This has gone recurrent as of this afternoon's update on Mediabase!!! Color me shocked!! Make that two that are shocked. This just can't be, but there in plain sight, is no "Shotgun Rider". That's just a screw up on MB's part. Tim was #1 on the January 5th chart. Last week was his first non-bulleted week falling to #5 (January 12th). So Tim should have stayed. Did someone over there think they were working for Billboard? I'm now going to have a sleepless evening waiting for that final update since this is a screw up. I believe we went through a screw up on MB's part almost 1 year ago with "Whatever She's Got" nearly staying on for an extra week when it should have gone recurrent. Luckily they made amends by the nights end. But I'm speechless right now at Tim being gone.

Also, for the record, even if this falls out of the top 10 on Billboard tomorrow (or Tuesday/whenever the chart comes out), it should still stay on for one more week. It fell from 1-2 back on the 5th, but it still had a healthy bullet. Last week was its first week without a bullet, as it fell 2-5. This week will be its 2nd week without a bullet, but even if it falls out of the top 10, this is only week 20 on the chart for Tim, not 21. So he should get another week on both charts. While I'm more than ready for some songs to go recurrent, I still want to see the trades follow their own rules, so hopefully MB corrects this situation.

Yeah, I just don't even know how something like that could even happen. I mean it makes the publication look bad IMHO. Not following your own recurrent rules is not cool to me. Personally, I love when the charts free up more and allows for songs to move up a few more spaces - a house cleaning week is like Christmas to me. But it doesn't overrule the importance of following the rules like this situation. Now "Shotgun Rider" did lose nearly 1000 points and 440 spins from the last normal chart week (December 15th) to the first regular one (January 5th) but if a song stays at #1 it shouldn't matter. A song could lose 3000 points if it wants but if it remains at #1 then it might as well be a bulleted week. It's always been one week fall from #1, then a second week from being #1, then sent recurrent on the third week.

Hopefully they'll catch this, and put Tim back in for the final update tonight. I had forgotten that he wouldn't be leaving Billboard tomorrow (or shouldn't be at least). I don't love recurrent rules in general, but if charts are going to have them, they should be followed consistently. Re-entering songs is still worse to me than removing them early, but they're both pretty bad.

The evening update has come in....
"Shotgun Rider" is still gone. The Mediabase Rolling chart hasn't updated yet so I'm holding out hope they rectify this mistake before the night is over.
Edit: "Shotgun Rider" has been removed from the MB Rolling Chart just now.
I might call them. That's how much this bothers me.

This isn't like a situation where a song is having ever so slight losses and is sent recurrent if it breaks even and retains a bullet. This was a #1 song falling down to #5, then it's gone the following week. That's just not the way MB recurrent rules work.

Hey sabre, just send them this photo. It should get your point across: I am so immature (I've been waiting for ages for an excuse to use this photo)

Just made a discovery on All Access's page for the Mediabase chart. I discovered that under rolling it says the following
ROLLING: lw: Jan 4 - Jan 10 TW: Jan 11 - Jan 17 PUBLISHED: lw: Dec 28 - Jan 3 TW: Jan 4 - Jan 10
My gut tells me that Tim will be back on the rolling chart tomorrow even though the Rolling and Published charts are both matching and with the same positions and the artists and etc. Only difference I see is that the published dates are still from last week.

Well that's still a flub by Mediabase since the updated numbers from today are in the final updates for the evening chart even though, like you said, the Rolling Chart says Jan 11- Jan 17. I hope you're right since this is an obvious mistake that should be fixed before the publications made available in Country Aircheck on Tuesday evening (MLK Jr. day tomorrow).

Yeah, I've never seen something correct for the first time be in the published Airchek issues, so short of a miracle, "Shotgun Rider" was wrongfully removed. #majorfail.

And unfortunately there is no completed Hail Mary at the end of the game.
"Shotgun Rider" was (wrongly) sent recurrent this week on Mediabase.

Billboard follows their own rules at least, as "Shotgun Rider" drops to #11 in week 20.
