Jesus Jones's other non-RHRN hit was a song called "Real Real Real" and let me tell you that one is just ghastly. "Do you?" If you're asking if I like your song, the answer is no.
Also, what is it with really bad third singles recently? We've had I Miss You by Neighbourhood, Follow Me by Muse and god knows how many else.

Third single from the Neighbourhood's album was actually titled "Let It Go", not "I Miss You".
I love "Paradise" along with "Sweater Weather", which was my favorite rock radio hit of 2013. "Fever" and "Discotheque" not bad either though in the latter's case I always preferred "Staring at the Sun" and "Please" from the parent album (Pop).

I had it mixed up with the album title (I Love You).

295 SUICIDE BLONDE INXS #1 for 1 week, 10 weeks on chart [1990]
Before I say anything, I just need to get this out of the way. INXS are a great band. "Never Tear Us Apart", "Need You Tonight", "Devil Inside", those are classic staples and had they topped the chart, they definitely would have been much higher up on the list. But by the time the 90s had rolled around, it was clear that INXS was no longer the great band they once were, and their lone chart-topper "Suicide Blonde", is a great example of that. The quality of their material had deteriorated and they were only a shell of what they once were. "Suicide Blonde" does absolutely nothing for me - it's not interesting, it's not engaging, it's just there.

"Fever", "Sweater Weather", and "Paradise" are all shamefully too low. Notably the latter two.

294 VERTIGO U2 #1 for 4 weeks, 23 weeks on chart [2004]
The All That You Can't Leave Behind album was a major one for U2. Reeling from the backlash that left them in a state of chaos following 1997's Pop, it brought them back into mainstream attention with the well-known "Beautiful Day" and "Walk On". But three years later, it was clear that they had nothing left in the tank when they released "Vertigo" as the lead single off of How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb. This was U2 way past their prime, still trying to recapture the glory twenty years later. From the opening line (Uno! Dos! Tres! Catorce!) that just proves Bono's lack of knowledge of the Spanish language to the faux-rapped verses, "Vertigo" is boring and goes absolutely nowhere, a sentence that pretty much describes their career for the last decade; after all, that's why their releasing free albums now, because they know no one's willing to pay money for their recycled, watered down shlock.

While I'm a pretty big INXS fan agree Suicide Blonde is pretty bad compared to their past material. Kick is such a great album. I really enjoy Vertigo, though I have to say this sentence made me chuckle. ....a sentence that pretty much describes their career for the last decade; after all, that's why their releasing free albums now, because they know no one's willing to pay money for their recycled, watered down shlock.

293 FLY AWAY Lenny Kravitz #1 for 2 weeks, 32 weeks on chart [1998]
I was never that big a fan of Lenny Kravitz, although he did have a few gems - "Are You Gonna Go My Way" and "American Woman" are the first few that pop into my mind. His lone chart-topper is one that from the bat, doesn't seem too bad. "I wanna see the stars / the Milky Way / or even Mars" is a pretty catchy line, I'll give it that. What ruins this song for me, though, is how damn repetitive it is. The last three minutes of it are just "I want to get away / I want to fly away" repeated ad nauseum, Besides, the way Kravitz enunciates the word "away" and "yeah" is also slightly irritating. All in all, it's definitely not one of his stronger songs, although I do have to agree that that riff is pretty groovy.

Wow so many good songs just getting dragged by Baron. Makes me think about how many songs on his top that I have to drag myself.

Fly Away is fantastic, easily on par with Are You Gonna Go My Way, maybe even better. Having it this low is pretty shocking imo. Are we out of the songs you hate yet or still in that category?

I like "Suicide Blonde". Not as good as the Kick singles but certainly not bad enough to merit stating that INXS became a shell of their former selves within (literally) just 1 year of the last single from Kick - it's got a nice, funky groove going for it. I've always felt that the singles from Welcome to Wherever You Are were unjustifiably forgotten, "Not Enough Time" in particular has aged really well.
"Vertigo" good too, and "Fly Away" is a guilty pleasure

We each enjoy different styles come on now "Vertigo" is easily the band's BEST SONG, and it was also a UK #1. "Fly Away" is also pretty good, it's no "American Woman" but at least it gets the job done.

It's sad to see "Vertigo" and "Fly Away" go, although I don't care for them near as much as some of the other ones you have eliminated. I'm curious as to what will make the top of your list.

294: Hadn't heard Discotheque before but I couldn't get through it so ew. 293: A terrible song from an overrated band, Fever really shouldn't have spent so many weeks on the top let alone any at all. One of the worst songs to hit #1. 292: Devil You Know, I never liked Jesus Jones. Ew. 291: Sweather Weather, whoa okay I actually like this song but I understand where Baron is coming from. It might be some ADD fixation that there needs to be LOUDNESS AND CRUNCHY GUITARS and can't be a soft, soulful tune. Also refering Love Like Winter instead of The Sound of Winter? 290: Paradise, the last song by Coldplay that I actually liked. PARA PARA PARADISE 289: Suicide Blonde, it's pretty eh. 288: Vertigo, never was too big on U2, and their 21st century stuff is crap. 287: Fly Away, this isn't a good song either, Lenny Kravitz can play guitar but he can't sing. 286: Hopefully isn't Re-Arranged cause that's a good song.

Alright, let's get more in depth.
309. Perfect choice for the bottom, it really is one of the worst songs made. 308. I actually charted this, I doubt I'll ever listen to it again though. 307. It has a nostalgia factor, but it hasn't really held up well over time. 306. Not bad, but not 11 weeks good. 305. It does have an odd structure, but I still like it. 304. The first song so far to go top 10 on my chart. It didn't last long, though. 303. The B-52s were definitely past their prime at this point, but the only song I really enjoy by them is "Roam". 302. And here we have the most boring songs ever. 301. I talked about this one already, I was never a fan. 300. Not their best, but not their worst. 299. I love this song, it's actually one of my favourites of the early 2000s, lol. 298. Another good song as well. 297. One of the better singles from this era. 296. Their later singles just don't do it for me. 295. Not their best single. 294. Far from their best but I'll still listen to it. 293. Burned out on this quick, but I still like it. 292. It's cool and all, it just doesn't strike me as a #1. 291. Not the best Alt song from 2013 but still decent. 290. Love it. 289. Not their best but it's way too low. 288. This was such a breath of fresh air for them when it came out and it's still such a jam. 287. Love this song. Better than his version of "American Woman", and of course his newer singles.

292 RIPTIDE Vance Joy #1 for 5 weeks, 20+ weeks on chart [2014]
Blegh. Although indie pop has mostly dominated the chart in its current phase, indie folk also has a presence, with songs by Mumford & Sons, The Lumineers and Of Monsters and Men going #1. Some of them are actually quite good, I must admit, although its presence is mostly limited aside from a few smashes. Recently, we had two indie folk songs hit #1 back to back, "Stolen Dance" by Milky Chance and "Riptide" by Vance Joy. Although they're both insufferable, the latter does get a slight advantage for reasons I will explain later. This song was originally a hit on AAA earlier in 2014, and before that it was a pop smash in Joy (birthname James Keogh)'s home country of Australia. The only problem is, it's just so damn boring. Nothing about it grabs my attention, it just sits there waiting for something catchy or memorable, and it never happens. However, there is one moment that does stick out to me (although you won't hear me praising it) - in the second verse, after a minute of monotony, there's a set of lines that are filled with such passion that I have to smile when I hear it ("This guy decides to quit his job and heads to New York City / this cowboy's running from himself / and she's been living on the highest shelf" to be exact). The only problem is, when it's done, the song fades back into the same crap that it was at the start. Way to seem promising.
