Someone I know posted Run on FB and said it brought him to tears. Me too, due to those terrible, dying-cat-in-heat vocals. Great lyrics and sentiment but someone like Kelly Clarkson would have...run with that song. The emotion doesn't even sound real. It sounds like she recorded it on her deathbed, croaking away.

Run would be fine...if somebody else was singing it. Her voice isn't suited to this type of ballad.

Her Kentucky accent is the WORST...
Even though I have never really liked a song by her, I hope she gets this album out. She has seemed so sad since she became known as a chronic flopper.

I always get confused... has she had 1 or 2 albums officially out already? Or was it one official and a previous one that was never released and was fully scrapped? It didn't come out in any country at all? The WHOLE thing was cancelled or some tracks were saved for the first official release?

Big Fat Lie will be her second official album.
She worked on an album called Her Name is Nicole for years, but it never got released after all the singles flopped. Some of the songs were recycled on Doll Domination.
She released Killer Love in 2011 overseas, but it never got released in the US after the singles underperformed here. So she's only had one official album so far, even though it wasn't released in the US.

I think all the failed singles for the intended "Her Name Is Nicole" made me think an album had been released. Thanks!

She said the title track references her eating disorder.

A lot isn't standing out to me on first listen. I love "Your Love," "Electric Blue," "Bang," and "Run." "Heartbreaker" is okay. Everything else is just kinda... there.

I got to "Heartbreaker" and wasn't invested so I quit. Big Fat Lie is no Killer Love but I guess I'll give it another shot tomorrow.

An album sampler has been uploaded to her VEVO:
Some songs have decent production, but the album is quite bland, and the singles are awful. I was expecting Tricky and The-Dream to give her more of a sexy, sassy sound, a la the criminally underrated Electrik Red album that they produced. There are traces of it, like in "Electric Blue" and "First Time," but even those are flat. I wouldn't be surprised if this album never got released in America either.

I had not realized that she had been allowed to made an entire second album, or that it was even getting released until I saw this come up somewhere on the internet today.

She just cannot get it right. And I'm not sure if that's just the style of music she prefers to record but literally E V E R Y song she has ever had solo has had this same, clunky, cheap sounding production. It doesn't matter the producer, writers or genre, she will always have some watered down D-grade Rihanna uptempo and schlocky, Diane Warren wannabe ballads.

I think is this a major improvement over the generic mess on Killer Love. This may not be an all time high for her, but it feels like a good and cohesive, more mature body of work. She was chasing trends with KL, this one seems much less forced to me.

I've been trying to get into this album, so disappointing. Something is so off with her. And I can't blame the producers on this one, The Dream and Tricky have worked with artists over entire albums before and the results were far better than this.
And KL may have been a "trendier" album, but there were several solid pop/dance tunes on it. Something that is severely lacking on this one.

Something along the lines of Go Shawty or even Kill Bill would be something suited for her but they went bland except for the few Prince-lite tracks.

I really can't understand at this point how she keeps being able to make solo albums. She's been trying to launch a solo career off of her PCD fame for 7 YEARS now. I mean, take a hint girl.

I get how...in theory, executives could see her being a star and I get why she keeps getting record deals. She's hot, can sing and can dance. What I don't understand is how her label allows her to record and release such horrid material, without exception. Starting with the second PCD album (and if we're being honest, about a third of the first album too) she has released almost exclusively trash.

Debuts at #17 in the UK, becoming her second Top 20 entry there.
