/1 $1,863,281 16,242 / 16,242 (100%) Cleveland, OH Jun 3, 2015 Quicken Loans Arena 1/1 $1,732,041 15,503 / 15,503 (100%) Pittsburgh, PA Jun 6, 2015 Heinz Field 1/1 $5,836,926 54,801 / 54,801 (100%)
$16,890,135 total from five dates. If she continues to average around this much for the rest of the tour (and it's seems likely), the 1989 Tour will outgross the Mrs. Carter Show Tour with about 54 fewer dates. Insane, she has entered Madonna touring territory at the age of 25.

Taylor Swift Donates $15,000 to Firefighter Who Saved His Own Family In between sold-out 1989 World Tour shows, Taylor Swift took a moment to quietly help out a family in need. On Saturday, Texas volunteer firefighter Aaron Van Riper responded to a 911 call regarding a car crash when he made a heartbreaking discovery: The victims in the accident were his own wife, Amber, and his son; the boy has been released from the hospital and Van Riper's wife, Amber, remains there, per the local ABC affiliate. The heartbreaking incident quickly gained national attention, and a friend of the family set up a GoFundMe account for the family's mounting medical bills. On Wednesday night, a donation for $15,000 was left for the family, which was signed "Taylor Swift." (Billboard has confirmed it's actually the singer). There have been more than 2,000 separate donations so far, so it seems like Swift has helped jump-start a worthy new trend. My charity queen is back :'(

I would be so nervous knowing her mom had been watching me during the show haha I would absolutely die to be picked, but like I said, I know it won't happen. I have 8th row seats to the DC show, but there will be 50,000+ people in attendance. There's a lot better chance at a show like Cleveland with a smaller crowd.

Blank Space video has over 930 million views...looks like it's going to surpass Katy relatively soon and become the 2nd most viewed VEVO video of all time! Should be 1 billion views relatively shortly!

Ok so this was too cute for me not to share. One of my classmates is in Italy for the summer and just shared this on FB.
"So I introduced my 7-year-old Italian au pair charge to #TaylorSwift. She loved it. She listened to #ShakeItOff over and over. Then she said, "Katy Perry!" I said, "Listen, we can listen to Katy Perry, but I want to make this very clear: Taylor is better than #KatyPerry on every level. Capisci?" "Yes, okay.""

A WrestleMania was held there. It had the previous record at 5.38M. Madonna's show there had 30,119 fans and grossed $2,395,900.

If Out of the Woods isn't a single at some point, I'll be so upset. I don't really like Shake it Off (or much of Taylor before that), so when I heard this I was like OOOOH this could be the album.

Wildest dreams is at #200s vicinity And Out Of The Woods is at #600s vicinity New Romantics 5th Wildest Dreams 6th My guess is the reason New Romantics is so high is because people who didn't buy the album had to buy the single. So many people have the album containing "WD" and OOTW" so I feel like the rankings aren't really showing much here because of that.

BB and WD were together as the best selling album tracks after 1989 release post first month, BB already was released, and like you said, NR is just high cause of that false rumor. On the other hand, OOTW has always been far away even from another tracks

PSY is HUGE in Asia, which has most of the world's population...and GS was an international sensation. It has almost 2.4 billion views, according to YouTube. Still, she has to be the most watched VEVO artist overall.

To Apple, Love Taylor
I write this to explain why I’ll be holding back my album, 1989, from the new streaming service, Apple Music. I feel this deserves an explanation because Apple has been and will continue to be one of my best partners in selling music and creating ways for me to connect with my fans. I respect the company and the truly ingenious minds that have created a legacy based on innovation and pushing the right boundaries.
I’m sure you are aware that Apple Music will be offering a free 3 month trial to anyone who signs up for the service. I’m not sure you know that Apple Music will not be paying writers, producers, or artists for those three months. I find it to be shocking, disappointing, and completely unlike this historically progressive and generous company.
This is not about me. Thankfully I am on my fifth album and can support myself, my band, crew, and entire management team by playing live shows. This is about the new artist or band that has just released their first single and will not be paid for its success. This is about the young songwriter who just got his or her first cut and thought that the royalties from that would get them out of debt. This is about the producer who works tirelessly to innovate and create, just like the innovators and creators at Apple are pioneering in their field…but will not get paid for a quarter of a year’s worth of plays on his or her songs.
These are not the complaints of a spoiled, petulant child. These are the echoed sentiments of every artist, writer and producer in my social circles who are afraid to speak up publicly because we admire and respect Apple so much. We simply do not respect this particular call.
I realize that Apple is working towards a goal of paid streaming. I think that is beautiful progress. We know how astronomically successful Apple has been and we know that this incredible company has the money to pay artists, writers and producers for the 3 month trial period… even if it is free for the fans trying it out.
Three months is a long time to go unpaid, and it is unfair to ask anyone to work for nothing. I say this with love, reverence, and admiration for everything else Apple has done. I hope that soon I can join them in the progression towards a streaming model that seems fair to those who create this music. I think this could be the platform that gets it right.
But I say to Apple with all due respect, it’s not too late to change this policy and change the minds of those in the music industry who will be deeply and gravely affected by this. We don’t ask you for free iPhones. Please don’t ask us to provide you with our music for no compensation.
Taylor

I think its messed up that Apple wants to use everyone's music for free for those three months. Like, I assumed that money would be eaten by Apple, NOT the artists.

Oh Taylor. I haven't seen an artist use his/her power like how she's using it recently. It's definitely awesome that she's under a label/management that empowers their artists instead of putting them down.

I love the fact that this woman is this influential. She swayed an entire corporation for the benefit of every artist that will be involved. People don't seem to realize just how impactful compensation can be in instances like these. Taylor may have plenty of money, but there are plenty of artist who are dependent on every dime they can get and those are the ones who will be benefiting from this.
